Does anybody else see characteristics of Bregman’s swing that looks like Abreus? I know Jose is 29 years older than Breggy. But it sure looks like when degenerative disk disease begins taking Alex’s back like it has with Abreu, then all of Breggy’s pop ups are going to be to the first baseman.

Don't look now, but Enoli Paredes has figured shit out with Milwaukee. He's now up to 5 IP and fucking walked a single batter. Meanwhile, we are promoting guys with double digit eras.

This is stupid, send McCormick down to get his shit figured out and bring back Loperfido. Then play Dubon at 2B, SS, 3B, and 1B throughout the week.

Interesting idea.  If Chas doesn’t pick it up, optioning him, releasing Abreu, and going with Dubon and Loperfido as everyday players might give the offense a boost.

Chas just seems like a ghost.

A guy I don’t even think about or realize he’s there.

just completely invisible this season.

i guess he sucks but I just haven’t realized it because I feel like I never see him or think about him

i seriously can’t remember a single thing he’s done this year (other than misplay a ball of the Crawford boxes wall early in the season)

If Julks was out there putting up Chas numbers this thread would be screaming bloody murder, ready to burn down mmp

speaking of Julks ….

Julks is having a great start for the White Sox.

I pull for all our former players to go out and succeed. This is a very tough roster to get at bats, it limits developing bats and position players imo

Especially when you sign washed vets and play them even when it's obvious they are washed.

that signing was celebrated by 98% of the media and fan base. I wish it would have worked out. Hell if he just hit a consistent .230, we’d be better off

This. Abreu fell off a cliff and we have to figure out how to move forward. We have sucked since it was announced he was returning to the lineup.

May schedule talk:

.......

But overall, the best records in the AL in April were 19-10. With our schedule in May, pitching staff coming back together, rotten luck we’ve endured for most of April, and shedding Abreu and whatever happened to him there is no reason in my mind that we can’t replicate that and flip our 4/30 10-19 record to match that 19-10 and be back to .500 by June 1

CLE 1-1

SEA 4-3

NYY 2-1

DET 2-1

OAK 5-2

MIL 1-2

LAA 3-0

MIN 1-0

= 19-10

3 game win streak kool-aid tastes so good.

How it started

How it went:

CLE 1-1

SEA 2-5

NYY 1-2

DET 2-1

OAK 6-1

MIL 2-1

LAA 1-2

MIN 0-1

= 15-14

June schedule talk.  Schedule is once again pretty friendly.

3-4 mediocre teams (MIN, SF, DET), 3-4 bad teams (LAA, CWS, COL, NYM), 1 good team (BAL)

Really no excuse not to be back to .500 by June 30 (except for the Javier and Urquidy issue)...which is two games past the halfway mark. I'll say we're one game short:

MIN 1-1

STL 2-1

LAA 3-0

SF 1-2

DET 2-1

CWS 3-0

BAL 1-2

COL 1-1

NYM 2-1

=16-9, 41-42 overall

I gotta give it to Abreu. He’s really good at going opp field.

He’s a master of it. He reminds me of Tony Gwynn. He can put it anywhere he wants to.

He just chooses to go opposite field. To show the other players he’s better than them.
