Do you think there should be two or more classes of citizens?

Why make distinctions between the opinions of US citizens based on anything other than citizenship?

Calling Pelosi racist/sexist (re: women of color) based on narrow evidence with no attention to context or even that she is woman herself who came of age in times where women were treated similarly to racial minorities is some pretty lame sophistry. Is there any real evidence anywhere that Pelosi even entertains racist/sexist opinions?

Bringing up her possible racism in the context of a discussion about Trump is absurd. It's like comparing Jefferson Davis to Abraham Lincoln because the Emancipation Proclamation didn't free all of the slaves. See, Lincoln was pro-slavery after all! What's the difference between Abe and Jeff?

There's one class of citizens (legal).   AOC's own words are calling into question Pelosis comments about the group of 4.

Oh that's some first class BS right there Roma.  Was AOC wrong for saying Pelosi singled out for women of color ?

I DO NOT SUPPORT him making the comment in the way he made it. I do have no issue with calling out someone who comes here as a penniless immigrant, is financially supported by the federal gov't, and then begins trashing that gov't. and or tries to change the way that gov't functions (supporting open borders, sanctuary cities, free [non critical, immediate] healthcare for illegal immigrants).

Saying love it or leave it is BS.  Saying, hey if you can do better elsewhere go ahead, and don't let the door hit yer ass on the way out is not racist in and of itself.  I don't give a fuck what color your skin is.  I'll put a good bottle of Bourbon on the fact that's a pretty typical comment made by Texans of people who move to Texas, and then bash it. (ya don't like it ? fuck off).

Anyone here planning to emigrate to a foreign country, adopt it as your home, and then begin trying to change it ?

Yep, that's just a racist though...

IOW, you don't deal w/ uppity, dark citizens.  Own your racism.

And, holy shit, saying "...that's a pretty typical comment made by Texans of people who move to Texas..." is the same as the president of the fucking USA telling a group of congress women to go back to their own countries...when 3 of 4 were born here.is about as retarded as retarded gets.  JFC

There's currently one class of citizens (legal).  Previously, there were multiple classes of citizens, including slaves and women who couldn't vote and were segregated by law etc.  Then along came some other citizens, some of whom were penniless immigrants, who may or may not have been financially supported by the federal gov't, and then began trashing that gov't. and trying to change the way that gov't functions.  And they mostly succeeded.  See my first sentence.

There, I fixed that for you.  In the interest of accuracy.

Can you summarize this for me, please? Seriously. I don't have all the facts.

Pelosi backed off in a presser about the squad a few days ago deflecting.

The squad comes out yesterday at 5PM to do a nationally televised on all cable news channels press conference going right for the throat of Trump.  Such an overt and public move had to get clearance from Pelosi first.

It’s also noteworthy Pelosi wasn’t at the press conference standing in solitude with the squad.  This distraction is likely good for Pelosi because it takes the heat off her for not impeaching.  It appears she’s okay with them going on offense against Trump to weaken him but they’re going to have to do it alone.

The GOPs who have actually left have generally renounced the hate engine as well. It wasn't likely their primary reason for being GOP in the first place. They're embarrassed to have been deceived into thinking they were voting for fiscal responsibility and more liberty.

You're talking about people, evidently like yourself, that stamp in outrage because i remember the past and accurately summarize it. There's nothing new in my post about what the right has said and still insists about the ebil libs. You're probably listening to it on the radio as I type.

For decades you would have characterized me, because I tend to vote Dem although I'm surely no bleeding heart, as a wild leftist who hates America and actually wants to destroy what defines America. You would have projected everything your opinion leaders do onto me. I have the wicked agendas. I lie about what I really mean. I am defined by the acts of criminals who act for causes I support.

The R party has shown that it doesn't care about any of the conservative principles that they've touted for 30 years. They are certainly enjoying the dividends that the hate engine has paid and is continuing to pay. No D idea is worth considering. There is no working across the aisle in Trumpworld. The R gatekeeper in the Senate won't even take up many D bills passed by the House, and the Trumpkins are just fine with that. The D legislation is probably just lib garbage focused on Socialist environmentalism, feminism, govt healthcare, etc. Rush has warned us about this for 30 years.

A lot of the libs on this site are disaffected Rs who grew up during Reagan/Bush. Many of us probably have disagreements with D policy. However, it doesn't have to be a binary choice as RushFox always portray it. AOC and others are for the Green New Deal. Okay. Let's talk about that in hearings. Let's hear what members of Congress have to say about that. Let's allow voters to contact their reps and voice their opinions. Let's pass some bills and vote on them. Nope. Evil Libs only have bad intentions.

We have a functioning healthcare law that ensures that millions of Americans have access. As a R, you have problems with it? Okay. Let's discuss it via hearings/bills/conference committees/votes. No? You don't want to fix its inadequacies with legislation? You decide you'll tear it apart with death by 1000 cuts via EO. Cool.

Yeah, they don’t need her permission to call a press conference. Unless they are already being assimilated into the machine.

Yeah no, they absolutely need to run it by Pelosi before they do a nationally televised press conference.  However, Pelosi was in no position to deny them but they absolutely let her know all the details about it first.

That's a complete waste.  Nobody is going to primary her, and even if they do, it will take a grassroots effort to beat her, and grassroots are her thing rather than the old establishment's thing.  The only way she loses the primary is if the DSA falls in love with someone running against her.  That's incredibly unlikely since she is their primary spokesperson now, but if it did occur, no amount of money would help her win the election without her core voters.

The general election in NY-14 is entirely pointless.  The Dem nominee could spend exactly $0 on it and still win comfortably.

She should tell people thanks, but ask them to donate to candidates that need it.  Or to the DSA itself so they can GOTV around the country.  Most of that money is coming in from other districts anyway.

I have no idea what she spends her money on, but I would think Trump's actions and words make things more expensive for Ds in Congress. From security to hiring extra staff just to fact check the BS that he flings against the wall. $$$ to travel to the the border to try to conduct oversight of the concentration camps. Not to mention time and money just to do the job to which you were elected.

It's not a waste at all for people who support her agenda.  First, it sends a message to Dems across the nation as to what kind of grassroots support there is for those who speak out strongly on progressive issues.   That makes other Dems more likely to join her.   Second, it gives her more power within the party.   Anyone who can raise that kind of money so easily can do so for others or the party itself.   AOC isn't the one worried about being primaried; moderate Dems are worried about being primaried by someone backed by AOC.  And the better she can fundraise without compromising her message, the stronger her position is to threaten moderate Dems.

Do I think she's a raging racist ?  No, I do think she's of a generation, and a childhood when, and where racism was much more endemic in society. I'm also willing to bet if her grandchild came waltzing into the room with a black guy on her arm she'd stroke out (except for the photo ops). She's a typical, long in the tooth, democrat politician talking a good game about social equality, racial harmony, and unicorns, and will use those concepts to help further her career, and power base.

She's pissed at the youngsters for going off the reservation as much because they're young, and her perceived "F" you to her power. That they're women of color only adds insult to injury. Don't they know how hard she's worked for "their people" her entire career ??!

It's a bit suspicious that AOC would make the comment "singling our four 4 women of color". That wasn't just some throw away comment from her, or would you disagree ?

So you’re making things up based on zero facts?

Can we get a Cliff's Notes of the vile, racist, anti-American comments made by any of the four women? I know Omar made a comment about foreign money influencing American policy/elections. So anti-Semitic. What were the others?

We are talking about two different things.  I’m talking about not being poor.  Which any healthy American can do if they make the right choices.  You’re talking about financial success.  Which most of the time will take a generation or two from not being poor.

My great grandfather came from nothing. But he worked hard, made good decisions and wasn’t poor.  Had two sons.  One a doctor who died with a 9 figure estate.  Another was my granddad who built a company from scratch into one with 20k employees and over $2 billion in annual revenue.

Any American born healthy that makes the right choices can go from nothing to not poor.  And then it’s on their progeny to see about being a financial success.

Johnny, I'm not attacking here, but I need to point something out.

I'm doing quite well these days, and I count my blessings every day.  But...

I worked for a bank for 10 years.  I was a faithful, hard-working, loyal employee.  The bank went under during the S&L crisis, and took my retirement account with it.   It was a major setback for me.  Did I make a "bad decision" by working there?     I was in my 30's when the shit hit the fan.  I knew guys in their 60's that worked there.  One of them should have had a nice retirement.  He's at walmart, last I heard.  I suppose he made a "bad decision" by holding too much stock in the company?

I'm not quite there yet.  I'm still holding on to a shred of "all trump supporters aren't racist, but all racists are trump supporters", but I'm really getting to the point that yeah, you pretty much need to be a racist to support this asshole.

I'm sure that there are people that liked Hitler's economic policies but weren't so happy with the whole jew-killing thing, but hey, it's a package deal.

It's time for decent people say "fuck trump, whatever good he does is more than offset by the bad he does".  Kinda like the way people used to say "Fuck obama, whatever good he does is more than offset by the color of his skin".

Probably not.  But what did i say that wasn’t true?   Most folks do a lot of stupid shit because they had stupid parents who didn’t teach them to make the proper decisions.  And then have an entire political party who tells them it isn’t their fault.  And that it’s someone else’s fault and they will punish the evildoers to make their lives better in return for a vote. Of course that doesn’t work and doesn’t help them.  And they go on to reproduce with kids that make the same stupid choices.

Why is that so controversial?  Maybe teach that instead of telling people they are victims that can’t  succeed because the game is rigged against them (solely as an effort to harvest votes)

Great ideas.  It would awesome if the playing field were level, but it isn't, and jackasses like you love to fool yourselves into thinking it is.

Let's face it -- guys like you can fuck up half of that list and still survive just fine, because of the family safety net.  This allows you to prosper and lecture others on how to survive.  There are all kinds of people with one (or no) parent, and that parent is probably pulling 70 hours a week at 2-3 jobs, and they check every box on your list but never have a fucking grip beyond a fingernail at actually advancing because they spend all of their time and money just trying to keep their loved ones afloat, but by God you told them, you sanctimonious jerk.
