I’d like to extend Joey an invitation to give a pep talk at the baseball diamond before our series there.

Its legitimately funny to me that Tech brings out a dude to talk shit about Texas who we just facefucked by 50 last November. I'm somewhat surprised he can walk already after the train that Sark and the boys ran.

I can understand fans getting a little riled -- it was a flagrant foul and it's a rivalry.*  But throwing shit on the court?  That's just stupid.  But, hey, it's Tech.

* For Tech.

Tech saying the fans are passionate, maybe the most passionate fans in the country - bullshit. That's just pure hatred. Of course Joey taking the mic before the game, auto L.

Meh.  Both teams got embarrassed on their home courts.  Brock Cunningham is and always has been a low talent player looking to be the heel.  He likes who he is, and that's fine.  They're up by 25 and he pulls that shit... because why the fuck stop breathing?  It's his very existence.

Fuck the people throwing shit.  If they are/were identified, arrest them.

An action happening in the arena of play shouldn't precipitate criminal behavior.  That's the bottom line.  No player should ever feel like they are in danger.  Then again Darrion Williams didn't think he was playing roller derby either.

How bout you not worry so much about Brock Cunningham living rent free in your piece of shit fanbases heads and tell us how that's ok?

Lol.  And we’re done here.  Idiot.

Misrepresenting the situation must be a common bond between you and your son, Mr Cunningham.

Great response.  Care to enlighten me? I just read about 6 articles that say the same thing...was she not drunk? Not 17? Are they in love? Tech's crack investigate team say he didn't do it? What's the real story here ?

Edit : 😆 🤣

We dissected the situation in the basketball thread when the civil charges were filed by the butthurt dad whose intent seemed to be to fully embarrass his 2 kids involved in the situation, as opposed to seeking remedies against Isaacs.

There are and were not any criminal charges against Pop Isaacs.  The headlines and zingers are just that, words to get clicks.  If you've truly researched the situation, as opposed to picking and choosing, you'd be aware that it was nothing remotely nefarious.  But yeah, why let a good storyline go by?  I mean, a 20 year old dude hooking up with a 17 year old is the same shit as getting Sanduskied or ignored by Baylor administrators, right?

and before you dig in any deeper against what you presume to be someone worth defending:  I'm not a big Pop Isaacs fan.  I wasn't before the happenings in the Bahamas.  I'm not now.  You're just displaying your lack of objectivity and laziness to be steered by ESPN and the like.

Wow that's some interesting mental gymnastics to perform to justify leaving him on the team.

" Hey it wasn't as bad as Penn St or Baylor!"

Amazing.  Tech fans deserve each other. Nice to put such a disgusting place in the rear view.  Hopefully LHN will show 57-7 soon again.

You define nonexistent rape/ criminal charges against a player on your own, as opposed to the legal definitions; and then accuse others of mental gymnastics?

Thanks for removing all doubt, sir.

Towards the end of the game, Fran said he thought Texas will do well in SEC and something to the effect that he thought it was good they are leaving because other B12 schools have too much “envy” towards Texas.  This was the first time I heard someone call out the other schools pettiness towards Texas.

If the other schools in the big 12 had any marketing sense they would have rallied around Texas/OU as the faces of the conference. But they are too small and petty to see the advantages that they would reap in that situation.

Maybe Drew Steffe would like to present his side of the story...any idea where he might be?

He has essentially been invited to do so in court. Pop's team recently requested the court drop the suit entirely or else grant him a jury trial. They're essentially daring the Steffe's to go through discovery because it likely doesn't make them look good.

Tech is such trash. Good riddance.

They are the worst fan base we face. Far worse than aggy or OU ever has been. They weren’t always like this. I’ve been going to Texas football games in Lubbock since the mid 80s and this  phenonema only started around 2010. 2005 Ohio State was a long time ago and most of you didn’t experience it. I’d put these Tech idiots up against anything that happened in Columbus that day and night. In short, fuck them. Enjoy playing Cincinnati and UCF for the rest of your miserable lives.

never seen it directed at opposing team.

I've seen a one off plastic water bottle thrown at a UT basketball game once but it was in regards to officiating.  of course those guys deserved it so no harm no foul.

Baylor and TCU will be the new Texas for them and it will be hilarious to watch the little cousins fight each other.

Yes this. The thing about Tech fans is that they have always kinda been a rowdy type of crowd. But, they were fun. They didn't care about winning or losing the way they do now. I don't know where it came from but they suddenly think they are a big winning brand and should be on the level with schools like Texas. That has just completely ruined them because obviously reality has bitch slapped that notion repeatedly and they haven't handled it well.

If you went to a Tech home basketball game from like 2005-2009 there were maybe 500 people there. You could just walk in.

They must have a thing for water bottles and tortillas. At a football game my husband was hit in the back of the head with a water bottle thrown by, you guessed it, a tech fan at our Stadium in all fairness there are probably aiming for me cuz I have the bigger mouth LOL.

The thing I appreciated about what Brock Cunningham did is he was essentially acting on behalf of this fan base by giving a one last middle finger to Lubbock.

He isn't the player I hoped he would be this year but I think his impact on culture and being willing to do some dirty work is still there.

McCasland handled it really well, I have a lot of respect for him.

He seems like a good guy, but you could tell how bad it was eating at him. He even said postgame how this game meant a lot to him and his team got embarrassed. Then he walks into the locker room and administrators are just looking at him.

He really does play like a WWE villain, even down to how he interacts with the crowd and his facial gestures.  The condescending smile.  Standing proud and looking directly at them and giving the horns up.  All of it.  I love it.

All of this, but with the addendum that it was dumb and unnecessary. It gave the Tech players some extra juice and, worse, it woke up the crowd. If I were the coach, I'd have made Brock go over to the opposing locker room (with an escort, perhaps) and apologize to the player he body checked after the game.

That said, I still love the guy and always will. I was also laughing my ass off while the entire scene unfolded. His "What did I do?" look after the play would've made Tim Duncan blush.

Total legend in my book. Andy Kaufman would've been proud.

Maybe I am too old school but that being an ejection was laughable and the crowd reacting the way they did was dumb as shit. It was a hard foul, period. Not an ejection. Brock went hard probably thinking that the Tech player would too and he didnt at all.

Every school in the Big 12 hates Texas, but none as much as Texas Tech.  They desperately want to be our rival, but know that at best they are 3rd or even 4th in our pecking order of rivals.

They promote a rebellious culture... a "F you, Us vs. the world, Everyone is against us" type of mindset.  Kids that go to TCU or Baylor come from rich families, which makes it tough to play the victim card.  Aggy thinks they are equal to Texas and are mad that they don't get the same props.  But Tech stokes the inferiority complex with Texas being the big bad villain.  And when we "stole" Chris Beard, it just fed into that complex.

This game was huge for Tech because basketball is a source of pride for them. They know they have better hoops fans than us, and honestly better on-court performance over the last 15 years. This was their chance for scoreboard in basketball, and really in life. The stakes went beyond the game last night.

I say all of this as a product of the panhandle with two Tech parents and Tech parents in-law.  My daughter will likely go there and my nephew is a football student assistant.  This was their David vs. Goliath moment. Their chance to once and for all hit the bully in the mouth.  And all that passion came to a head when Brock made his play.  I really thought it had Malice at the Palace potential.

It was delicious.

I hate A&M way the fuck more than I have ever hated Texas.

Fwiw, the age of consent in Texas is 17. That’s not a crime. If he got her drunk first it would be though, regardless of age.

I applaud Cunningham's effort and loved it during the game. That said, he abandoned any notion of going for the ball and threw a side body block at the guy. While watching the replays immediately afterward, I shrugged and thought to myself "yeah, he's getting tossed". It came across as flagrant, and worthwhile.
