thats like choosing between adding a cat turd or a dog turd to your morning coffee. Fuck em both. The draft "industry" that the NFL has managed to build into their marketing is really something, but they run circles around the other leagues in terms of marketing. but the downside to that is having these fucking dorks that probably never scored a touchdown in their lives pretend like they are NFL talent gurus. They are somehow worse than the entirety of  the $9.95 jock sniffers at the collegiate levels.

And here’s some of the Bill Tobin stuff, I wish they hadn’t candied up his initial response to Mort, but the later stuff at the news conference was good.

They took Marshall Faulk in that draft, right? Marshall Faulk was must-see late Saturday night college football. He was awesome.

I don't even remember where Trent Dilfer went to college, out west at one of the smaller schools if I remember a bit. Yeah, he was good but, not generational.

Faulk was fantastic.

I'm just here to watch the Browns pick Shough and for the ensuing Kiper meltdown.

Rimbo's not pulling this out of his ass. Albert Breer thinks Shough goes to Cleveland instead of Sanders.

Breer dropped a bunch of truth bombs this morning - criticized Deion and Sheduer for how they hanlded the draft process and pretty much confirmed the reports about his terrible interviews.

Spoiler

Sheduer has also been re-tweeting posts slamming teams for not picking him, so he's not exactly helping himself right now.

Do you even follow college football?

I know the accolades, dipshit.  Want to know how he is as a player.  I did not watch Texas play a single game last year, nor do I follow the SEC.

First, he's very mature, and studies film like a high level pro.  Beyond that, he's driven and has a very high motor.  The Broncos' secondary is about to be elite.

Incredibly versatile across the DB positions, always knows where the ball is, hits like a truck, and maybe the most popular player on the team - dream character guy.

Might not be the absolute most athletic DB, and definitely made us pay him his money every off-season, but he's everything you want in a first rounder.

He's not Ed Reed, but he's got that kind of knack for baiting QBs and knowing when to leave his assignment to drift off to help in coverage.

Sounds like exactly what the Broncos' secondary needs.  He'll likely be the Nickel corner with Moss and Surtain on the outside.  Should be a really good defensive backfield.

I have to ask. Why didn't you watch a single game last year?

A DB getting 12 TFLs in a season is just stupid.  They stopped throwing bubble screens on his side of the field.  He would get through blockers and blow them up.  Barron is one of the very best DBs to have played at Texas and we've had a bunch.

this should be a wild and fun night.

Teams should stick to their Jimmy Johnson value board. Best available talent and position of need. But they won’t. That’s why the same 8 to 12 teams kill the draft every year and 12 or more teams fuck it up.

Dude was the best player on the field.  He can play anywhere in the secondary.  He closes on the ball extremely well and is smart enough to bait throws/know where the QB wants to go with the ball.  He's also a dawg that can bring the thunder which means you can play him up in the box if needed.

I wouldn't want to see him as a dedicated lock-down corner.  Not because he couldn't do it, but because that would be limiting all the other amazing things he can do on the field.

Passing against that Broncos defense is going to be damn near impossible going forward.  The No-Fly Defense is back so sell all your Patrick Mahomes/Chiefs stock.

I didn't want to jinx the possibility of the Steelers getting this kid by talking him up when so many thought the Steelers were going to take Sanders, because Harmon was one of the few that I really liked and seemed possible. Seems like a nice, respectful young man.

That's a kick in the gut though but, I'm glad he was able to tell her. I still remember the final thing I said to my mother before she passed. I always will.

tl;dw - Patrick says that NFL scouts told him that people who did mock drafts put Shadeur in the first because they wanted to stay on Deion's "good side" (didn't want the smoke).

I don't hate this or anything, but it will never stop being weird to see Tennessee pimping out the Oiler's history. I know that the Titans (i.e., the Adams family) "owns" the rights to the Oiler's legacy etc., but it still just feels wrong.

It seems really weird because Cam Ward probably wasn't alive when the Oilers was even a football team

This is kinda fucking crazy ...

Ohio State’s 2021 wide receiver room was one of the most loaded position groups in college football history, especially during spring practice.

Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jameson Williams, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka made up Ohio State’s two-deep at wide receiver that spring. Four years later, all six of them are now in the NFL as first-round draft picks.

Wilson (No. 10 overall, New York Jets), Olave (No. 11, New Orleans Saints) and Williams (No. 12, Detroit Lions) were all selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. Smith-Njigba (No. 20, Seattle Seahawks) was a first-round pick in 2023. Harrison became the highest-drafted wide receiver in Ohio State history (No. 4, Arizona Cardinals) in 2024. Egbuka became the sixth first-round pick from that group when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected him with the No. 19 overall pick in Thursday night’s first round of the 2025 NFL draft.

Brian Hartline truly is a god damn wizard at WR recruiting. I hope he fails as an OC.

Because he's a charlatan and a moron, which is perfect for ESPN. I'll never forget how much of a retard and huckster he is when he said he would quit if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a star in the NFL.

The Colts had the #2 pick (Marshall Faulk) and the #5 pick (via trading Jeff George to the Falcons). The Colts GM took Trev Alberts (yes, Nebraska and future aggy dumbass) at #5 instead of Dilfer, and Kiper ripped him for passing on Dilfer for the corn dumbass. Dilfer wasn't an all-pro, but Trev sucked so Kiper was correct.

1994.  Shuler went #3 and Dilfer #6. A terrible QB class that year.

he can play all five positions, has a super high iq, and is a genuine play maker, whether it’s pbu’s, sacks, or picks. in all honesty if he was 2-3 years younger he’d have been a top 10 pick. for me he’s a slam dunk addition to what’s already a really good, young secondary. if he has the career that i think he’ll have then denver could have the best secondary in the league before long. barton’s ability to play everywhere should unlock a new geat for denver’s secondary.
