You're making my point.  This isn't about an ROI for the university.

Even during the height of their popularity (80 thru 95) they only averaged about 60% capacity at home games.

Their "fans" suck and it's a glorified commuter school like UH.

This is about the ego of a few (1 in particular) boosters.

Of course, now that Bezos' soon-to-be stepson, and Trump's granddaughter are about to go there I have a feeling the football roster is about to get significantly better.

Miami is not a commuter school.

Yea we need some OL help. An RB would be sweet but seems like that ship has sailed.

I have a feeling we’re all going to be bitching about the RB room management next year. From my perspective, they are more worried about hurting feelings than ensuring the best opportunity for success. I hope I’m wrong.

He's gone, but Bond could really benefit from another year in college. It probably won't make him a better practice player though.

Oh well, on to bigger and better things hopefully.

Bond was explosive prior to the ankle injury against OU, and not so much after that. We missed having a speed guy that could take quick passes to the perimeter for big gains.

Ohio State paid good money for Judkins when it already had Henderson on the roster. It has paid off for them.

Many thought we were set at RB, with backs nowhere close to Henderson or Judkins

Been thinking this. We ran sweep with a RB that was incapable of running down a DL over 90 yards

I get this but their injuries happened late, in August if I remember. Blue came off a decent season and Baxter was gonna be that guy. Injury happened and Blue/wisner are really RB 2s. I think Gibson should’ve received more playing time during the season. He can run down the middle better than they can. He’s young but at this point thats all you have on the roster this season. Blue fumbled more than him.

But after this season, they should’ve/should go after one. We dont know how Baxter is gonna be and the other rb was only a freshman who got hurt. He still needs to go through conditioning and practice which he lost. I doubt they do though.

They get great players on defense from the portal but offense outside of receiver they act like they have it all in house.

Is blue coming back ?

We need a jumbo running back whose only mission in life is short yardage.

Or even a full back Neanderthal. Or a troglodyte.

Anything to help Sark call simple power runs when needed.

I grow tired of the cute & ineffective red zone play calling.

Shouldn’t matter in the big scheme of things.

A larger back is also vital to pass protection. Two key elements the team was missing this season.

I’m fairly certain Ohio State signed him out of the portal, the WVU running back.

A big running back won’t solve the goal line issues if the O line allows penetration. For all the talk of our awesome offensive line, they haven’t been dominant this year. We have to be able to move people when we’re at the 1.

Story of the season right here. For all the time that's been spent over-analyzing every dropback and hitch Quinn has taken this season, you just aren't going to win games against elite teams if you can't run up the middle (most of our pass protection breakdowns also came right through the middle). More elite skill position talent is just gravy at that point.

If Helm blocks JT Tuimoloau, we probably score on that play. Gibson would just have to run over Caleb at the half yard line. Caleb (bought through transfer portal) read the play quick. Oline looked to have down blocked just fine. We had the kick out block by Sorrell too. But Helm practically whiffed on his down block assignment of JT. Gibson had to run into the mess instead of the play designed hole. It probably would have been a touchdown had he made that block. JT is a great player.

I love Jake Majors for his love of this university and incremental improvement each year, but he still lacks the strength necessary to have an elite running game. Hayden Conner is a pass protector but below average run blocker. You’re not gonna be effective running inside with those two next to each other. Texas has to decide if Conner’s pass pro is worth what he gives up in the run game next year. I’m bullish on Daniel Cruz, but he’s gonna be learning, we’ll see. I’m proud of this team and if Sark doesn’t call one of the most head scratching plays I’ve seen this year we might have won. Let’s get better.

Hence why I want this USC lineman, need more push and can have a better line. It’s better, trust me floor has improved the line a bunch but still not enough to be dominant

Which of these are realistic and stays another year? I want them all back.

I bet Taafe comes back.  With him and getting D Williams back from injury, we'll be solid.

I hope Bond and DJ Campbell come back.  Bond was fantastic before the injury.

I also think/hopeTrey Moore comes back.  Still not sure how that pass made it through his hands

Will be interesting to see who jumps in the motherfucker in the next 5 days..

Keeping any of Golden, Taffe, and Williams would be great for us. Moore would be great too, but we have more depth at his spot.

Williams needs to come back, his mistakes are back breaking, drive killing mental errors. Williams needs more reps to get a better feel of the game compared to just his physical traits.

That’s not happening nor should it. He’s projected by most as a first rounder.

Now that the season is over, does anyone have the full story on Bond? Was his disappearance really all injury-related or did he get in the dog house? He suited up for almost every game but became essentially non-existent and started getting outsnapped by Wingo who didn't do that much either.

It was also surprising to see Vasek suddenly getting real snaps last night. Has he played all year? Interesting time to throw him in there. Didn't watch him closely but seemed like he played well. Might be able to pencil him into the 2-deep next year.

Also, I withdraw my previous surprise about looking for a portal OG. Please get that USC guy.

I was pretty hammered last night and haven't read much.... did Burke get hurt at some point?

He played when healthy.

Bond is leaving. He’s getting Day two grades (2nd or 3rd) and will test well

if I can pick two to come back is Taaffe and Williams,

With D. Williams and Taaffe in the Secondary plus McDonald and Campbell , C. Williams, Baker and Goosby on the O-Line as a base that’s a good bases. Campbell has to get better though, he was a weak link.

Woukd like Moore to but we have others at that position. Would love Golden but I believe he’s also getting 3rd and 4th round grades

McDonald is already better than williams. He needs to be starting next season no matter what happens.

Interesting that banks isn’t on the list but Williams is.  I had kind of written both off as gone, but maybe cam wants a year at LT or just a second year of starting, or his nfl draft grade isn’t as high as assumed?

Ion think that’s necessarily true, I think at this point as a freshman he is, but both are strong run support but lack in the passing game.

Pure uninformed speculation, but if I had to guess: Golden, Bond, Blue declare; Campbell, Williams (no one's buying that first round talk after last night), Taaffe, Moore return.

It's more that there's no decision to be made for Banks. Foregone conclusion. He gone, as he should be.

We all know this but the NFL loves potential and upside

It’s also one play when looking at it through the scheme of NFL. Fucking painful for us. Not sure if Quinn was just getting ball out quick but that ugly motherfucker had a quiet night before that play.

The Cowboys drafted that scrub Guyton in the first. Good chance Williams will be drafted high (1/2 round) if he declares.
