Timber was carrying one before the international break (iirc had to be subbed at HT of the last PL match).

Benny Blanco back is very nice.

Still…. Let’s. Fucking. Go.

Feels like we’d need a rash of injuries for pool and a points deduction for City to have a chance to win the league now.

this is the problem with soccer. with no playoffs, you cannot afford to get injured, or suspended, or play poorly, ever. in football you cannot afford lose in september and october and win the super bowl; in the nba you can lose in february and march and win the title; a couple of years ago the braves were under .500 at the ASB and they won it all. you can’t do that in soccer, especially when City exists. the entire season IS the playoffs, and you can’t afford to lose, because one team has so much money and so many world class players that they can survive all of the injuries and suspensions which a risky affect other teams. i mean KDB and Haaland missed a bunch of time last year and it didn’t matter.

at this point, i’ve given up on the epl season. i’m just hopping that we win a trophy in some other competition. so fucking depressing.

You can’t afford to piss away points in a league with City, and we absolutely pissed away three today.

Sigh.

A win is a win, but that was underwhelming. It’s good to win games when we don’t play well, but it would be nice to hit the easy button every once in a while.

Yup. There’s winning ugly, then there’s whatever the hell we just did.

We’re nowhere near as dangerous/creative in the opposition half without Ødegaard and Starman. Desperately need Saka back for Pool.

I think we can still be great missing one of those two guys, but when we’re missing, both were so much less dynamic. I suspect Saka was held out today for a strategic calculation so he can play against pool this weekend.
