Taco's are insanely expensive.  215K is a lot of miles, even for them.  Can he handle a full size?  Neighbor just picked up a Nissan Titan.  Have another friend with one as well.  They are great, great trucks with that big 5.6l engine.  Does he "need" 4x4?

He does not need 4x4. Unfortunately he has not picked up my love for hunting. :) And yes, he can handle a full size. I taught he how to drive in my Ford F150 and he has driven my Tundra more recently.

Call me cheap, but bought my last truck in 4x2 and V8 after having the previous truck in the shop numerous times.  Took the "less crap to break, the better" approach, and have to admit, been very happy thus far.  The F150 at least has a rear diff lock that's saved my ass a few times.

I'm of the same mindset, except I enjoy having 4x4. I have the basic luxuries,  PW, PL and cruise and I'm a very happy.

The killer was having to do a cab-off on the 250 for a turbo repair.  Swore then and there I will avoid anything with a turbo at all costs.

Cumins is so much easier to work as room is abundant compared to Ford/GM. I put a bigger turbo, exhaust manifold,  injectors and a FASS on mine 2 years ago and it was very easy.  Compounds are next 😈

Well. Told you I was still considering and definitely an impulse buyer. I saw this one last week and thought it was too good to pass up. 2013 but only 88,220 miles. previously owned by a Marine who was deployed a lot apparently. Thing sat in his garage months at a time. Carfax did show consistent maintenance which made me feel more comfortable about it. Everything else looked great. $18,500 OTD.

Great find, seriously.  Good deals on Tacos are rare as rooster lips

These are great. I had one for a spell.

1GR-FE and A750 are bulletproof.

That's a great buy. I'm looking at used Tacos right now for my son who turns 16 next year and can't believe how expensive these are. I had a 4 door 2003 TRD off road that I traded in on a Suburban when we started having kids. I think it had ~130,000 miles on it and carmax gave me $10k for it. That was quite a bit higher than the GM dealer offered me and I was glad to have it. That same fucking truck is now $15k+ if it's in decent shape.

Here's one in Atlanta currently for sale:

Got distracted as I stopped for fuel in my 2019 Ram 6.7 Cummins this evening and pumped 4 gallons of gas before I realized what I was doing.

Called a shop close by and had a wrecker drop off the truck right as they were closing. Their plan is too drop the tank, drain it and flush the lines.

Anything else I need to make sure they do to not have any problems?

Have your wife pump the fuel from now on

Got my old f350 7.3L running well again (power steering and brake fluid pump, steering gear box, brake system, differential service and sealing, turbo something was leaking, and a bunch of little stuff with a receipt about 5 pages long, all in about $12k). Engine and transmission still in good shape, about to roll past 300,000 miles…

hums like a school bus with after market tuner that lets me ride on the highway with ease. Wife is installing a new car play stereo this weekend. Weekend drives and fishing expeditions in the hill country are sublime in that loud ass mother fucker. 🤤

yes tacos are expensive, bought my son one at the height of the used car market. 🤢

No fugly shit. F90 all day.

Good man.  I don't know what BMW is doing to their new M cars, but it's not good.  Can't imagine many people want them.

NM the fact that if you want all that power, you damn well better keep it charged. Without the battery motor, it has less power than the F90. No thanks.

Have to get new tires on my 22 FX4. Has a factory 2” lift. What would yall recommend? I’m thinking Michelin. I drive a lot so don’t want a loud ride. It has 50k miles. The stock tire is the Pireli 275/60/20. Also would like a little more aggressive look.

Wranglers, KO2s, Nitto Ridge Grapplers-- I've had all three of those in recent years and been pleased with the balance of aggressive vs. quiet for all of them.  But none of them are going to run like the Defender LTX.  It really just ends up being a tradeoff and you have to decide what's most important to you.

That is badass.  I would buy that for sure.  The single cab is kind of a problem for real world shit these days.

My 2007 Avalanche is coming along pretty good. I have taken a ton of progress pictures.  Should I post them here or start my own thread?  I also just replaced the steering wheel and I will be adding a CarPlay head unit soon.  Here’s a preview….

How do go about getting one without all the graphics and mismatched colors?

Had been wanting to get an F250 for about the last 25+ years. But I was too young back then and had just started having kids. So economically it didn’t make sense to buy one. And I would always defer to the wife and the kids needs. Ford Escape. GMC Acadia. Honda Accord. Mercedes Benz C300 (not family friendly at all and which my wife impulse bought after getting into an accident that totaled out the Accord.) 2014 KR Ford Expedition. Cadillac XT5. And a Volvo XC90 (which is finominile!). Always put my needs aside and focused on the family first. Until….

2017 6.7 diesel Lariat with 4” lift kit. 88k on the odometer. Not a scratch or ding. Interior is impeccable. Spray in bed liner and tonneau cover. $45k. I’m in love. This is what I’ve waited for.

I appreciate that bub. But…This has been 25+ years in the making. I’m aware of the concerns but the heart wants what the heart wants. I’m happy with the purchase.

I'm being serious.  My BIL had one of that vintage and he got it.  It is a real thing.

It is also fixable. I'd rather deal with something I can fix in my driveway than a chevy that will grenade a motor.

Ignore the haters @Txslnghrns. Nice rig.

It can be fixed like most mechanical things. People forget basic rudimentary geometry when troubleshooting these issues.
