Arsenal FC 2024-25: Back Where We Belong

Obviously Cap makes such an impact in how we play but underrated is how much we miss Benny Blanco at RB. The understanding between he and Saka is really something special.

my hope is that we have enough defensive players and that now we will aggressively pursue more attacking options, because we desperately need them. i didn’t have a problem last season because we were scoring goals for fun, but now that our injury luck has been reversed our lack of depth is really hurting us. we shouldn’t have sold ESR, especially if we weren’t going to use that money to bring in something more substantive than one year of raheem sterling.

either a top flight striker or LW will do the trick. in fact i think i prefer LW because it will be easier to keep Kai at ST and replace martinelli with someone world class in the wing. one game changer in attack and some midfield reinforcement has got to be on the menu for the next two windows.

Maybe we can get someone that can bring in some attackers now.

for me this is the test to see if we are legitimately back in the top tier of european clubs. top tier programs lose guys like this and replace them with someone equal or better. if the loss of edu cripples us then we were never for real. if our recruitment and signings continue to be largely awesome, and if we sign the attacking players we need to, then the era of Arteta is going to be dynastic.

Wow. The Greek owner of Forest must be paying him a ton. Wonder how Arteta feels, after signing his extension.

We missed on Fabio Vieira, who was supposed to be Ode’s backup. Selling ESR and Eddie (who wasn’t in Arteta’s plans) was necessary but also left holes in the attack. Those areas need attention in Jan/Summer windows.

100%. Josh seems a lot more involved since the Kroenkes assumed full control of the club. He brought in Edu; hopefully he’ll find someone equal or better.

Odergard, Rice, Kai and Merino are all questionable for the match at Chelsea on Sunday.   Rice sounds the least likely to play (broken toe).    Even if all four were unable to go, Arteta probably still wouldn't start Nwaneri...
