really wanted another LCS appearance and think we could handle Cleveland. Sucks we got Detroit instead of KC.

KC's a game away too against a better team than us

I honestly believe that managers don't win baseball games, but they can lose them.

yeah, they can definitely lose games by being really bad at handling the pitching staff.

NOBODY GIVES A FUCK ABOUT BREGMAN RIGHT NOW.  God Damnit.

i'll always miss Peak Bregman - especially when he was so animated and his home run antics in the dugout.

o7 Bregman

some of yall need to go back and look at lee’s stats with the astros. we needed that kind of bat on the team this year for 162!

Well it was an incredible streak, the likes of which we'll never see again.

I guess I'll be rooting for the Tigers the rest of the way.

I think we’re gonna really see how we weren’t very good when the tigers get beat 4-1 to Cleveland.

one too many hits by the tigers, both games

one more hit needed by the astros, both games

very fine line

The only Tiger I loathe is Hinch because of the 2019 World Series debacle and not shutting down the cheating.

Didn't expect to go out with this much of a fizzle. Our stars wanted to go on vacation i guess. Cool.

Altuve and Bregs have played almost 2/3 of an extra season over the past decade.

A peaceful October will be strange.

Yeah, it sucks. Will be really weird not having 2-3 weeks of stressful nights pacing around my living room, refreshing Twitter. My liver will enjoy the break.

I gotta dig up my post from a few weeks back, but this was a disappointing, yet fitting end to a very mediocre season. We only made the playoffs due to being in a shit division. Aging, injury-riddled team that was more frustrating than fun to watch. Zero grand slams, terrible with bases loaded, terrible in extra innings, dropped something like 30 1-run games.

Just not a very exciting on-the-field product and a poor imitation of the quality we got spoiled watching for most of the past decade.

I hope crane didn’t budget for a full October of playoff home games

If they are nickel and diming after this run of success; that budget is fucked up anyhoo.

Ibanez had no chance against a well-placed slider given how keyed up he was to catch up with heat.  Too bad Hader was too afraid to throw it; I guess he was scared of another wild pitch.  Instead he just Farnsworth'd it middle-middle right into the kill zone.  Pathetic showing all around.

This team was definitely not fun to watch, especially with what it was just a couple of years ago.  After 2022, I thought they were set for years to come, but the wheels started to come off last year already.

losing verlander, javier, garcia, urquidy, tucker and still winning 88 games was amazing

and there's that.

They muscled through a lot of reasons to just shut it down.
