You have fucking got to pinch hit Dubon(a guy who actually puts the ball in play) for Loperfido unless I missed that Dubons dead

Shitty time for loperfido and his K rate to come up to bat.

really needed anything other than that

Dubon. Because yeah. And I’d have let Salazar hit for himself if Dubon got the guy over to third with one out.

Arighetti did better than his Detroit start.  I think they would take him for Vlad straight up now.

He’s not reliable yet. He just needs to keep the non competitive shit to no more than once every 4 or 5 times out.

He's not going to make it with that k rate.

Springer was a year younger when he came up and ran a 33% k rate his first year.  The next two years he was around 24% and then has been 17-20% the 8 years since except for one "bad" year at 23%.

So it's possible to improve the k rate but I think George was an exception to the rule.

Absolutely. It’s an enticing skill set but usually fools gold. He cannot succeed as a big leaguer with a k rate that starts with a 3 and he’s probably not powerful enough to actually be a plus player with a rate over 25% or so.

I could handle the K rate this season so far if he would drop a bomb once in the other 8 ABs lol. His lack of power so far has been pretty disappointing. Needs to stary getting a hold of some shit

At least Gallo dropped bombs

mariners 2-hit tonight by the Orioles

I knew the Mariners offense was one of the worst in baseball, but holy crap.

LF is the only position they are clearly better (and I suppose 1B considering the contributions—or lack thereof—of Albatross Abreu)

No wonder we’re only 3 back

Has Hunter been named POM yet?

Garrett Crochet, CWS, AL Pitcher of the Month

MLB’s strikeout leader followed a stellar May (0.93 ERA in five starts) with an outstanding June, pitching to a 1.91 ERA across six starts and striking out 56 hitters in just 37 2/3 innings. The White Sox left-hander had never started a game in the Minors or Majors before being named Chicago’s Opening Day starter, but Crochet has adjusted nicely to the role. On the season, Crochet has struck out 141 hitters across 101 1/3 innings and owns a 3.02 ERA

WTF. Did they not get the data for Hunter to evaluate?
