It came don't to us and Missouri, but it wasn't due to an NIL promise they couldn't deliver. Becuase how could that have been determined before signing day? It wasn't Rashada at Florida, man.

I smoke a lot of weed lately so I apologize for missing the specifics. I definitely thought it came down to NIL though.

Ohio state spent a lot last year in the portal. It paid off and now they are willing to do it again.

How bad does Texas want to win? If they aren’t willing to steal and scrap their way to it then that’s on them.

“Scared money don’t make no money”

Spoiler

Guy you aren't even willing to be tree fiddy or burnt endz at this point.

Talking about scared money don't make no money when you aren't doing the minimum here (maybe you are with the ONE Fund, but doubt it) is worthless

Edit: Tree fiddy / burnt endz may not be showing up correctly, and he says he gives to BE so apologies there.

Sure. It came down to NIL. We fucking won.

Also, seeing how Missouri's offense fared this past season, I'm guessing Missouri has no shot to get Wingo back.

I contribute to burnt ends. Idk how to get on that board because I use tapa (I know) . But RV CXO Consulting LLC takes money from me every month via PayPal.

Apologies then, mine isn't showing up either even though invoice was posted on fifth. Edited my comment above

Just for clarity, I wasn't saying Missouri was trying to get Wingo back, only that if we were taking a shot in the dark, that Wingo was high impact and NIL weighed heavily on the decision right down to the end. Overall I agree though.

That leaves Muhammad, and I lean towards potentially Baker? With Williams leaning towards returning and Goosby likely having LT locked down, I could see Baker heading elsewhere to start.

Nobody knows about Williams and the latest Intel posted here says it depends on his health in a few weeks

MM's cousin got an Oregon bag and MM has been openly talking about getting paid for a while now. He's gotta be one of the concerns. Hopefully it's not too late to get back in on Thaddeus Dixon (UW CB). Has Tacario signed?

Simmons was my other biggest worry but hopefully IT is right about him being locked in.

don't worry, that board doesnt get much in terms of activity anyway. Just keep smiling as the charge hits every month, and make sure to scream "Burnt Endz Bitch" everytime a tight end make a play.

To see where we’ve come at as a program where we are seeing 10+ NFL announcements is fantastic.

I'm obviously cheering for this to be true, but what are these kids or their intermediaries going to say to Nahlin or anyone else in this circumstance? Other than "Yeah, I'm locked in." That's also what they'd say to the the coaches...right until the point they're fucking gone.

It's like none of you ever had an employer before or fucked a crazy girl for awhile becuase the sex was great, even though she was a danger to your person. Actually, nevermind, now that I type it out, that last part makes sense with most of this crowd.

I thought 15th was last day for portal?

5 days to delcare for the portal from completion of the game, then 48 hours for the team to put you in the database.  You can still technically be in the portal without the school putting you in for those 48 hours, to my understanding.

It's kind of comical that the SEC decided to block in-conference transfers in the second window period later this spring. This isn't 2015 any more. The teams spending the ridiculous amounts on players are no longer located anywhere within that conference except for the state of Texas. The giant schools within the Big 10 are the actual threat now, dummies.

It's also interesting that the volume of money allocated in acquisition has gone in a lopsided manner towards the portal versus high school for many schools. 5 stars will still paid, but the real money is set up for producers at the CFB level. That will probably accelerate. We all speculated on this premise and now it is coming to fruition.

Production vs potential, makes perfect sense.

Not sure I have disliked a Texas player more than him in history. Maybe Kris Boyd.

You haven't disliked a player more in Texas history than Cam Williams? WTF. Why? He was inconsistent and drew penalties, but was also downright dominate at times. He wasn't a program problem or a shithead though. He wasn't even the most frustrating player on the Oline this season. To me, Conner getting stonewalled at the LOS and completely whiffing multiple times per game while pulling was infuriating.

Interested in hearing the reasoning behind this because I personally like good offensive tackles who are about to go in the top 2 rounds of the draft. Yes, the penalties sucked and weren't ideal, but he also went from backup to one of the top OT's off the board in the NFL draft in the span of 15 games.

He shouldn't have played against OSU. That was painful to watch.

I mean, he came about as close to single-handedly ending our season as it's possible for an OL to do. Overall good player for us, but I could see how someone might still be a bit salty about that less than 4 days after it happened.

I guess that was the point I was trying to make earlier.  How much do we (and others) continue to adjust when recruiting HS players.   I mean if we lose Manny for example, we developed him for 2 years and now lose him at the point where he should have his best season.   Would we have been better off using all the money we paid him on other rentals?  I get there really isn't an easy or correct answer and certainly have to do some of both.  And in theory with some players there will be actual loyalty (and/or a loyalty discount) to the program they signed with as long as they are treated 'fairly'.   If you could lock players into multi-year deals with material liquidated damages to terminate, it would make this easier to manage and I don't see how we don't get to that point.   As it is now, I assume very difficult to manage allocation of funds between recruiting and portal/retention.

I watched him warm up and was convinced he wouldn't play.  He looked less mobile and in more pain than Banks did warming up at the SEC Champ game.
