Would you settle for Kendrick Law in the portal instead?

We annually take some bama transfers.  Who’s this years bama get.  Or UGA get.

Kendrick Law, hopefully.

OL really is a position you want to get your guys in early and develop them for a couple years and Flood's been able to lay the groundwork for that.

This. I think the storyline will be an entire recast of starters on the oline; but because they’re all being developed along the same timelines, they will have all gotten so many reps together as a unit in practice and scrimmages. You’d have to believe they have already developed a certain amount of cohesion.

Even if DJ and Cam both declare your starters look like Goosby-Neto-Robertson-Hutson-Baker, all of whom were promising prospects and have proved themselves to some degree.

I’m not concerned about the offensive line, but this isn’t really true for Robertson, Neto or Baker. Robertson wasn’t very good against OU last year (understandable), and Baker and Neto don’t get real snaps. Even Hutson, who has played a lot of football, consistently grades out the lowest among lineman with significant snaps IIRC.  I think we’ll be fine and perhaps very good by year end, but we’re all aboard the trust the coaches train with the line next year.

Not sure I see a need. Maybe if there is a really high end, P4 all conference/Day 1-2 draft pick type but those don't often enter the portal in the first place.

Even if DJ and Cam both declare your starters look like Goosby-Neto-Robertson-Hutson-Baker, all of whom were promising prospects and have proved themselves to some degree. Sounds like the '23s are coming along pretty well so you'd have Chatman, Cojoe, and Stroh as key reserves. Agbo is still hanging around and has some experience from the 6OL package. If Campbell and/or Williams come back, even better.

OL really is a position you want to get your guys in early and develop them for a couple years and Flood's been able to lay the groundwork for that.

I think it’s pretty safe to assume there will be some attrition among the names you listed.

I think our line next year will be:

LT Goosby - RS Soph
LG Neto - Junior
C Cruz - RS Fresh
RG Campbell - Senior
RT Baker - Soph

Hutson over Cruz. And if for some reason Hutson doesn’t start I’d assume he will be leaving. Started his entire freshman season and has spent the last two seasons being a part time player. He won’t go through another season of that.

I just don't trust him....as someone pointed out elsewhere he's played a lot but he's very lowly graded.

Seriously, of the options available and this is who they go with? Klein is recruiting like he is still at KState.

I thought WTF is Klein doing but then it hit me that maybe the better QBs do not want to play in his system where they will be heavily featured in run packages, translation get their ass beat for 2 or 3 seasons.

Aggy better get used to this.

Akana enrolled at 19 years old, right? It didn't seem promising when he showed up to campus at about 195 pounds as an edge/LB tweener who was already old for his grade.

I remember saying at the time that he was smaller than one of our starting corners. Always seemed like a weird eval to me.

Listed at 6'1", 235. Where exactly do you think we're playing this kid?

I didn’t know jack about this guy and was too lazy to Google.

on3 says he’s freshman all American…

Maybe he can gain 70-80 pounds if forcibly over fed.

Yeah, being a battering ram is not appealing if you are capable of throwing the ball well.

Why are lineman leaving when are roster is weakest at those positions? Don’t understand the akana thinking unless he knows we are getting big portal players

He was probably told in so many words to go find another place to play.

Akana is like last on the depth chart and is likely a G5 player due to size and athletic ability. We took him in hopes that he could develop physically, he could not. He's not playing next year with Simmons, Burke, Vasek (I hope), and the incoming freshmen.
