@lemonlime - From what I've read, and it's not a lot, he was asymptomatic and had passed an earlier test.  He did not have any reason to believe that he was infected.  Twitter posts referenced here insinuate that he should have been suspecting or expecting a positive result.  I get it.  Folks don't like his politics and want to shit on him.

I probably wouldn't want to shit on him except he voted not introduce any evidence or witnesses into the impeachment trial.

I'm sitting at home on fucking lockdown.  Meanwhile he's going to the gym. Not biking on a treadmill in his house.  Not doing out because he has to for his job as a senator.  Or, hell, he's a doctor, helping people.  And that's after he had enough reason to suspect he had covid-19 to have not one, but two, tests.  Tests that those of us who aren't wealthy senators don't have access to.  He absolutely deserves to get shit on.

There's going to be guillotines soon.

I mean it's not just his politics for why we shit on him. He's an asshole who should've known better. But hey, rules only apply to the ones under him.

fallout from the situation is the Senate as a whole might start working remotely...

I assume Trump will issue each GOP senator a 2 inch orange dildo so they don't sit around all day wondering what they should be doing.

One is contagious when asymptomatic so when one has been exposed enough to warrant a second test, then one should be away from everyone else. If one wasn’t a selfish inconsiderate asshole that is.

Is it surprising that Rand Paul's alma mater is Baylor University because he enjoys raping the American public? Personally I think Duke University should revoke his MD diploma. It's not like he's using it or even knows how to for that matter.

So you and rand’s excuse is he passed a test, had no symptoms, but for some strange reason got another one? Stop being a dipshit and thinking we are as stupid as you.

Did the entire Senate get a test of just Rand Paul?

I don't know.

Paul is the third member of Congress to test positive for Covid-19 after Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) and Ben McAdams (D-UT), and the first member of the Senate.

I don't get your point.  It seems like everyone's posts were accurate.  He only went into quarantine after he was diagnosed---after the test results were back.  Before those results, but when he had enough reason to believe he should be tested (something I would have to wait in a car in a 3 mile long line to do), he went for a swim.

If you really want a head scratcher, apparently Harvey Weinstein got tested as well. At least he’s positive so there’s some good news.

so he's had two tests before most have had one?? can this dude get any more scummy?

sure, the tests are on our dime which he doesn't support for us because socialism.  It's never serious when it happens to other people.  Maybe now he'll wake the fuck up.  Or better yet, maybe he exposed his pops to it and while sonny is fine, elder Paul will need a respirator.

His retweet of Seung Min Kim shows is a fucking dictionary definition of intentional obtuseness.  We believe you, Rand.  It's the shit you were doing between the test and the results that everyone is pissed about.

I’m not sure I buy the story about why he took the test. Either he had a reason for concern, such as a fever, or perhaps he likes the feeling of a q-tip hitting his brain.

I get the sense he’s not particularly well-liked amongst his colleagues.

There are almost zero GOP politicians that seem like they actually have any friends at all.

I'd also like to remind everyone that Kentucky elected a Democratic governor recently. I'm not saying...I'm just saying.

If he croaked does the governor have the power to appoint someone right away?  I read some blurbs about this yesterday and from what I gathered the 17th amendment allows the state legislature to empower the governor to make an appointment.  Since the Kentucky hillbilly legislature is (R), what if they don't "empower the governor"?  Can a state just go with one asshole senator and call it good?

Kentucky, like West Virginia, is very evenly split by Party ID - mid 40s each and the rest "independent". They just don't vote Democrat at the federal level as much for the same reason they don't in Texas - institutional failure and a nationalized message that isn't regionally resonant.
