Team will be fine.  Shitty start is disappointing, but not completely out of character. They'll be above .500 by end of April and will have a solid lead in the division by June 1st.

The last major leaguer to do it was Geoff Jenkins in 2004.

It may (should!?) happen, but I’m not betting on above .500 by end of April with the schedule the next two weeks

Bad starting pitching is the tallest hurdle to get over. Bats should come around, same clutch hitting. BP will improve

blanco is proof that our pitching system still works

Astros-Rangers probables at Globe Life Field:

Friday: Hunter Brown vs. Cody Bradford
Saturday: TBA vs. Jon Gray
Sunday: Ronel Blanco vs. Dane Dunning
Monday: Framber Valdez vs. Andrew Heaney

Saturday is J.P. France’s scheduled turn. He’s currently on the paternity list.

So he pitches every sixth day we could see him as early as the final game of the Braves series.
otherwise looking like on the road in Washington. (Will he make his 2nd rehab start with the Space Cowboys in Albuquerque? Or with the Hooks in Frisco?)

Will be interesting to see if he pushes to avoid having to pitch in the thin air in Mexico City. The whole rotation at the end of the month will be wonky with 4 off days in a 12 day stretch

Astros starting pitching is the BEST in baseball.

1. Astros: 1.46 ERA
2. Royals: 1.74 ERA
3. Red Sox: 2.18 ERA

Astros have the 3rd WORST bullpen:
28. Astros: 7.41 ERA
29. Giants: 7.91 ERA
30. Phillies: 8.71 ERA

Astros have the 2nd WORST record in baseball.
T-29. Astros/Rockies/Athletics: 1-5
T-30. Mets/Marlins: 0-6

Hader kinda seems like he sucks. Zero saves, 0-2, and 6.75 ERA is worth $19M per year?

doesn't have a killer repertoire.   Maybe management had visions of Randy Johnson.  Massive waste of money along with Abreu and Montero. Shoulda kept Maton and Neris.

And thats why we keep the roof closed

58 pitches thru 3 for Javier. Gonna need the pen tonight.
Positive is they are well rested. Negative is they suck

Another good start for Javier.  I was afraid that wp was going to lead to a bloop single to tie the game.

That change is looking good.  Now he just needs to get the pitch counts under control.
