It’s also one play when looking at it through the scheme of NFL. Fucking painful for us. Not sure if Quinn was just getting ball out quick but that ugly motherfucker had a quiet night before that play.

The Cowboys drafted that scrub Guyton in the first. Good chance Williams will be drafted high (1/2 round) if he declares.

OT is also probably at its highest premium in the NFL in recent memory. The lack of high end tackle talent is a known issue around the league.

The same “experts” that claim a player isn’t ready will tell you that Shedeur Sanders is a Top 3 pick.  He sucks.  He won’t do shit in the NFL.  He’s slow and has a weak arm.  He’s hyped because the media loves Coach Prime.

He was very far from 100% last night. This is kind of shitty.

Swing and a miss. Nothing to do with injury, it was bad technique from start to finish. He hesitated because of a LB that was already accounted for by Hutson, took a false step and just got beat straight up.

He's not ready for the NFL and it's incredibly obvious.

I think he could be a really good pro but going to a dumpster fire like the Titans or Browns will not end well.

Yes. And my post conveys that I thought the same for Williams.

Ah I got you. Not what I thought at first. We're belaboring that last 4th down but he had a really rough night last night overall. Not the first time Sawyer just smoked him.

OL and QB are the two positions that benefit most from coming back an extra year. I think he could certainly use one to clean up his game. He's going to have an extremely rough rookie year if he declares. But if the NFL is still telling him first round he should obviously go get that bag. Will be interesting.

We need a jumbo running back whose only mission in life is short yardage.

Or even a full back Neanderthal. Or a troglodyte.

Anything to help Sark call simple power runs when needed.

I grow tired of the cute & ineffective red zone play calling.

Sark needs to find someone to play the role of a traditional fullback in goalline sets that’s not just a defensive lineman. I think Baxter and Gibson with another year in the S&C program can be good short yardage backs, but they need someone in front of them to help clear the way.

Tigerdroppings has a couple of pages all thinking Derek Williams is about to portal to them.  Looks like a bunch of wishful thinking and the LSU On3 mod (Dixon) shot it down.

Considering Williams is out for the season, it doesn't make sense for him to wait until the last game to go to the portal. If he was leaving, he would have been in the portal already.

Now that the season is over, does anyone have the full story on Bond? Was his disappearance really all injury-related or did he get in the dog house? He suited up for almost every game but became essentially non-existent and started getting outsnapped by Wingo who didn't do that much either.

It was also surprising to see Vasek suddenly getting real snaps last night. Has he played all year? Interesting time to throw him in there. Didn't watch him closely but seemed like he played well. Might be able to pencil him into the 2-deep next year.

Also, I withdraw my previous surprise about looking for a portal OG. Please get that USC guy.

I also remember seeing a lot of Alex January in the first quarter, which was surprising. If they like him enough to play him in that game, maybe that explains why they haven't gone hard after another DT (yet).

Bond won't come back but he should. He wasn't the same player after the ankle injury. Before the OU game, he was considered a first rounder. I can't imagine that he still is and one more solid season would really help his draft stock - especially if he's using his speed to get open and catch long passes from Arch. I feel Cam Williams could also really benefit from one more college season. But he's got that first round grade so he pretty much has to go. Would love to get Golden back as well but I can't imagine that happens either.

I don’t see bond coming back at all.

I’m not sure we even want Bond back. For the cost we need a lot more production out of a veteran wide receiver. Taaffe coming back is a bit of a surprise.

Last night wasn't the first time he's been clowned or abused by a dynamic edge player. Not that I'm making any predictions regarding his draft stock, but it's a legitimate criticism.

He could be correct but I'm not gonna put much stock in a guy who covers the Cowboys for the Star Telegram knowing what's going on with Texas players.

He was at 247 for years on the Texas beat

I know this is like Christmas morning for you, but I think it's likely that being injured affected his play (which wasn't great).

I would love if Bond returned.. He was our biggest weapon when healthy.. He ran good routes and was explosive in screen/jet sweeps.

You just saw what a healthy Bond did against Ohio St. I think we should spend that money elsewhere, IMO.

The time Quinn missed + the time Bond missed clearly affected their rhythm. Golden and Helm became the top options with Moore sliding in as third and Bond never reasserted himself in the offense afterward. I think if we saw him back next year you would see a completely different result with Arch.
