There is no introductory climate science class. Climatology isn't a science. It's a model. It's not a branch of science, it's a hypothesis. Not a theory of law, a hypothesis. Certainly not something you would teach as "Climate 101". Yes, you will probably find some counterexample. Don't care, it's not a branch a fundamental science.

Here's a question for you. If the earth stays the same temperature for the next 50 years (that you referenced), will the models be proven wrong or right? Hint: The question relates to 90% confidence intervals and their relationship with time. Fuck, I mean do you even know anything about the historical accuracy of the models (not a branch of science) that you worship?

1.) The study of the earth's climate is absolutley a science. Interestingly enough the earth has produced verifiable numbers for millenia and continues to do so. You're absolutely right that I can find courses in the top universities on the planet that treat the study of earth's climate as a science.

MIT:

12.003 Introduction to Atmosphere, Ocean, and Climate Dynamics

Prereq: Calculus II (GIR) and Physics I (GIR)
U (Fall)
3-1-8 units. REST

Introduces the dynamical processes that govern the atmosphere, oceans, and climate. Topics include Earth's radiation budget, convection and clouds, the circulation of the atmosphere and ocean, and climate change. Illustrates underlying mechanisms through laboratory demonstrations with a rotating table, and through analysis of atmospheric and oceanic data.

Stanford:

EARTHSYS 103. Understanding Energy. 3-5 Units.

Energy is the number one contributor to climate change and has significant consequences for our society, political system, economy, and environment. Energy is also a fundamental driver of human development and opportunity. In taking this course, students will not only understand the fundamentals of each energy resource -- including significance and potential, conversion processes and technologies, drivers and barriers, policy and regulation, and social, economic, and environmental impacts -- students will also be able to put this in the context of the broader energy system. Both depletable and renewable energy resources are covered, including oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear, biomass and biofuel, hydroelectric, wind, solar thermal and photovoltaics (PV), geothermal, and ocean energy, with cross-cutting topics including electricity, storage, climate change and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), sustainability, green buildings, energy efficiency, transportation, and the developing world. The course is 4 units, which includes lecture and in-class discussion, readings and videos, assignments, and two off-site field trips. Field trip offerings differ each fall (see syllabus for updated list), but may include Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, Shasta dam, Tesla Gigafactory, NextEra wind farm, San Ardo oil field, Geyser¿s geothermal power plants, etc. Students choose two field trips from approximately 8 that are offered. Enroll for 5 units to also attend the Workshop, an interactive discussion section on cross-cutting topics that meets once per week for 80 minutes (timing TBD). The 3-unit option requires instructor approval - please contact Diana Ginnebaugh. Open to all: pre-majors and majors, with any background! The course was formerly called Energy Resources.

Harvard:

Earth and Planetary Sciences 231. Climate Dynamics

The course covers climate dynamics and climate variability phenomena and mechanisms, and provides hands-on experience running and analyzing climate models, as well as using dynamical system theory tools. Among the subjects covered: energy balance and greenhouse effect, El Nino, thermohaline circulation, abrupt climate change, millennial variability (DO and Heinrich events), glacial-interglacial cycles, the ocean carbonate system and CO2 changes, warm past and future climates, and more.

Each school has many options on the physics and chemistry of climate change, but maybe you don't trust those liberal schools so let's check a conservative one...

BYU:

GEOL 108:

Climate and the Earth System

Chemical, physical, and biological processes shaping the Earth's surface and climate, emphasizing quantitative methods for measuring and evaluating contemporary climate and environmental changes relative to the last several thousand years.

2.) I never said the Earth wasn't going to warm in the next 50 years. The earth on the whole is currently warming as it was predicted to do so. I'm sure you'll find models that did grossly overestimate the pace of change as you'll find models that underestimate.

Interesting read and they put in some work.  It's definitely more a vision statement than anything else, but later they could put together a strategic plan to try and attack specific vision goals as needed, etc.

Look at this gigantic fucking brain we've got here. Just look at it people!

Explain to me why anyone would think the government controlling a country's food supply is a good idea.  Better yet explain to Ethiopians, Cubans, North Koreans, and Rwandans why anyone would think the government controlling a country's food supply is a good idea.

They should work for Exxon saying the exact opposite. Ya know cuz Exxon would totally pay and they're in it for the money and we all know how rich scientists are trudging around the Arctic measuring carbon in the frozen tundra flashing the cash on Instagram and living like a boss.

Exxon has already admitted in federal court that climate change exists and is driven primarily by carbon emissions from human activity.

Donald Trump, Sheila Jackson Lee, Austin City Council, most fans of country music and NASCAR, and my half sister all have one thing in common.  They all have some degree of Down’s Syndrome.

Governor “hot wheels” appreciates your concern.

If you can quote where I’ve ever made fun of him or any other disabled person, go for it.

Don’t conflate other’s behavior to mine.

I think it’s gross to use a disability as an insult, so I called him out.

Why you feel the need to jump in and white knight for an asshole and whatabout me on behavior I don’t engage in is interesting, however.

You know what I’d like to see you quote?

How bout where you called out someone on your team making fun of a disability like that.

G’head, post it up.

Until then you’re just another run of the mill hypocrisy peddler.

Selective butthurt is such a fun game, ain’t it?

How about you do that work, since you're so concerned?

I know, "it's the offseason".  Apparently you're always "off season".

Naw, it's more fun putting on the umpire hat from time to time when other wannabe umpires try their hand at just calling strikes against one side.  It's their job to prove up how they're not hypocrites when they're, well, being hypocrites.

Besides, it's more fun that way.  We're just having fun, right?  And you do know that there's no "work" to be done b/c she's never called anyone on that team out for similar utterances, right?  I mean, of course you know that.

You seem mad jimmy?  Why so mad?

That ole "ignore" button looks big and pretty, don't it?

Being addicted drugs is a disability, but you keep putting in icon's face.

lol I have to laugh.

Trashy, self admitted behavior is not a disability. Is buying cheap sports jerseys and getting them tailored for his curves a disability too? Because I make fun of him for that as well?

And I’ll keep throwing anything I please in the face of someone who makes personal attacks on me - with no basis in fact (I don’t see you bringing those up) - and someone who posted about being sad about not being an to shoot rubber bullets at women and children on the border.

Fuck him and fuck you.

The rush of trumpkins to defend one of their own for deplorable behavior is such an interesting study in psychology. Y’all get defensive because deep down you know it’s gross but if you actually admit that you’re afraid you might actually acknowledge a great deal of the garbage you’ve been defending blindly for two years has been gross.

I really tried to give Republicans the benefit of the doubt because I’m friends and family with a great many of them but the last two years has relieved me of that burden.

Anyone still identifying with the party of Trump is not worth bothering with.

And I’m seriously still dying laughing at you equating going after literally the worst human being that posts on this board for behavior he actually admitted to and equating to a disability.

Hope you didn’t pull a muscle with that reach.

All I keep seeing you antagonizing him.

I mean Brisket said worse, but they both apologized and icon still doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from you which seems like you just can't help but hate people who think differently than you.

I live in Portland Oregon, and I'm still friends with people who are politically different than I as well, but you don't see me crying about it, or them distancing from me for the same reason.
