Wingo was receiving some criticism from one of the YouTube video review sites.  Called him out on 2-3 plays (I am pretty sure it was against AZ State) and explained in the videos the mistakes he was making on the play.  All route running related and when you run this route against this type of defense, you have to do _______  - and Wingo didn't read it right or should have been a couple yards over here where there was more room and so he wasn't available to Ewers, etc.  I will have to go find the video.

I don't think anyone thinks he was anywhere near perfect this year. But the idea is that the stuff he has to work on is coachable, while the elite traits he already has you can't teach.

Orakpo and Kindle

I think orakpo was dominant.  More power, maybe less twitch/speed to my untrained eye in comparison to CS.  I feel like Kindle never fully hit his potential, other then I think he was the one who killed TT mahomes before he became KC mahomes...

Kindle had 10 sacks and 14 tfl’s in 2008. His senior year wasn’t as great but he was dominant in 08.

Man the 08 team was so good. Fuck the Big 12

I feel great about where we are from a TE perspective. We've gotta figure out the burnt ends dinner. Does someone in Austin have any access to the austonian? I would like to use their event space for it, but it only makes sense if we get the resident sponsored rate.

If not we can do it at San Jac Saloon again.

+ rep for writing:

”…where we are…”

…rather than “…where we’re at…”

It’s refreshing to be reminded that at least some people that went to UT know English grammar.

The second worst hit ever put on Tech. The hit Nathan Vasher put on Carlos Francis, on that punt return is the most vicious hit I've seen in real life. That includes Blain Irby. That hit wasn't extremely violent, you just knew the result in about the remaining 0.20/second of the catch. I was heartbroken for him.

Brackens on their kicker. We have a history of nearly murdering Tech players.

*who went to UT

I considered that, but chose to use “that”.

I also sometimes place the period (aka “full stop”) at the end of a sentence outside of the quotation mark. (SEE PREVIOUS SENTENCE)

I’m okay with my choice.

Grammar-wise, there's nothing wrong with "where we're at," especially in this context.   Colloquially, "at" is often used to describe a metaphorical location, i.e., where we're "at" mentally or, in this context, where our tight end situation is at.

"Are" is used to describe a physical location. Grammatically, neither is wrong, although using "at" to describe a physical location is a tad informal. Not incorrect, just colloquial.

I am reminded of it several times per Coffee & Football podcast.

They carry a big colloquial stick and beat the shit out of their faithful listeners with it.

That said, I gave Big Immamac pos rep for not using “at”.

EDIT: My big(gest) error was that I thought that Sydney had written that, not immamac…

…who actually served his undergraduate time in College Station, if I’m not mistaken.

Perhaps I'm crazy in the head, but I think it might be Aaron Butler.

One thing for sure, Sark has always gone after WR, and has said he likes speed, so for him not  to not have gone after someone in the portal he had to have seen something that made him feel good about what we got or he’s waiting to the spring and will give everyone a shot.

Hopefully it is butler though

Who will handle the return game duties? Golden and Bolden took 100% of the stats their this year on ko and punt returns. I honestly thought we might take a transfer WR just for their experience in the return game.

Proben himself to be a team first guy, where does Niblett fit in to next year's plans?

That offensive line would have four players with three plus years in the program. Baker needs to be good for this line to not have a drop off. That one WR position could probably use a veteran upgrade if one became available.

Gerry brought up Nate Kibble as a name to watch. Coaches are apparently very high on him. He also went in during the OSU game on GL, so that confirms Gerry's thought.
