The SEC SEC SEC Confederate conference is building a 21st century theocracy. Theres no denying it.

And our university and state said “hell yeah” let’s join in...

Fuck Abbott, Eltife, Hartzell, BOR, BMD, ESPN and anyone else who engineered that move.

Guarantee that the LA police will see you at 40 feet and as they walk towards you, you're now in violation of the law. It's the citizens responsibility to remain greater than 25 feet away irrespective of the police's behavior.  This all may vary depending on the citizen's race.

If you move back rapidly, they will arrest you on suspicion of doing something.  Because you ran.

I’m sure all the cops have been trained and are experts in what 25 feet away is, and they’ll never use this law to arrest those that are obviously further away when it suits them.

Probably just out of audio range for a lot of phones, unless the cop is yelling.

Running while black is a third-degree felony. Second-degree if with a hoodie.

Maybe that’s the distance the taser will work. If they’re unsure of the distance, fire off the taser and the results inform them of the distance.

I was hoping I could start a new thread, but it belongs here and I don't want to offend anyone's beliefs of message board etiquette.

My thread title was going to be "Christian Coonasses Compel Commandments be Communicated in Classrooms"

Hopefully someone keeps a running tab on the legal expenses required to settle this bullshit and sends an invoice in equal amounts to all the fuckwits that signed off on it.

Wait, aren't they on the Napoleonic Civl Code, meaning French?  So shouldn't they be using meters and not feet?  7.62 to be precise.

I got stuck this afternoon at a stoplight behind a kingpin 53' truck labeled "Fish."  And its transit ID on the cab and trailer were labeled  as "Quebec."  And shortly thereafter, I got a call from one of our truck drivers who had taken a mother and daughter to New Mexico for an emergency D&C because the young lady's health was in serious risk after 10 weeks of pregnancy.

I don't know anymore.  This is absolute, batshit madness.  You tell yourself to look for signs from the universe one day, the next day it's about swatting away all the signs so you can focus on what's real and immediate.  But then you get just get reminded, "Oh yeah, I'm a human being of a Higher Power.  And am surrounded by 7 billion other abject fucking lunatics."

I flew out of there one day.  on the way to the airport, we stopped at some local, very popular place for a Po Boy.  It was basically a big barn, with missing ceiling tiles, etc.

In the middle of this joint was this plywood "room".   Built from fucking unpainted plywood.   It was a "casino" inside of the restaurant.

What a shithole.  Food was pretty good.

Louisiana requires that the Ten Commandments be displayed in all public school classrooms. I didn’t drill down to see which biblical version they’re using. But we know it won’t include a prohibition against the abuse of children because there ain’t no commandment against that in either version.

Hey kids!  The first rule you're gonna see in your classroom is "thou shalt have no other gods before me!"  And that there's the god of the Christian bible there, so sorry all of you non-Christians, you just don't belong here, sinners!

In other words, pretty much the textbook definition of the state establishing a preferred religion.

What makes it even better is that they justify it by saying "it was central to our founding history."  You know, except for the fact that the decalogue fucking WASN'T.  Fascinating how they omit any discussion of the deism - the dominant religious belief of the founders.  Because deism wouldn't align with their christofascist bullshit.  The whole fucking pretext is not just a pretext, it's a lie of a pretext.  Which is how this movement rolls -- "lying" is its most blessed sacrament.

So.... here's a fucked up Louisiana story.....

Many years ago, I was road-tripping to Florida with a group of friends and lots of beer, merrily heading south on I-49.  We arrive in the Alexandria, LA area at mid-afternoon.  The interstate wasn't finished around Alexandria, so on our drive through town on the old road, we took the opportunity to pop into a convenience store for a bathroom break and to replenish the beer.

Some mud-caked locals, wearing work boots and jorts (no shirts) come in, and proceeded to yell at the clerk to come show them which beer was on sale, because they couldn't read the signs.....

Sooooo, we're leaving and the same locals, with beer in hand, hop into the bed of a nasty, old, rusty pickup truck, but not before one of them just unzips his jorts halfway between the door of the store and the pickup, and just starts urinating.

My group all simultaneously made eye contact with each other, and silently mouthed, "WHAT THE FUCK"

Louisiana exists solely for Arkansas and Mississippi to not be ranked dead last in every ranking of shitty state metrics.

The first commandment always confused me a bit, even as a kid. It reads like a tacit admission that there are other gods, which checks out given that the Old Testament god was always petty, jealous, and angry. It kind of reminds me of a certain orange someone, which might explain why Evangelicals who favor the fire and brimstone god of the OT so much, worship Trump.
