Wingo is what I would consider a 5 star talent that still needs development like every other 5 star WR.  Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams are Julio Jones/AJ Green level talent in the sense that those guys are generational talents that are better than everyone else at the college level day 1.  Bobby keeps saying Wingo is Roy Williams and he has said multiple times that he wouldn’t trade Wingo for Smith lmao.  Those comments did not age well through the season with regards to comparing him to Smith.  Wingo is a badass that will be a high round pick and fits our scheme very well.  I would not compare him to Smith and Williams, those guys guys aren’t human.  Gerry says DK Moore is in that category but we will see.

Yeah, saying you wouldn't trade Wingo for Smith is next level dumb. He and Williams are aliens. I think Wingo will break out next season, so I'm not too worried. I hope he ends up being a Roy/DK clone.

I think Bobby/Gerry also said that Lockett would be the first to see the field over Ffrench due to catch radius, but I'm not so sure about that. Ffrench's tape is sick, and his speed kills. I know Lockett is fast, but he looks like he's in slow motion compared to Ffrench. Both will be studs in time.

BTW, thank you fot answering my question. Pos rep

The next contested catch I see Wingo make will be the first. I don’t think he is in the same class as Smith/Williams but he has the potential to be really good regardless. And I think he’ll look a lot better next year.

This is exactly where I'm at. He's had balls thrown his way he could havr made spectacular catches, but his contested balls this season is bad. He has a lot to work on. Next season I hope he breaks out.

Appreciate you answering my question. Pos rep

Why is it a surprise Ohio State has strong NIL? They rank 41 academically while we’re at 30, have a huge alumni base, have always been good, were running bags during bag game era(probably still do at times). Like idk why people are surprised?

I'm honestly stunned by that ranking, as I've always thought of them as the Arizona State of the Midwest academically. Like I said, a big part of it is probably colored by my visit there in 2005, when it was filled with straight up belligerent trailer park trash.  The people I saw would have struggled at ACC.  Throw in the fact I just never ran into them in my career and I just never thought of them as being all that bright.  Hell, all the bright Ohioans I met went to Miami of Ohio.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the clarification.  Learned something new.

In recent years both tOSU and ASU have poured money and resources into the academic side of things.  I'm not familiar enough with the tOSU to elabortate, but ASU now has one of the highest-ranked Communications Colleges in the nation and has also invested heavily in the sciences.

I was going to follow this up with a cheese pun, but then realized that would be regarded.

Am I correct, it’s named for a Longhorn?

PLEASE sign him, this dude fucking sucks. He also spits in the face of all of those posts where they talk about Elko building the right type of culture etc.

I'm really trying to understand what aggy is doing at WR.

They seem like they want to stack a bunch of wide receivers that have done little to nothing at this level. I'm kind of convinced that Wiggins is a complete moron.

Last year they grabbed productive MAC and other mid major guys. That didn't work so they are going to try to take unproductive highly ranked former high school stars and unproductive players from SEC and large schools in the SE footprint with hopes that that will work.

They tried that with dbs last year. How did it work?

The 2024-25 College Football Playoff field features pairings with some numerical disparities, like ... the endowment of the University of Texas ($20 billion) compared to Clemson ($1 billion).

In the fiscal year that ended 31 august 2024, UT System endowments grew from $52.2 billion to $55.5 billion, an increase of $3.3 billion, and total assets managed by UTIMCO grew by $4.9 billion to end the year at $70.1 billion.

(sidebar: this link shows last year's numbers: https://www.statista.com/statistics/221147/the-20-richest-colleges-in-the-us/

"UT" $45B

aggy $19.3B

except the only way aggy can claim that number is if they claim 1/3rd of UTIMCO's total assets under management is "their endowment", which is exactly what they do

the aggy SEF (system endowment fund), the money they actually own that is theirs, is $1.6B)
