Ah yes, you are just too stupid to understand and I'm too smart argument.

If someone can't acknowledge the implications of a state taking in a relatively high or low level of federal funding per dollar of federal taxes assessed, then yes, they are too stupid to argue with.  It should be part of the discussion.  Thank you for elevating said discussion to unseen heights, though.

Chuck Todd asked Bill de Blasio this morning if he could do a better job of explaining the difference between tax incentives and tax revenue to people, using AOC as an example. She said some shit about how the $3 Billion "given away" to Amazon could be better used to invest in the community, pay teachers, build affordable housing.

The use of tax incentives is not a terribly difficult concept, and even podunk municipalities routinely deal with it, e.g., TIRZs. A member of Congress ought to know this shit inside out. The $3 Billion she is talking about is not in a treasure chest and being handed to Amazon. It is money New York would waive in return for the jobs, revenue, and economic growth that Amazon would bring. If she debated de Blasio on this, she woud look really, really bad. Side question: has she ever debated anyone?

That said, I'm rooting for her, but if she has BIG economic dreams/goals, she needs to understand basic shit like money, taxes, etc.

So sweeping standardized policy and statements don’t seem like a great idea when comparing populations in the US.

And who’s responsibility is it for making the cost of living so high in those states?  Is it fair to subsidize those people because they pay red state taxes only to see them move away at retirement and enjoy the inflated salary related benefits  in a lower cost state.

Does McDonalds charge 9.99 for a happy meal to keep up with the inflation?

this selective socialism is so hard to keep track of.

A lot of the blame for high housing costs in California can be blamed on Prop 13.

It’s corporate welfare and somewhat picking winners and losers.

Those Amazon jobs aren’t disappearing because they pulled out of NY.

Those are Elizabeth Warren-type points, which are coherent. AOC was talking about spending $3B in (hypothetical/contingent) waived tax revenue from Amazon on public infrastructure, goods, etc.

California also ranks second to last in affordable housing. Just in front of Hawaii. But this will change when Hawaii gets their high speed train to replace air travel tourism.

California and Hawaii are expensive states to live in?  No way!  Next you're going to wow me by telling me living near the ocean and mountains near lots of jobs is more desirable and costly than living in the plains of Kansas.

So you’re telling me that NIMBY regulations that prevent the construction of new homes and allowing neighborhoods to become more dense is not a problem in California. Why don’t you do some reading and get informed first before spouting off like a moron. It’s Sunday. You have time to do so.

5 out of the top 10 for cities with the most homeless belong to California. New York is number 1.

the truth is the the socialist movement leaders Hail from the states that are the worst offenders of all that they accuse conservatives of. They dropped the standard of living in their own states and want to blame someone else for their issues while trying to put on a carafe that they are a model for the rest of The country.

california has perfect weather.  if you're homeless the rational choice is going to california.

Can’t wait until AOC goes to Hollywood to confront the crazy income inequality on set. These actors make evil salaries of millions of dollars for months worth of work while the crew, extras, janitors, caterers and security guards make Pesos on the dollar compared to their Co-workers. Often times they must claim unemployment once their contact runs out until the next project is found.

These salaries are morally wrong and this inequality must be addressed immediately.

Then, we go for professional sports!

It’s also why a ton of the mobile wealth that can choose their location do so, as well as business. (See the +100k immigration)

Corporations and those that can afford it choose it for the same reason. Then we laud their welfare to red states (who offer a way cheaper cost of business but a less desirable location - See Amazon in NY).

100k in Midwest or California dollars? It makes a difference.

My wife’s cousin is a high school grad and is an admin assistant at a tech company in Walnut Creek and makes $80k. She has two kids and scrapes by with a monthly deposit from grandma. Looking at an income amount with no reference she would appear solidly middle class. Take her out of California and she’s making $35K and probably on assistance.

Same with a lot of those 100k earners. They’re not making close to that when they leave. The real high middle class earners in CA are making well more than that.

Making a six figure salary require welfare for housing and benefits isn’t something to brag about. It’s hyperinflation subsidized by the government

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/san-francisco-households-qualifications-for-low-income-housing-2018-6

San Francisco is so expensive that households making over $100,000 a year qualify for low-income housing

maybe if the government would stop funding this corporate welfare the market could actually correct itself. Business would need to pay a cost of living wage to those households, relocate or close. The minimum wage would have to rise because of not there is no way anyone could afford to stay. Workers would leave as well. The inequality is exacerbated by the state government welfare allowing this.

You should probably address the fact that blue states in general fund red states, because conservatives are Federal tit-sucking lowlifes:

I was shocked at how many landfills and waste sites South Carolina had when I drove from Greenville to Myrtle Beach my one and only time setting foot in that state. I think I heard that surrounding states pay South Carolina to literally take their shit.

Well I came into this thread hoping to learn a bit about who she is and where the obsession came from...google news has an article about her at the top every few days, and a quick check of FN shows about a half dozen articles as ‘headlines’ attacking her.

So I guess she’s the new HRC living rent free in the rights head, complete with memes from grandpa on Facebook. Looks like she’s over reached a bit and needs to tone down the spotlight, but I was expecting more concrete criticism of her instead of a flame war over...well whatever that was about states.

Carry on.

She’s definitely lost a lot of her momentum and gusto with this latest humongous gaffe ($3bn idiocy and adding her boy toy on staff). Curious to see how her political handlers and the power brokers behind the scenes manufacture for her a way out and up again. Maybe a saucy tweet or a new pencil skirt dance video or maybe a new hairdo?

Wait now you care who gets hired? Jared is still cool though right?

I honestly don’t care. Good for her I say, but it seems a great many care about the idea of nepotism (for some reason) on both sides of the aisle.

You're a god damn piece of shit liar spreading fake news.  You should be sent to the gulag since your orange god doesn't like people who spread fake news.

Her boyfriend isn't on staff.  He has an email address to have access to her official House calendar.

Quote

While he’s not officially a spouse, Roberts can have access to House email for calendar purposes, according to the office of the Chief Administrative Officer of the House.

“From time to time, at the request of members, spouses and partners are provided House email accounts for the purposes of viewing the member’s calendar,” said David O’Boyle, a spokesman for the administrative office.

But I'm sure the Chief Administrative Officer is just a big libtard protecting her.

Now now everyone needs to just leave her alone, She's just not schooled yet in the basics of governing, economics, business, capitalism, socialism,  politics and the actual reality of those concepts apparently.

She fucked up using her own idealistic words. Maybe she should stop using her words for a while, and try listening and learning instead of speaking when she doesn't understand what she's saying.  Naaaaaaah not gonna happen. I predict doubling down as she's patted on the back by other idiots who understand even less than what she says.

What she should concentrate on are the things she and most people can see that Congress does that are double standard protectionism of themselves or their party. That's were she could be effective immediately for all citizens of the country..

So now you’re acknowledging AOC is powerful and has accomplished something.

That’s a 180 from where you were.

Never said jack about her effectiveness, just said she doesn't know what she's saying and at some point it'll bite her in the ass (SEE:Amazon pulling out of the state).

Quite the retort there sport. You might wanna work on some better cognitive skills.

Lol okay. Like I said, even if she were trying to give the guy a cushy job so they can be together more, it’s not that big of a deal and good for her I say. If it’s just that you have to be on the government domain to see outlook calendars then it’s just bad optics for those who care about such things. Again my point is mostly who cares, but I guess you do.

Keep backpedaling Orca you fucking troll twat

Investigation ?   into what ?  Her lack of fundamental understanding of business, economics, etc ?  Her actions that affected a Muti billion dollar company to rethink coming to NY because of her comments ?  What's there to investigate ?
