They need to tighten up with as poor as the defense is right now. That they play as wide open as they do, fun - but puts them at risk. Howard said it best post game: Setup to score 3 in the 2nd half, but also still so wide open they could give up more.

Here's the weird part... The eye test says our defense is poor... But we're top half in the league in goals against, level with Chelsea, Man City, and only 1 behind Arsenal

Meanwhile, we're top on goals scored and second in goal differential

I think the problem is when/who we give those goals up to. We give up chunks of goals to teams that we think should be easy, and so we don't come out with focus?

Or is it that we're more wide open against those teams thinking we'll score at will, and we're more pragmatic against better teams?

I see it as who we have played and where…

ain’t played away to any of the top teams yet.

we gettin worked by being exposed at the back. And vicario is decent but he’s not great.

bring in an 80 million dollar keeper. Another 50 million dollar CB to replace Mickey and push Romero.

a 70 million dollar ACM

40 million LW.

50 million RB- this key, that can actually play defense and then we can cook.

what’s that 300 million in investment?

that’s an easy day lol. 😂

Tottenham: Ange Postecoglou handed familiar problem after another statement Man City win
From sublime to ridiculous has been the story of Spurs’ season so far

Quote

These wild swings in form are the story of Spurs' season so far, and it is hard to remember another team with such a gaping chasm between their best and their worst – making it difficult to assess the progress of Postecoglou's project.

Saturday's result undeniably felt like a landmark for Spurs, a glimpse of their potential under Postecoglou and perhaps a statement to the league's other top clubs.

It will count for nothing, however, if Spurs do not beat Fulham at home next weekend, a point made forcefully at the Etihad by Dejan Kulusevski, who dismissed the suggestion that beating City could be 'a turning point' for Spurs.

"No, no because we have to be much more consistent," Kulusevski said. "It’s not a turning point.

The article touches on a lot of things. But the real key, IMHO is that Spurs are not yet ready to dominate teams they dictate play on. They play with teams that play open (see Man City over the weekend), they struggle with teams that bunker in.

do you have match tickets yet?

Yeah--it's my birthday, so Mrs.LL sprung for some premium tickets.  Something about the locker room--like there's a club in the locker room NFL teams use when they're playing there?  I don't exactly know, but whatever.

Spoiler

Nice! That’s pretty much it exactly:

We took the orange line to White Hart Lane, couldn’t be easier. Walked back down to Seven Sisters to get on the tube. Probably would be better to take the orange line train from the stadium next time. We got there early so we could beat the crowds and enjoy the food. Hung around later afterwards to let things thin out and enjoy more food.

You’ll be sitting on the east side so if it somehow happens to be sunny, bring sunglasses.
