I was surprised to see Bond's name on Kiper's best available list for most of the second half of the draft. I guess he doesn't factor in unwanted butt sex when evaluating prospects?

NFL teams have overlooked worse misconduct. Didn't want to burn a pick on a guy who might do time, but if he beats the charges I think he'll find his way onto a roster.

Not quite the 16 or over 12.5 that @Wulaw Horn predicted, but still another great showing for Texas. The Ewers fall is fucking ridiculous. Multiple shittier QBs went ahead of him and I feel bad for the guy. Happy for everyone else drafted. In the end, CWilliams will sign for more (annually) than he would have gotten for coming back, but it still might have made more sense for him if he wasn’t so worried about his knees.

It should be interesting for the draft in 2026. Assuming Manning comes back, what are we looking at?

-Campbell

-Hill

-Taaffe

-Moore

-Guilbeau

-McDonald

-Burke

-Spence

-Shaw

-Brevard

-Wisner

-Hutson

-Robertson

-Goosby

-Moore Jr.

-Baxter

Not saying all of those guys leave, or that they’re all NFL draft material. Just accounting for guys off the top of my head who could be a candidate with a good year. Seems like 6-8 will happen pretty easily and it could go double digits again with big years.

Is Spence the only “portal/transfer” on your list? Speaks well for previous recruiting and only filling portal spots as needed.

Of course Taaffe is the rare “walk-on” to All-American on the roster. I’m so excited about next year!

Thank you. With them having already been here through the Spring, with the EEs, it has become a blurr to me as to how they came in. I remembered Spence from Arky stood out.

Hill Burke and Goosby look like the guys with the best chance to go rd1. Hill is limited by positional value and Im giving the other two quite a bit of projection.

CTJ left off Muhammed who has a pretty high ceiling. Also the grad transfer WR might follow in Mitchell and Golden's footsteps

Ward is Sanders without the huge platform. He comes across as a massively entitled and overconfident asshole in interviews and plays so lazily and non-chalant it’s going to catch up to him. Did jack-shit against good defenses last year. Really dumb pick by the titans

ILB usually gets a discount. The exception to that rule is guys that can rush the passer. Hill has that ability, so I think 1st round is possible.

Goosby definitely, but needs to make a step or 2 in run blocking

Burke going in round 1 would be a major surprise. I hope it happens

Kiper probably thinks Lawrence Phillips should have gone higher.

Absolutely correct on Ewers. He obviously didn't deserve to be a consensus #1 prospect mainly because of processing speed which is what recruiting services are the worst at identifying. But he is and was much better than some of the guys who went before him.

I agree, and it probably means teams question his ability to physically make it through a NFL game.  Small frame, injury prone, shoddy footwork, and bad pocket presence is a rough combination.

I remember Kiper’s infatuation with Joey Harrington and haven’t paid attention to him since.

Thankfully espn isn’t the only option for draft coverage.

I don’t think Ewers is an NFL QB, but I’m also pretty sure that some of the guys taken ahead of him aren’t either.

Got moved behind the ESPN+ paywall but of course Kiper gave Cleveland an A+ draft grade….

The Browns’ QB Room is the Island of Misfit Toys. Flacco, Kenny Pickens, Shedeur, Dillon Gabriel, and Watson.

ESPN is convinced Watson won’t play in 2025, so I assume he’ll be a full participant in fall camp.

Are they going to carry 4 QBS into the season? I can’t remember that ever happening on a 53 man roster.

The math says that, on average, the NFL rotates through roughly 18 QBs every year.  Not all of the new guys are going to be draftees, but regardless, a whole bunch of them aren't ever gonna see much playing time.

I was under the impression that Watson was being cut and they made a claim on insurance on the guaranteed part of his contract. They said the Watson era is over in Cleveland etc etc as an ownership group.

Has Ewers ever explained why he played through a hernia at Southlake? I feel like that set back his physical development a few years.

Ewers sat for 6 games his Jr (and last) year at SLC. That was Covid year so games started later less non district. Don’t know if he already had the sports hernia but he got knocked out of Keller game at end of October and didn’t come back until second round of the playoffs on 12/24 against Arlington Martin.

His sophomore year in HS back in 2019 is last time he has played a full football season.

Any list of recent Horns as UDFA and where yet? It might be Mon-Tues I guess?

I know one or two players have been mentioned, but I’d like a list of the whole group.

For whatever reason, I was thinking Muhammad would be in his 2nd year. Of course he’s going pro after his 3rd year. The money really matters to him.

He also said if Jimmy Clausen did not pan out he would quit his job. Watching him rant about GM’s not knowing what they are doing was hilarious.

I don't think a single QB taken in this past weekend's draft is going to be great in the league.  Maybe Cam Ward.  Maybe.  The rest of them?  Basically zero chance.  Browns need a QB and they took a couple of lottery tickets to find a backup QB while basically punting on the issue until 2026.  The Steelers need a QB, read the room, and decided they'd rather take the 40 year old diva hippie than pick any of these guys.  The Giants were the only team to spend real capital on a QB and Drian Daboll is kind of a fucking moron, so that tracks.  Even so, they grabbed Dart near the back half of the 1st.

A lot of guys that went before Quinn who you've never heard of are guys with good to great athleticism and could be used other places or in situational downs, etc.  Also, injury free.  Quinn has massive QBing problems plus he's made of glass.  Should have transferred to an easier conference and tried to get a full year of injury free ball.  Many GMs would have glossed over his injury history if he'd been able to string together an entire season with no missed playing time.  Clean up a few of his really bad habits and he could have been a 2nd/3rd round pick next year.  Not like next year's QB class is going to be much better than this one anyway.
