A few questions for those more in know:

1. Is the Purdue DT another Trill Carter or is he a more complete prospect?  IIRC Carter was a multi-year starter, maybe even 2nd team all BIG at one point...is the Purdue kid seen as a better prospect?  The DT transfers-in this year have been solid for the most part.

2. Same question for the UCF DT

2. What's the feeling on Trey Moore?  Returning or Draft?  Would love to have him back.  Dont recall if he walked on SR. night.

3. Are the Texas players Texas  that portaled staying on the team through the end of the season, but are making it  known now they will be leaving?  Of all the guys, I know not many play a ton...just thinking about practice depth, late game subs (especially at DT) in the fortunate event we are up big and can rest guys (would obviously be a complete luxury to have that problem)

4. Havent heard of any RB transfer portal visits...my feeling is we need a back, given Blue's status as a portal risk/fumble issues, Baxter/Clark injuries, unproven depth, can Gibson be the guy etc... after DT, this need is most glaring imo

can we just ask questions for y'all to answer at my whim? that would be great for randos like me.

Ole Miss mod crystal balled Singleton to them.

What is Kiffin selling them? That he won’t again lose 3 games to unranked opponents and fail to make the playoffs AGAIN with a seemingly unlimited transfer portal budget?

Except the real life Rudy sucked

Every time I see Rudy mentioned, I think about that time Texas played ASU in Omaha and they would not shut the fuck up about how his nephew was on their team. I think they even interviewed him in his seat when ASU got the lead…and then Augie gave one of his famous speeches between innings and Texas walked it off in the bottom of the ninth. All the Rudy’s sucked and I look forward to finding that clip before the game in Atlanta.

On3 update on Justice Haynes, RB, ALA. Doesn't seem like Texas has scheduled anything yet.

Spoiler

Alabama transfer running back Justice Haynes officially entered the transfer portal last Friday. Now the former highly-ranked recruit is setting his visit schedule.
Sources tell On3 that Haynes is scheduled to visit Ole Miss and South Carolina this week. He will be at South Carolina from Monday to Tuesday. Other schools in the mix include Florida and Michigan. Ohio State has cast a wide net at the running back position and is significantly interested in Haynes, but it’s unclear where the Buckeyes rank on the running back’s list.
In his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, Haynes rushed for 616 yards and 9 touchdowns. During his high school recruitment, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back picked Alabama over Ohio Stat and Georgia. Haynes’ father, Verron, was a running back for the Bulldogs and a fifth-round NFL draft pick.
Ole Miss is targeting multiple running backs in this transfer portal cycle. The Rebels are in the mix for Louisiana-Monroe running back Ahmad Hardy. Ohio State’s running backs coach during Haynes’ recruitment was Tony Alford, who is now on the Michigan coaching staff. That has the Wolverines in the mix to land the Alabama transfer.
South Carolina has emerged as a popular portal destination this cycle, in part due to Shane Beamer’s program finishing 9-3 in the regular season. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers is another draw to play in that offense. The Gamecocks are set to lose running back Rocket Sanders, who rushed for 881 yards this season.
Flordia returns true freshman Jadan Baugh, who broke on the scene and rushed for 603 yards. Adding someone to complement would be a solid portal addition for the Gators.
The Buckeyes are significantly interested in Justice Haynes with Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson set to leave after this season. Judkins and Henderson have combined for 1,556 of Ohio State’s 2,030 rushing yards this season.

We’re not even sure how ready Baxter will be coming off two torn ligaments.

C’mon! Plenty of the board’s medical experts have already weighed in. He’s definitely coming back 100%.

Or not at all.

Or somewhere in between.

Interesting that this discourse didn't happen last year with Murphy, I get that we had Manning but for some reason people care now

Dellenger and his boys at College Football Enquirer are the first to make fun of the clutch my pearls people, unless they do it first.

It got plenty of run

Yeah, it covered multiple days of dialogue on XM84. I know it was covered elsewhere too, but I am not taking the time to look it up. Full Ride opened one of there days during bowl season with the story and discussed is for numerous segments during their next 2 days of air time.

  • closetojumping changed the title to Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Pato Del Muerto Steps Up With Blowjobs, Helobious Is Giving Out Handjobs For DTs

CJ and Gerry asked about this secret visitor. Said they don't believe there was any secret visitor and questioned how that would be secret for portal. The coaches may want it secret but it's in the player's best interest for it to not be secret so they can potentially get a bidding war between multiple teams.

Color me shocked it was bullshit

If anything that tells me more about the issues johntay Cook is dealing with. They won’t even sniff him anymore, yet are fine bringing in Hudson because he’s a “former 5star.” Good luck to Johntay, and good luck to that marriage of hell.

Which is why I didn't think there was any chance we would go after Hudson.

It's the same mold as Cook. A player with character issues that hasn't proven anything at the college level.

Not sure they’re comparable. Hudsons character issues just seem like entitled WR vibes. Cook seems to either be on drugs or he needs some prescribed.

If Sark doesn't recruit this kid, he truly is.a fucking moron. We have zero info or idea if/or Baxter will be 100%, plus this dude is talented as fuck. I wanted him and Baxter in our class and we finally have that chance if Sark doesn't go retard. Choice has to talk him into it since he's known him since he was 4. I don't want to go into another season of Wisner/Blue/Gibson because fumbling repeatedly is for retards. Not to Mention Clark as our primary back coming off an Achilles tear..Running between the tackles isn't what they're  built for

Haynes is built for that. He's also in the same class as Baxter. I've been wanting this dude forever. If Sark fucks this up and let's him go to fOSU, then he's dumber than I thought, and he's made some stupid in-game autist calls. This would be truly a malpractice. Take a load off Baxter to keep healing, add another stud to to relieve him. Splitting carries is good for RB's so they haven't reached their ceiling. 2 former 5 star RB's as 1a and 1b would be ridiculous. Sark better fwt his ass on the phone prionto..

We also csnnot rely on freshmen who need to develop, learn the plsybook add goos muscle to their frames so they're ready in 2 years.

What would the recruiting pitch be? Come here and battle for snaps with our current starter that's having a great back half of the season and our former starter returning from knee surgery who was the #1 back in the country in the 2023 class?

They aren't paying the money for a #1 running back because they don't need that, if one would even agree to come here with the competition in the room. I'd be surprised if they take any RBs unless Blue leaves.
