Disagree.  See the new rule.  "Obstruction occurs when a defensive player, neither in possession of the ball nor in the act of fielding a batted ball, impedes a batter’s attempt to make contact with a pitch or impedes the progress of any runner who is legally running bases on a live ball. It can be intentional or unintentional. While not in possession of the ball, it is obstruction if the defensive player: a. blocks any part of the leading edge of first, second or third base or home plate (as defined); or b. otherwise blocks the runner from advancing or returning to a base. The defensive player is not considered obstructing if they are in possession of the ball or they are making a legitimate reaction to the trajectory of the ball after it is thrown. (See also Rule 12.13.)"

Obstruction

Panel members approved a rule change regarding obstruction in baserunning scenarios.

The change is intended to simplify the rule covering when a defensive player impedes the progress of any runner who is legally running bases on a live ball.

Under the revised rule, it is obstruction if the defensive player, while not in possession of the ball, does the following:

Blocks any part of the leading edge of first, second or third base or home plate.

Otherwise blocks the runner from advancing or returning to a base.

However, defensive players will not be called for obstruction if they are in possession of the ball or if they are making a legitimate reaction to the trajectory of the ball after it is thrown. Additionally, if in the umpire's judgment the runner would have clearly been out, then obstruction is ignored.

So yay us?  Is it just a one game issue or are they fucked for good?

Rothrock is at 230 pitches in the last 2 days and they may have to pitch her game 1 against Texas. That tells you about what they have behind her.

What does OU have behind Maxwell? I assume she would go tomorrow but not Thursday, correct?

They have Nicole May, who is not nearly as good as Maxwell.  Plus, she's not a lefty, which usually gives us fits due to our lefty-heavy lineup.
