Gil seems thoroughly broken.

He is. Rodon is also broken. Cole looks like he could be named the Home Run Derby pitcher next month. Dominguez is done for the year and will likely never wear the pinstripes again. Torres seriously is making me miss Ronald Torreyes. Rizzo is cooked. Everything is fucked.

But Judge did tie Bernie Williams for 7th place on the Yankees all time homer list tonight. So that’s something.

i just laughed for five straight minutes remembering your posts after y’all signed judge and you proclaimed it the greatest lineup of all time. i believe i said at the time that your lineup would be two scary hitters and seven guys who are walking k’s. wasn’t too far off.

javy, rizzo, and bryant were the young core of the 2016 world series winning cubs. they’ve all been bad since ~2018. i don’t ever remember seeing a young core of all stars/mvp candidates (and a winner) get so bad, so fast.

Heading up to Dodger Stadium next Sunday from San Diego (will be driving).  1 pm local start time, so thinking of getting up early to arrive when gates open.  Anybody that has done it, is traffic bad on Sunday getting to a day game?  Can't imagine it being as bad trying to get to an evening/night game during the week.  Parking lot gates open at 10:30, want to see everything outside/inside of the stadium since it'll be the first time we've been to it.  Just trying to see how much time to give myself.  Thanks for any info.

oneil cruz- when he gets em, he gets em. shohei and judge might be the only guys in the league this year with more absolute no-doubt tanks.

i cannot stand the way all of these HR videos start 0.05 seconds before the bat hits the ball. still, nobody hits bombs like oneil cruz.

holy shit. I definitely don’t remember this:

Abbott was 2-21 in his career (all in the final season of his career with Milwaukee in 1999).

Both of Abbott’s hits were off of Jon Lieber. Two weeks apart. He batted .400 (2 for 5) against Lieber (and drove in all 3 of his career RBIs) vs 0 for 16 all else.

(As a HS senior he hit .427 with 7 HRs.)
