OU is interesting. They only signed 18 guys. 10th best class in the SEC and OL heavy. They’re rumored to have a bunch of guys leaving. Sharp wasn’t even one of them being discussed, but they’re for sure trying to add a quality TE.

They have 2 DEs left who have played at all. One is R Mason Thomas and he is pondering the draft. The other is the 5 star from years who hasn’t done much.

They’re deep at DT with quality as well.

They have a bunch of guys named Bob and JAGger at LB. One of the “next men up” at LB is that dipshit that ran his mouth about Texas during his recruitment and hasn’t done a thing inside their program.

Bowman is gone but they think they’re loaded at S.

Little Bowen is their guy at one CB position. They have no concrete candidates at the other spot.

They’re trying to portal over Hawkins at QB.

They think they’re fine at TB with Barnes,  Sawchuk, Tatum and some other dude. Seems like there might still be some portaling there.

At WR, they’re hoping Burks comes back after quitting on them during the season. Same for Anthony. Both might portal. Outside of those guys, their WR is absolute trash. Allegedly Farouk might also come back for another season, but that doesn’t change my opinion.

They have no talent at TE whatsoever.

They have to replace their OTs and just signed several good ones. Playing them early would be an interesting choice.

They lost both ST guys.

They’re in a similar situation to ATM in that they don’t have a lot of guys that I would trade for, outside of DT and Fasusi. It’s kind of comical how terrible their offensive personnel is at the moment.

OU is one of many teams who think they’re just going to clean up in the portal while also being poor. It’s going to be fun watching a bunch of these teams come up short and have to compromise in the land of the JAG that is most of the portal.

I'm guessing they'll get John Mateer at QB since they just got his OC. Little Elm kid. Haven't watched him but with good numbers so unfortunately seems like a good get

We need the best DT and best WR on the market.
We need stud punter and kicker. Everything else is just depth, right?

That seems doable.
it’s so refreshing to see our rivals more or less fucked.

Sounds like we're getting a safety, which makes sense since Williams is unfortunately looking like he's made of glass.

If Taffe comes back we could probably make do without one of any of the young guys are ready, but if Taafe doesn’t come back we need a starter quality stud would be my thought. Either way we probably, like LB, need 1 for depth if nothing else.

Mateer is great but it's going to take a hell of a lot more than just him to get that offense moving again.

Rumors out of USC are that Ja’Kobi Lane and Zachariah Branch will portal out.  Either / both would be great pick ups.

Branch kind of sucks at WR. He’s really only a burner and not much else.

Washington State is going to try everything they can to keep him. If he goes to OU it’s going to cost.

I’ve been following a little on their boards. They seem to think Lane goes home to ASU.

Dillingham has done a hell of a job there. The Big XII is parity embodied but getting ASU to the level of most equal (and without a real kicker) took real work.

This guy.  Somehow my daughter (no pics) at Bama knows. Maybe had a class together or part of a larger group that hang out a little, I don't remember, it was a couple of years ago.  But he was shooting his shot, a lot, at my daughter.  "Lets make D1 babies".  I hope this dipshit ends up in the FCS

Congrats on the grandchild.

On Blue - Unless he’s a locker room cancer, I hope he stays simply because he’s a big play threat and because RB depth is always appreciated. As things stand now, if he left, we’d be one Tre Wisner injury away from relying on Baby Rhino, two backs returning from bad injuries, and two freshmen.

For real. The "6-7 is too many RBs" talk is quite the take if you've followed Texas this year. They shouldn't overextend to keep Blue on but they should not be ushering him out the door or anything.

Branch or Barion Brown could be a good Silas Bolden replacement as returner and solid WR

Agree entirely with the idea of needing an RB. I like Tre, but I want a big guy in there and I don't trust Baxter's health at all.

What about the OL?

What about it? They have depth and they appear to be developing well. Start bringing in transfers there and it isn’t hard to think that it could rankle some promising players.

Just like last year, I would expect the feeling of all hell breaking loose through Wednesday this week. Not for Texas outside of guys realizing, with some help, that PT is likely elsewhere.  Nonetheless, going to be kind of crazy. Texas thinks they’re ready with players lined up. I guess we’ll see.

And how many good OL have portaled?

The LT from Rice is supposed to be pretty good. I haven’t watched him. OU thinks he’s theirs.

Rice to OU will be an interesting transition for the young man.

That’s what I think gets lost at times. You could push a back like Gibson in the portal and there’s a good chance he will be better than who you bring in. With 4 backs  available for the spring plus Terry I just don’t see the need.

Would have been with Baker for the 2022 season and obviously recruited by him.

Yep saw that in the link I added. He's had a year or two to compare Baker with his current coach...

I have to think any player worth a damn is going to be thinking about leaving Arizona. They apparently almost pulled the plug on Brent Brennan after 1 year but decided he would get a year 2. Just a massive coaching downgrade compared to Fisch.

Not sure I see a need. Maybe if there is a really high end, P4 all conference/Day 1-2 draft pick type but those don't often enter the portal in the first place.

Even if DJ and Cam both declare your starters look like Goosby-Neto-Robertson-Hutson-Baker, all of whom were promising prospects and have proved themselves to some degree. Sounds like the '23s are coming along pretty well so you'd have Chatman, Cojoe, and Stroh as key reserves. Agbo is still hanging around and has some experience from the 6OL package. If Campbell and/or Williams come back, even better.

OL really is a position you want to get your guys in early and develop them for a couple years and Flood's been able to lay the groundwork for that.
