You should feel bad about your privilege and lecture others on their privilege.  Because that’s what the poor need.

The poor need a more egalitarian distribution of societal wealth.

I vote for that every chance I get. I love it when your taxes go up.

I’m not. But I will respond when being attacked for stating obvious truths.  You libs won’t address the merits,

Because they aren't truths. They are arbitrary rules that the privileged class knows it doesn't have to follow. See, Donald J. Trump and Johnny Sack.

Well, I follow all those rules.  And I’m not poor.

you were never going to be poor.

the stress of being poor literally changes your body chemistry.  and you've never experienced that.  but you sit there in your tear down in not river oaks telling poor people that they just need to make better decisions.  never once acknowledging that the stress of being poor proscribes those decisions to begin with.

And you tell them they are oppressed victims.  You think that’s a healthy message?

or maybe do you want them to stay that way for political purposes?

Just like the political party you support wants them to stay that way for political purposes by oppressing them.

Weird.

No.  I want every able bodied American working and making good choices.  Paying people not to work or making it easier for them not to work is horrible policy.

Amazing how despite no access to welfare, non English speaking illegals can manage to work enough to feed themselves and send money back home.  Wonder why that is?

A modicum of self respect.

No, you don't. You want white people to stay in charge. That's why you vote the way you do.

the people who would make a dangerous journey and leave home and family thousands of miles behind for an uncertain shot at a better life are remarkable people?  wow, who would have thought that?!?

Since you don't support keeping people poor for political purposes, you obviously support raising the minimum wage to $15/hr, right?

Speaking of welfare, this looks like a really interesting read:

In the 1970s, Ronald Reagan villainized a Chicago woman for bilking the government. Her other sins—including possible kidnappings and murders—were far worse.

ahhhh...the JimmyJazz model in full swing

1. Completely run out of ideas

2. Recklessly and indiscrimiantly accuse everyone of racism.

3. Allow for those supporting AOC and her pals' "victimization" to somehow fill the void of the vacated "Mueller Report"

4. ???????

5. Wonder why Trump is the President, will be the President again prior to his daughter becoming the President.

My God are the Dems fucking stupid. ...and I really wish that they weren't, but this is off the rails now and it is not getting back on track in my lifetime.

Y'all are even canabalizing each other now and calling Pelosi a racist....forcing her to get up in front of the House in order to call everyone else a racist.

This is what happens when the JimmyJazzes are allowed a modicum of exposure....the light comes on and the truth comes out.

Thanks alot, assholes.

There’s a fantastic podcast about this woman and how Reagan’s vilification of her turned into the dog whistle trope that’s still with us today.

It’s called “The Queen”.

More people involved and caring about our political future is a net positive but considering the republicans and their leadership are now the party of bigoted dickheads, I’m fairly certain nobody is gonna beat aoc, and right now I’m not exactly a huge supporter of hers. Her celebrity focus is a legit knock on her but she is getting shit done (or at least trying to; can more real Americans please call out the traitor trump?!) on the national level so it evens out.

Also the article quotes the candidate as implying aoc hasn’t done anything for her area, you can’t claim that without backing it up. I’d hope that post trump people would believe in facts but odds are we won’t. Sad days.

What precisely has she gotten done ?  She's made a high profile splash so far. She's some really great egalitarian thoughts on government that I agree with, but so far that's all they've been thoughts, and words in front of the mic.

Right, lot of publicity but off the top of my head reps should be conducting hearings, proposing bills, voting. Think she’s done that.

But the main point for me is that the candidate is saying aoc has done nothing. I’d  like the person making accusations and opposing aoc to back them up with facts and not just make trumpian claims.
