Bring back old school baseball ….

Based off this vid, no wonder Joe Namath wanted to kiss Suzy Kolber.

She had to have had a mean pelt.

I remember watching that game at a friend's house when I was a kid, it was awesome. The count was 3-0 when he got plunked, which is even better. The next day the news said some local bars were advertising a drink special called "The Vina Collida" as a joke.

There are tons of hilarious Albert 'joey' Belle stories out there, like the time he got a teammate to try to sneak through the ceiling to get into the umps lockers to replace his corked bat to avoid getting suspended. Dude was a surly asshole through and through.

Random-ass stat.

Jose Ramírez became the second player to get intentionally walked three times and have three hits in a game since Major League Baseball began tracking free passes in 1955, and the Cleveland Guardians held on to beat the Detroit Tigers 9-8 in 10 innings Tuesday night.

"He got some pitches to hit, and he didn't miss them," Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said.

Ramírez joined Paul Goldschmidt, who pulled off the feat for Arizona against Milwaukee in 2015, according to Sportradar. Ramirez is also the first to have three intentional walks in a game since San Diego's Jake Cronenworth did it nearly three years ago, according to Sportradar.

"That tells you what I think about Ramírez," Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said.

Former big league infielder Sean Burroughs passed away this week at just 43 years of age, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Tragically, the former Little League World Series hero and No. 9 overall draft pick collapsed while coaching his son’s little league game.

The son of former No. 1 overall draft pick, two-time All-Star, and 1974 American League MVP Jeff Burroughs, Sean clearly had baseball in his DNA. He starred on the mound and at the plate while leading his Long Beach team to consecutive Little League World Series wins and eventually went on to be selected by the Padres with the ninth overall pick in the 1998 draft. Baseball America ranked him among the sport’s top-100 prospects in each of the next four years, including top-10 rankings each year from 2000-02. Burroughs represented the United States in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and won a Gold Medal.

Fucking fentanyl.

Former major leaguer Sean Burroughs suffered fentanyl intoxication when he died in the parking lot at a Long Beach, California, baseball field in May, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner.

The medical examiner released its findings into Burroughs' death this week and ruled it as an accident.

Burroughs died May 9 at the age of 43. He was found unconscious next to his car at Stearns Champions Park in Long Beach after dropping off his son, Knox, for a Little League game, Long Beach Little League president Doug Wittman said at the time. Wittman said CPR was performed on Burroughs in hopes of reviving him but that he remained unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Phillies sweep Dodgers, never trailed.

If we don’t get some arms back, we’re sunk.  We have so many arms on the DL. Oh and an MVP caliber player.  We are scuffling to get through injuries.  We may or may not be able to.  It will be interesting to see how much of our strong farm system we’re willing to sacrifice at the deadline.  Sooooo many buyers.  Sellers market for sure.
