Houston Astros 2024 Season Thread

I'm coming around to this idea that if there's anything we DIDN'T need to add, it was more offense. We can win games against the Pirates and their ilk without even scoring. We're the mighty Astros. Mortal teams forfeit in our presence.

Good job Joe. Say what you will about Dusty, he was pretty good at handling the pitching staff, especially in the playoffs.

Miller was making the calls then just like he is now.

We had to try to stretch out Brown coming off the bullpen game last night forced by the urgent need to acquire Kikuchi.

No he wasn't. There is a reason he never won a WS title until Click made it idiot proof. It also helped that the 2022 Astros staff went on a playoff run that is not likely to be duplicated anytime soon, 11-2, 2.29 era, 126 IP, 32 ER, 43 BBs, and 160 Ks.

Since we fucked around and didnt find anything out during trade deadline....Vic/Diaz have to DH/C every game. Yordan has to play LF. We need Caratinis bat. Its idiotic to have him sitting on the bench ever. Boot any of Dubon/Meyers/Chas or let them circle jerk

remember talking spring training about  having too much pitching 🥺🥺🥺🥺

Why our pitchers keep listening to this Tommy John fellow who keeps giving them surgery is beyond me.

The problem I have with the trade deadline is Crane only went half-way. This team desperately needed another bat and likely two as well as a couple of pitchers. If you are willing to give up surplus value, then you better go all the way instead of half-way.

It's not a broken leg, he's never been in a cast and was on crutches only briefly after it happened.  Google bone bruises if you don't believe us.  He's not doing anything nefarious.  He's never had injury issues and was having the best season of his career.  He would play if he could.
