In speaking with the Temple, Texas native, I'm told the most important factor for Hudson when it comes to choosing his next destination will be development. The former five-star is looking for a place that'll best prepare him for the NFL while also playing for a program that's competing for national championships year in and year out.

The dumb motherfucker chose Tech which he knew offered none of the above. 18 year old kids are dumb as fuck.

Or, he took the big bag knowing full well he could leave the next year?

Not like he would have seen the field here this year.

He also could be just fishing for another bag from Tech. The

Personally, I hope we stick to portal WRs who have already produced on the field.

He is a ridiculously talented player that lied to the staff. I wonder if Sark would ever get over that? Unless he is a full on head case he’s going somewhere and going to do well likely.

On OTF tonite, Gerry feels like Sark will be looking at portal WRs with much better production than Hudson...

I live in Lubbock and the amount of hot air coming from here when Micah committed was crazy. They had radio bites being played over and over again about how the Hudson commitment totally changed the perception of the program overnight and that this was a sign that Tech was on the cusp of greatness because they finally signed their very first 5 star recruit in school history. But they all collectively ignored the fact that the only reason Tech was ever in the race to begin with was because his dad played for them. That was it.

And surprise surprise, he didn’t see any playing time and watched as freshman receivers at better programs started being contributors early on and decided to go elsewhere.

I’m friends with a guy very close to Hudson, and I could ask the deal. But I won’t. Because I don’t give a fuck what he does.

Reminds me of Javonne Shepard, in a very minor sense. I say let the kid lie in the bed he made.

We may have a more difficult time with WR in the portal this year if they just look at what Quinn's limitations did to Bond and Bolden's low production numbers and not focus on Arch being much better with the deep ball.

Hopefully not and they're smart enough to see the difference. Also, hope Golden decides to go one more year to raise his draft stock.

I feel confident that Sark can pick and choose whomever he wants out of the portal at WR.  Manning at QB.  Two years of productive portal results at WR with Bond, Golden, and Mitchell.  Throw in Sark's prior results at WR, our offense, UT's NIL commitment, and the results this year.  Sark will take whomever he wants at WR in the portal IMHO.

The only downside that we might have is that Moore and WIngo are a pretty solid 1-2 punch and if Golden opts to stay than the starting lineup may be considered harder to crack here than other schools which may be much more empty.  Who knows whether Moore or Wingo will try to play the NIL game that Worthy tried to play.  I doubt they have enough leverage like Worthy did, but it's WR so anything is possible.

So I can't see Sark being very interested in Hudson as at WR there usually are bigger fish in the sea.

Arizona was shit this year, and I have no idea if they had any decent underclassmen DTs (see comment about being shit) but perhaps Nansen could pull one of his former recruits from that wreckage if he thinks they can play. Regarding 2024 AZ portals, Norton was a solid plug in for us, don’t recall seeing much of Savea ( that’s why you take a few). But I suspect big Polynesian guys from out west will be evaluated/courted.

Savea was a bust. Nonentity who won’t be back. Norton was a solid double.

I would expect the Big 12 to be used as a farm system for Texas in this cycle.

At DT, for 2025 season in terms of rock solid roster spots for Texas - January, Hills, Bryant, Charles.

If they keep Mitchell, great. Dicey.

Sharma has been offered something stupid by Lincoln Riley’s dumpster fire.

Maybe something fabulous happens around signing day and they hang on to Sharma. I’m from Missouri on both things.

They need proven ballers from the portal. I think they’ll get a few and it’s going to be expensive, but so be it.

I’m not sure if he fits this description or not, but I was really surprised to see Niblack on the field as much as he was on Sat and even get a catch. Made me wonder if he’s still in the plans for next year, the opportunity is there for him.

At the least he must not have completely checked out and become a problem, Cook style.

I've not heard that he's any sort of problem regarding attitude and such. I also haven't heard if he'll be back or not. They never got to a spot where they trusted him to handle the playcalling, allegedly. Maybe him getting more snaps this past weekend is promising.

Someone on another board mentioned that he was okay with returning next year and came here because he wanted to be developed as a complete tight end for the next level.

That’s got to be coming-the stakes are getting too high and schools will need to follow the NFL front office model and then some, particularly since you have to so many more players for transfer candidates plus expanded high school as recruiting becomes less regional for the top 20 or 30 schools.

That's not his point; we already have a GM.  His value, leadership and salesmanship is very much in question for a great many people.

If what @closetojumping and others have speculated regarding Harris is accurate, that’s a title in name only and Sark is the real GM.  My point is that’s not a model that tends to work outside of a hall of fame type career, and even then it’s questionable.
