but hey, don’t let that stop the lot of you from claiming to be victims of mine. you guys just keep on making it personal and attacking me, because at the end of the day there’s 20 of y’all and one of me and you can all conclude that your own personal attacks and shit talk are my fault, that i’m out of line for even responding to those posts, and that *i’m* the one making this thread about me.

It’s always felt like an inevitability, but it is still surprising that it took 20+ years before we’d have an interaction where I was included in one of your idiotic manic episodes.

Regardless, I’m negging everything you’ve posted here and hope many others do the same. The football board does need gatekeeping, actually, precisely for moments like this where a shitposter comes unhinged and decides to ruin the experience for everyone else.

you all, for a 100% fact, have been wildly combative and insulting over the most benign posts, not me. it’s schoolyard bully mentality. you gang up on one person you don’t like, and then you blame him for it. rinse and repeat. you never have a problem with someone taking pot shots at me, but you have a huge problem whenever i respond to that person. to a man, y’all take zero accountability for starting, escalating, and perpetuating all of this. you just blame me, move on, and then do it again.

i can’t make you people act like this, i don’t have that power. same as i can’t make you take responsibility for the fact that YOU made it personal are now upset at where the thread’s gone after 15 of y’all thought it would be a good idea to personally attack me, derka, over a football post. YOU did this shit. not me. fucking grow up, and stop whining about the mess that YOU created.

i welcome @immamac taking appropriate action at the people who started and continue to perpetuate this entire mess. this started with me posting about gunnar helm and then went down the drain when a gaggle of other posters took pot shots at me for it. i am not the one who started all of the insults and shit talking. i am not the one who made it about me, and i cannot control 25 other posters who’ve decided to take it there.

@immamac i’m not going to make any more posts in this thread that aren’t germane to the thread topic, and for my part in this i apologize. that said, i will stress again that i am not the one who derailed this thread with personal insults and pot shots. i was posting about football.

I'm genuinely asking - do you mean move up into the second round? When people say "slip" I usually think of a move down, but I haven't seen anyone suggest that Cam would be in the first round.

To the extent you're saying he could move up to the second - I'm not sure I see it. He didn't do anything at the combine other than get measured. Although he has the size teams definitely want, he will need to show some athleticism to go with it if he wants to move.

Seems like he will be somewhere around the 8th to 12th OL taken, which would put him generally in the third round.

Is Jahdae being mocked in the 20s because of team need ahead of him or typical corner draft position (or both)?

I feel like I've seen DBs go pretty high before but maybe that's only the elite elite prospects and not the elite ones.

The gulf with Shadeur is interesting, too. Seems like the consensus is either someone takes a flier early but if not he could fall way down the board.

I wonder if what Worthy did last season gives our WRs a little bump because if you redrafted '24 he's probably a - what - top 15 pick?

By slip I meant move into the second. All it takes is one team to get excited about a guy. We have all seen guys get drafted a lot higher than they should have been. I am just saying it would not surprise if a team took a flyer on Cam in the second round.

If he tests well at the pro day, I could see him rocket up the draft boards. Otherwise, I think it's hard to justify taking him in the second on his size alone. He's only got one year as a starter under his belt and he was very mistake-prone.

But you're absolutely correct about it only taking one team. Maybe he gives a great interview or just blows a coach away with his physical presence. It's definitely happened before and I hope it does for him.

I've seen Alfred Collins, Isiah Bond, Cam Williams, Andrew Mukuba and Quinn Ewers all in the second round in at least 1 mock draft that's come out since the combine. They all won't get drafted in the second, but any of them could.

A Bleacher Report mock draft that came out today has Kelvin Banks falling out of the first round. Which I find shocking considering he measured 6'5" at the combine, seemingly putting to rest the concern that he's not tall enough to play LT. And they have like 5 guards going before him too, as though Banks couldn't slide down to guard and be dominant.

It's a shallow OT draft, so I agree that there's a decent shot someone takes him as a developmental OT similar to what Houston did with Fisher last year

The two best connected draft guys have said after the top 10-12 guys, there's a group of about 40-50 players with similar grades, which makes it easy for someone to slip in mock drafts

I think the Texans would take him if he fell to 25 and do just that. Move him inside until Tunsil or Howard are gone.

There are concerns that Jahdae isn't tall enough to be a true cover corner in the NFL. Many teams see him only as a slot corner. His value is his flexibility and experience playing a different position every year in college - and excelling at each, improving year over year. But he doesn't have the frame of an ideal, classic shut-down cover corner. It may come back to bite teams that passed on him in the ass and he may be a perineal all-pro. But he's still valued enough to be a first round pick.

That's a great signal that you can ignore that mock as garbage. Honestly, the mock that is reliably "good" is Daniel Jeremiah's. PFF's big board is also a good indicator, although it doesn't take into account team needs / trades / etc.

That's not answering my question. He's being rated as basically a consensus top 12 prospect - with a couple evaluators putting him top 10.

He has been dealing with an injury for quite a while. I am not sure when it first happened. Its odd we havent heard a thing about it, especially since he didnt perform at the combine. He shot up the draft boards in the first half of the season. I could see someone convincing themselves the last 4-5 games can be attributed to health issues.

Needs and a gap between Hunter and everyone else, for Barron. There are multiple teams in the top 10 that need help in the secondary but have more pressing needs. The Giants, for example, need help in the secondary but QB and OL are higher priority. Jacksonville also needs secondary help and my non-expert guess is they're hoping Hunter falls to them...but he's probably gone before 5. After that it's the 49ers, Steelers, Packers, Vikings, Lions...and all but the 49ers pick in the 20s. Most scouts grade Barron below Will Johnson. That logically puts him in the 20s.

For Shedeur some of it has to be that he hasn't exactly shown himself to be a leader on the field, and has said some things that are puzzling for someone who has access to PR specialists and has some exposure to what bad PR can do to a player. A buddy of mine who played in the NFL said early in the season that he's a 3rd-round talent with a 1st-round mouth and name.

I've seen Collins as high as the back half of the first. Lots of folks linking him to the Steelers.

As @TonyTexas pointed out, I doubt Banks gets past Houston @ 25. The real question is whether Houston would trade up to grab Banks if he slid past the Dolphins.

He is the best pocket passer in the draft, but I would not be excited about picking him if I were the guy who had to pull the trigger.

Yeah. Where he goes is probably what dictates which player you get--the arrogant asshole who throws his teammates under the bus? Or the talented-enough-but-not-elite pocket passer?

Your point about team needs is good and reminds me that pretty much all of this is academic until we see how free agency goes. Guys could shoot up or drop based on whether teams can fill gaps before the draft.
