It's not bigoted.  Just a guess.  Maybe they aren't trans who knows.  Do you think they aren't trans?  One of the biggest surprises of this protest season has been the wide spread almost ubiquitous trans support for Palestine.  It's not exactly a reach.

So, yes. You’re just making shit up.

Oh look @immamac, Prong Horn has started his shift in the gulag again to crank out as much Russian propaganda as possible.  For real man, wtf are we doing?

I'm going to keep it to a minimum per day while sticking to the parameters of the thread title.

What's this "we" you mention?  You are not Surly Biff.  What happens on Surly is not a reflection of you you are as a person.

this whole thread and everyone that posts in it are kinda fucking sad tbh.

I'm not saying the situation in Israel/Palestine isn't something we should talk about or care about, I'm saying a bunch of fucking shithead internet warriors nerdraging about what videos on the internet of other morons are doing is just a stupid fucking thread  at this point.

I love prong horn's posts, you couldn't create a more perfect case study in social media brain rot in a lab. His contribution to neuroscience has to be priceless.

It’s either this or he is purposely sowing disinformation among a large population (lurkers included) of politically inclined viewers, purposely to sow dissent and doubt. Hmm, what could go wrong?

By all means, lock it up.

This thread was originally intended to provide a place for discussion of non-UT college protests because certain posters kept fucking that thread up by including shit not happening in Austin. Then, as the campus protests began to wind down around the country, off-campus shit started getting posted as posters felt the need to keep spamming the board with outrage porn from questionable sources. But now America stuff isn't enough anymore, and so shit about protests from across the pond are being included

Lotta misinfo is still getting posted. Take, for example, the ISIS/al-Qaeda flag tweet just now. That's not what those flags are, as the tweeter (a defender of Jan 6 rioters) probably knows. Or I can cite the tweet that wasn't even about protests, but rather it was a provocateur bitching about an arcane reference to the Talmud in an academic paper. Hell, pronghorn doesn't care if he's shitposting since he's admitted the purpose of his posts is to promote propaganda which, in my view, is trolling.

So, yeah, I've pushed back to provide a little more balance about which protesters to ridicule. Sue me.

If you feel this thread has outlived its usefulness,

The latter requires too many assumptions to be realistic in my opinion. I generally adhere to Occam's Razor with stuff like this. It's far more likely he's just an absolute moron with little to no media literacy like that dumbass uncle that posts similar shit all day on Facebook.

Good job on the flag spotting.  It still begs the question has IS or al qaeda ever been known to fly the Shahada flag?  The answer is yes.

Hagee is embarrassing.  He doesn’t understand the biblical hermeneutic on what modern day Israel is (it’s actually the Christian church).  Hagee is no more than a handler for Masaad.  Fat, sloppy guy.

Speaking for myself, I value the unedited video on its own and not the commentary by the poster of the tweet. I acknowledge that my Twitter algorithm is from sources that I value with similar world views. That doesn’t mean the video itself is disinformation or not true. Do you have issues with clips from tweets posted on the Ukraine thread?

So the argument has shifted from Prong sowing disinformation or his tweet sowing disinformation to some video clips in the past decade have sowed disinformation. Got it.

FLAG

Some people who fly the Texas flag are separatists; therefore, all people who fly the Texas flag should treated with suspicion as potentially dangerous separatists.

Some people who fly the American flag are Christian nationalists; therefore, all people who fly the American flag should be treated with suspicion as potentially dangerous Christian nationalists.

Some people who attacked the capitol in DC flew the Christian flag; therefore, all people who fly the Christian flag should be treated with suspicion as potentially dangerous insurrectionists.

Purposefully discrediting a group by misrepresenting their affiliation with another is misinformation.

TALMUD

The Jerusalem Talmud is also known as the Palestinian Talmud. It was not written in Jerusalem but instead in Galilee, which was part of the Byzantine province Palaestina Secunda. No Jews were allowed to live in Jerusalem at the time, so Jerusalem Talmud would be a bit of a misnomer from a geographical perspective. The geographical descriptor is made to distinguish it from the Babylonian Talmud.

You and the tweet's author are implying the usage of the term Palestinian Talmud is politically extremist and somehow tied to the current situation when it is not. That's misinformation.

I watched that whole video. What was his point other than directing anyone he influenced to vote for Trump?  It was meandering nonsense. It would’ve been a sickening video if it weren’t so pathetic.

Yeah, this.  It's weird that after centuries of tension and 75 years of force posturing and 15 years of internet ballyhoo and 15 weeks of this latest round of protests that people are thinking, "Hey, it seems like tempers are flaring on some keyboards."

Let me try to sum it up (briefly for once, Lobo).  I am pro-Israel.  Probably always will be due to my partial Jewish heritage.  Any war crimes against Palestinians by IDF should be met with harsh and swift punishment.  Hamas is still instigating and co-opting innocent people for their own gains.  Gaza included, I have watched a dozen peace solutions get offered up by people far more in the know than all of us put together, only to see them shit on.  Students should able to peacefully protest on any campus in accordance with that campus' rules and regulations.  Believe it or not young people, the internet doesn't set your college's administrative policies regarding political assembly.  But I want you to be safe to do it, within the boundaries set by your campus.  No police brutality or intimidation.  Again, still more on the side of Israel here.  But also do yourselves a favor and read a fucking book or atlas and know the fuck you're even talking about whilst ditching class.  Last thing---I'll make you a compromise.  I'll advocate harder for you to speak your peace on campuses around Texas if you stop with these moronic demands from college administrators that have nothing to do with defense contractor investments.  You're like the fucking 8th grader running for student body president, "And I will demand free vending machines and no more math class!"  That's not a fucking thing.  But in many cases, you are being denied some of your free rights to speak out.  And when they are restored, make them informed and make them count.

Hagee is the worst.  He’s an absolute schill for Israel and actually doesn’t know squat about the Bible.  I guess enough dumb normies fill up his church and get their ears tickled.

The pernicious influence of the Scofield Bible in the Evangelical denominations influencing support for the State of Israel counts as the biggest, most successful heresy in the modern Church. Like Hagee, Scofield was a conman under the thumb of Zionists.

It’s only a useful disinformation tool with context. If there’s a caption that states people were carrying ISIS flags, it’s the text written by the disseminator that is the disinformation.

When Prong was posting videos that didn’t contain disinfo, but getting roughed up for the messengers, that was bullshit. The videos he was posting, by and large, were not disinfo instruments.

Don't regents help guide investment decisions?

I agree it's creepy as hell to do it in the middle of the night, but the person left the note on the front door and apparently didn't disturb anything or wake anyone. People leave flyers on my front door all the time.

Imagine a masked person showing up at your door step at 4:40 AM. My first thought would be "oh shit, something is about to go down."

But instead of committing a home invasion the masked intruder stands in front of you and says, "sir, I have a list of demands. We ask that you defund the police, free 9 members of Asian Dawn from their captors in Sri Lanka, and bring back Saturday morning cartoons."

Again, I understand being creeped out by it. In a way, what makes it seem worse is that the masked petitioner was caught on his Ring camera. That just makes it look bad and more nefarious.

But, like I said, people have left shit about Chinese restaurants, offers to buy my house, lawn care services, and all kinds of shit at my front door. And, yes, sometimes I'll find that kind of stuff when I leave for work in the morning, so they leave the solicitations in the evenings or overnight.

All of that said, it's a stupid and futile gesture, just like all the solicitors who leave their propaganda behind because I make a point of NOT doing business with people who leave shit on my front door.
