I'm sure he does, but that dude isn't leaving K-State.

But if he did, it would be hilarious YET AGAIN to watch them ditch their starting QB for someone else.

Kenny Hill
Kyler Murray
Kyle Allen
Haynes King
Zach Calzada
Connor Weigman
Max Johnson
Marcel Reed

I think Mond was the only one who didn't get his ass run off or benched for someone else.

There are rumors coming from Aggie side that Klein wants to get Avery Johnson from K-State

Supposedly Klein tried to take Johnson with him to aggy. That didn't happen then, not sure what's changed that would make it happen now.

Kleiman had a rocky year on a personal level (sounded like a family mental health thing that meant his wife and kid needed to be out of state) that seemed to bleed into KSU's performance. Could just want to start over.

Their offense also wasn’t great so I could see Johnson bouncing. But part of that is because Johnson has limitations as a passer.

Legit question. Is Avery Johnson even good? From what I’ve seen he’s very limited as a passer. Seems like a slightly better version of Reed.

Good - yes, better than Reed -- ehh? coin toss. That's why I can't see him leaving KSU. He's their clear starter until he leaves.

I gotta hand it to some of you guys.  Real college football fanatics.  Blows my mind that ya'll can confidently discuss the play of a qb from the New Mexico Lobos.  I didn't even know this person existed or that Bronco Mendenhall was their coach until this morning.

The kid can play. I know one of their starters, so I have watched them a little bit. The team was better than their record this year, IMO. I was also surprised Mendenhall was coaching there.

New Mexico is often on TV after most games are over.

Not Texas recruiting related, but SHSU's Isaiah Cash is in the portal. Started off at Houston Christian before having a great season this year for the Bearkats.

Relevant because he's Kerry Cash's son. I used to work with his mom - she played soccer at Texas. Centex kid who went to Leander Rouse. Received his first P4 offer today from Virginia Tech. He has really worked his way up.

With Keeler off to Temple I expect to see a bunch of transfers out of Sam Houston.  They only lost one starter to the portal last year and they were able to ride that continuity and experience to a second place (tied) finish in CUSA.

I think good is pretty debatable. Johnson looked like a glorified RB in the games against better defenses he faced this year (Ie Iowa state and BYU). At least from what I saw.

Just before the window opens this cycle, Texas feels good about retention. Still going to be some pain. Got some things lined up, too. Let's see how right they and their guy are as this ramps up.

Michael Taafe may be going pro, but also, Texas has a good shot to have Michael Taafe next season while Michael Taafe is also in the NFL.

If I'm taking that literally, are we talking about the Minnesota safety?

Not right now, but he does have potential. He only completed 59% of his passes and was a big part of why they lost 4 games. He threw 2 INTs in 3 of their 4 losses.

He’s actually quite a bit like Marcel Reed, so I guess Klein has a type.
