Let’s think about this differently. You have a choice between two women. One is a 10, but you’re not a 10 yourself, so you’ll rarely get laid and have to watch her fuck other guys. The other is a 7, but will put out every night and you’ll be the only one fucking her.

Quick update for the 3 people here who care about Purdue football (3 might be an exaggeration).

I will not address their losses too much, other than that 3 QBs are out (Card - graduated, Davila - Nebraska, Browne - UNC), DT Brevard to Texas, Safety Thieneman to Oregon, TE Klare to tOSU.

3 QB in: Evans Chuba (Wash State, #79 QB in 2024 class), EJ Colson (UCF, #64 QB in 2024 class), Malachi Singleton (Arkansas, #17 QB in 2023 class)
7 UNLV transfers, composed of Starting CB and LT, 2nd team TE and LB, and some other folks who red-shirted.
3 Arkansas transfers: QB noted above, and what appears to be a couple of JAG LBs.
1 JAG WR from USC (Charles Ross - Grad transfer)

A handful of UNLV commits changed to Purdue.  Still optimistic, as I believe Odom and staff will be superior to Walters and his staff.  However, talent-wise: OUT >>> IN

Huge news.

I care in the sense that it would be nice for Purdue to resemble something other than roadkill when facing anyone in the Big 10. I know that’s not the norm, but watching them this year against Notre Dame and Indiana was truly disgusting.

The bottom of the Big 10 is worse than a G5 conference slate and that shit needs to get fixed. The ACC is an unfixable mess, so it’s expected. The Big 12 and SEC field more competitive bottom dwellers than what the Big 10 put out there this year.

Agree - Purdue was utter roadkill this year, and should not have been.  A competent staff wins 4-5 games with that roster.  Walters was in over his head - there were signs of it last year and was clear this year.

As noted before, I attended both the Notre Dame and Nebraska games in West Lafayette (decided to change plans and missed Oregon).  Notre Dame was an utter ass-kicking.  In no way did the the score indicate how overmatched Purdue was.  Purdue was leading over Nebraska (3-0) after the first drive of the 2nd half and proceeded to give up 28 straight.  At one point in the 4th quarter, Purdue had more penalty yards than offensive yards.

Odom is competent, so I am optimistic.  Fixing the mess is going to take a little time, though.

I appreciate a little synopsis of how other programs are doing, keep it up

That guy has bust written all over him. He needs to go to a small school and just focus on playing.

He is quite literally focused on going somewhere he can plays by transferring. I get he keeps going new places but he was behind Stockton and a true freshman so he was never seeing the field at Georgia.

Until this point, he has been entirely focused on who will pay him the most. It’s time for him to actually think about scheme, fit and playing time.

On the OTF podcast, CJ or Gerry had a pretty good insight on Texas DL transfer recruiting: They want 500 snaps, 3 years in P4 program. Shaw meets the criteria, so they’re interested.

Also basically said Branch didn’t have a production for Texas to throw their hat in the ring.

I mean, Branch has more production than AD Mitchell or Golden did, all as Sophomores...

Valid point. I wonder if the package deal with brother caused Texas to back off. OTF has never said this though.

Mitchell had a TD in every playoff game he played in at Georgia. Golden lit us up like a pinball machine with a bad QB. Those traits project.

Agreed about Mitchell and Golden.

Well, how many schools next season will have a qb with a playoff start under their belt?

True that I suppose.  No , really there are quite a few. TN, Clemson, SMU, Penn St, ASU, of course UGA...thats off the top of my head.   IU, NDU, Texas, tOsu, UO all gone.  Not sure about Boise.

Maddux is a RSSo, with no real pro prospects. He's going to be a Boise State 5 year guy.

Between Cole Brevard and Travis Shaw, that should cover NT (or over the center DTs). Two more DTs sounds good and there are bound to be options in the spring window.

These two both had a lot of production this season at the P4 level. I really like these additions. Shaw has big time upside, too, if he continues his development - which should happen under a coach like Baker.
