Leach went to Pepperdine for Law School, I think. BYU for undergrad. Religious nuts errywhere?

Pepperdine University (/ˈpɛpərdaɪn/) is a private Christian research university affiliated with the Churches of Christ with its main campus in Los Angeles County, California, United States.

The Churches of Christ, also commonly known as the Church of Christ, is a loose association of autonomous Christian congregations located around the world. Typically, their distinguishing beliefs are that of the necessity of baptism for salvation and the prohibition of musical instruments in worship

Churches of Christ generally share the following theological beliefs and practices:[14]

  • Autonomous, congregational church organization without denominational oversight;[22]: 238 [23]: 124
  • Refusal to hold to any formal creeds or informal "doctrinal statements" or "statements of faith", stating instead a reliance on the Bible alone for doctrine and practice;[21]: 103 [22]: 238, 240 [23]: 123
  • Local governance[22]: 238  by a plurality of male elders;[23]: 124 [24]: 47–54
  • Baptism by immersion of consenting believers[22]: 238 [23]: 124  in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of sins;[14][21]: 103 [23]: 124
  • Practice of a cappella singing is the norm in worship,[25] based on New Testament passages teaching to sing for worship, with no mention of instrumental music (and also that worship in church assemblies for centuries in the early Church practiced a cappella singing).[22]: 240 [23]: 125

And I have a message for the god squad. If you are lukewarm god will spew you out. Isn’t that what the bible says?

National Letters of Intent do not exist anymore. I think the only thing binding under the current structure is scholarship papers, which binds the school to the recruit, but not vice versa. Theoretically, anyone who just "signed" can just enroll somewhere else, correct? Kind of makes national signing day a ceremony and somewhat meaningless.

Correct on no more NLI’s, however, there is language in the scholarship papers that does bind the player to the school, once the paperwork is processed.  It’s new verbiage added this fall since the NCAA 86’ed NLI’s.

That's definitely not what your mom says...

I was just thinking that the transfer portal thread needed an argument about religion. Oh wait, no I wasn’t, because that would be fucking stupid.

You grab CJ Donaldson because you have no clue how CJ Baxter will be next season.

It's intuitive. A CJ insurance replacement for CJ. You can't lose.

There are just so many unknowns with that room right now. Baxter's health, does Blue come back, what do we do with Gibson, what do the freshmen look like, etc.

If Blue is gone they might rather get a speed guy.

Didn't he have two bad fumbles to start the bowl game?

Yes, missed it due to it not being on his careers stats on espn. Looking at the career game logs, he's had 4 over 3 seasons.

I am truly surprised they haven't figured out how to backcount transfers into their recruiting rankings.

Like, adding Micah Hudson's 5 stars to their #19 class from last year

Step 1: read the whole thread

Step 2: post

gotta take that first step, "ask her out and treat her like she's a lady"

2nd step, "tell her she's the one you've been dreaming of"

...,...,...

Assume good chance he's following Odom to Purdue.

He was fully healthy this year and balled out.

But he quit on us last year. Fuck him.

Ah Doubt it. We'll probably give him the ... cold shoulder.

Yikes. There is a large disconnect between what Maalik and his fanboys seem to think about him and what college programs seem to think about him.

He’s no longer a backup. Everyone knows the backup is no longer the best QB when he’s not a backup.

Best friend growing up in Dallas went to Pepperdine for one year…

1) He was one strike away from being expelled with the penultimate infraction being Empty Beer Cans found behind a couch in his suite.

2) He and his group of friends all transferred away after one year.
(Beautiful view, but not worth it because the school was run by religious nut jobs.)

3) Everyone I know who went to UCSB loved it.

No one complained about religious nut jobs. Only person who transferred away chose to transfer to UT and I think that it was for financial reasons. (Instate tuition)

A buddy of mine went to Pepperdine and said it was the greatest expweice he ever had. Said on the outside you wouldn't think they party, but that's a party school littered with rich kids who love giving away their parents money on beer and drugs.

Sign me up, fam.

Is A&M looking to bring in 15 receivers?

I don't really get what aggy is doing at WR. This would be their 3rd addition at WR of the same mold. Talented but very little production at the college level.

Do they know there are proven WRs in the portal with actual production? I'm confused but then I keep reminding myself that Wiggins is their WR coach.

Obviously the proven wide receivers with actual production are aware of aggy as well and prefer more actual production.

Oh, awesome. We don't potentially need a RB in case Baxter isn't ready yet. As much as I like Wisner, he's not the answer, Gibson fumbles, Blue fumbles, and then we get to the true frosh.

Hopefully Sark and Choice have a plan.

I don't know if I am a fanboy but I am a fan. He kept his nose clean, worked hard, represented UT well, and left on good terms.

The apparent psychological need that some of y'all feel to crap on him is disappointing, however.

Lol. He got shadow-benched for some kind of disciplinary issue while he was here. He also did not leave the team on good terms.

I don't know if it's "crapping on him" as much as people just finding it weird that these fanboys keep making up stuff in their heads.

It's actually weird how some have tried to hype up his play/ability.

Wut?

Murphy isn't a shit head. He's a bad QB, but he's a hard worker and a good teammate.
