Horrible look for the city of Louisville. Fucking clown show cops arresting the #1 player in golf and handcuffing him with his hands behind his back like a criminal. Scheffler should have just gotten a ticket. I’m sure Valhalla and the PGA are super pissed at Louisville’s “finest”. Louisville will never host another PGA after this debacle.

PGA radio said earlier the Mayor was in contact with head PGA officials.

yeah, I bet so.

The cop was out of line. Probably pissed the 12yo he’s molesting didn’t put up a fight last night. Just saw Louisville crime is 200% the national average. No reason to ever return to that shit hole.

move the tournament tonight. Play rounds 3 and 4 anywhere else.

his agent snd team dropped the ball too, why is he driving or why doesn’t he have a police escort ?  Off duty cop charges double time to be your personal driver for the week

They all drive- usually in cars provided by the brand that is a sponsor of the event.

Yep.  Louisville won't host a major again for a very long time...at least past this generation of golfers and probably the next.  And good luck getting any of the Top 50 players to come to any other tournament that gets scheduled there for the next 20 years or so.

I'm normally very pro-LEO's.  I think they have a hard job to do and most do a good job.  But this was 100% an over-the-top Roscoe P. Coltrain type.  I am willing to bet y'alls money his file is littered with incidents of him going too far in situations.

Yes. If ANY of the charges go forward it’ll be nothing short of outrageous

Oh, I have no doubt these charges will be dropped.

I just hope there is a reprimand for the cop who handled this about as badly as possible.

To be the fair, given the venn diagram of golf fans and blue lives matter guys, the cognitive dissonance with this one will be strong.

The problem is that the ones who do a good job stand ready and willing to cover up for the ones who don't. The littered file you're talking about is because nobody ever calls a code red on the assholes in the department. In fact, they're celebrated.

Lulz. There will be no reprimands. They’re probably high fiving each other right now. They had plenty of time to do the right thing this morning and went out of their way to embarrass him as much as they could.

You're hoping that these cops hold themselves accountable for an overreaction? No fucking way will that happen.

I’ll say it again. Louisville pd can not be trusted ….

Louisville PD murdered Brionna Taylor. Tried to cover up the crime. Then they were found ‘not guilty’ and promoted.

It’s a shame that Tiger didn’t have a tee time this morning just to see how espn handled this news with Tiger on the course.

”just a tragic event followed by a surreal set of circumstances as we go split screen with Scottie arriving and Tiger from the trees on #8.”

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that a group of very wealthy individuals is up his asshole right now about the fact that their event is bringing money and eye balls to their city, only for Barney Fife and that rinky dink PD to give an already tragic situation an even bigger black eye.

For those here old enough to remember this show.

I have watched a lot of that show. Ironically.

It's fucking hysterical.

Statement from Scottie Scheffler to me: “This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers.  It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do.  I never intended to disregard any of the instructions.  I’m hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today.   “Of course, all of us involved in the tournament express our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who passed away in the earlier accident this morning.  It truly puts everything in perspective.”

The Louisville Police Chief, DA, Mayor of Louisville and Governor of Kentucky all need to apologize to Scheffler immediately. The DA should be recalled for charging Scheffler with 3 counts with a felony.

Statement from Scottie Scheffler’s Louisville attorney, Steve Romines: “ In the early hours of the morning in advance of his tee time Scottie was going to the course to begin his pre round preparation. Due to the combination of event traffic and a traffic fatality in the area it was a very chaotic situation He was proceeding as directed by another traffic officer and driving a marked player’s vehicle with credentials visible. In the confusion,Scottie is alleged to have disregarded a different officer’s traffic signals resulting in these charges. Multiple eyewitnesses have confirmed that he did not do anything wrong but was simply proceeding as directed. He stopped immediately upon being directed to and never at any point assaulted any officer with his vehicle. We will litigate this matter as needed and he will be completely exonerated. “

I suspect the DA wasn't even out of bed yet.  Officer charged Scheffler.  DA will eventually make the decision to pursue or drop charges.
