He lost my respect when he wouldn’t cut his hair like Ewers did. If you want all the attention, if you want to make it all about you, you better be able to deliver when it counts. He couldn’t.

UT Rio Grande football starts in 2025. I hope he transfers there and knocks up half the coeds.

On SoonerScoop, Stoia noted that OU is feeling good about Shipley, and are trying to keep him on campus until he commits (and that he is still there tonight)

my guy said he left.. not sure if he agreed or not though

He holds the UT record for most made FGs in a row (19)

First team all big 12 in 2023

Made more FGs for Texas than anyone else

Im indifferent on him leaving, but dude had one bad year.

This is because of Texas’s dogshit redzone offense. Auburn holding any school kicking records is a mark against Sark and his offense not against sign of Auburns abilities.

On the Shipley recruitment, I was hoping that the OU full court pressure strategy would be less effective on a transfer, than on a HS kid, just due to being older and (hopefully) more mature.

He'll still be a highly paid starting QB living in Westwood surrounded by one of the most attractive student bodies on planet Earth. I think he'll manage. His agent/dad's the one to watch out for.

I’m in Westwood on business and spent a couple of hours yesterday walking around campus and Westwood Village because I’ve never been here before. Gotta say, I expected better. I think their admissions standards have gotten too high. Not SEC-Ready.

This is what the SoonerScoop mod was posting late last night

If Texas really was off guard by the visit, sure adds a little more intrigue to the fact that the Auburn news broke yesterday while he was on campus.

"Hey Mason, how's Norman?  Did you see our starting kicker transferred...  Crazy timing, right?  Anyway, see you tomorrow!"

Not so sure about that.  Sark's issues were inside the 10 and we weren't kicking FG's from there.  Without looking it up, Bert struggled from outside the red zone.

If I learned that we paid Bert Auburn $1 million in 2024 I would probably never watch college football ever again.

My kids would be kicking a football everyday.

Avi is an ok guy in real life but he is a shit stirrer of the first order online.  All of those guys leaving werent a massive surprise for a variety of reasons except the top 2 Rbs and Ott was not that big of a shock either.  Cal fired its whole offensive staff and brought in Harsin and others who expect hard work and toughness.  Cal's culture on offense was Charmin squeezable soft.  Mendoza was already all but gone for a variety of reasons as was the top receiver who didn't like to play school and Nebraska doesnt care about that.  The WR coach left and took one guy with him.  Another is from DFW and transferred to OU to be closer to home.  Endries was always going to get paid somewhere.  Everyone else was buried on the depth chart except the top 2 RBs who are fitting the "we are massive pussies who dont like it when coach yells at us" stereotype to a T.

Kind of interesting that the staff seems to be prioritizing portal additions with multiple years of eligibility left. Mosely, Brad Spence, Kanu, Endries if it happens. They don't seem as interested in the one year rental types other than DT where they didn't have much choice.
