There are a couple of comments under some of the tweets about this that he is a veteran with PTSD and does likely live on his boat with his dog. So I will go back and clean up my post.

If you live on a boat, having a pet seems pretty dumb.  Unless you have a pet parrot and are going for the whole pirate theme, then that would be pretty fucking cool.

Newfoundlands say "Hi!"

They'd drag your ass to shore.

Not sure anyone who made that dam almost a hundred years ago was thinking it would last this long. Holy smokes, we are going to need some major infrastructure revamp.

Does anyone know if some millionaires have a fishing lodge near it?

I googled around and didn’t see any easy summation of Helene’s damage in Florida?

Coverage has been terrible.  Finding a simple map showing the actual path up to a given point in time was almost impossible.  My buddy lives in Athens, his parents live in Clemson, and he has two sisters in the area -- hysterical videos abound, but basic information?  Good luck.

Dan is busy doing the retrospective on Oingo Boingo.

Rather voiceover:  you’ve probably heard Danny Elfman’s music. Maybe this  (Batman suite plays) or this )Simpsons theme plays). But did you know that before all of that…(weird science begins to play)

Agree, but I think this one hit and spread out quicker than anticipated. Client had the track go over her and very little rain. Feeder bands 30 miles east were causing flooding. Solution- Print a map, get a sharpie and the storm track can be whatever you want it to be.

Should be another La. to Fla. issue.

I think

Maybe, but you just don't want floods to move your trophies.

I call S Texas as a TS. Yeah, I am an optimist.

So my wife’s cousin has a 2nd home in Kashmir? NC.  They aren’t there, but can’t get a flight there yet to evaluate and no phone connections to anyone there that may be able to update them on the state of their house.  They’ve had a previous 2nd home burn down in the bastrop wildfire, along with the lake house I mentioned upthread at Toledo bend that took some damage from Rita.

Just heart sick seeing all the devastation. Asheville 😢 Elizabethton is likely a graveyard (literally) many prayers for the searchers and rescue operations underway. 100 years ago Asheville was rebuilt by artists. I hope it can be again.

It will be rebuilt by greedy corporations and developers who will pounce on it.

Sounds like some people that I wouldn't want as neighbors.

Own some sort of oil brokerage.  Don’t know the reality they live in as it pertains to climate change.

Just let us know where all they have properties so we can avoid those areas.

Massive flood damage from around the Siesta Key area through the Big Bend. This one is going to be expensive. Siesta Key to Anna Maria washed over like Sanibel did 2 years ago, St Pete/Clearwater have significant water damage, Steinhachee has been wiped out completely again, but much worse than the last time. Reports are that water damage into Steinhatchee was into second floors. Wind wasn’t the issue, storm surge was significant along the entire west coast.

We were looking at properties on AMI and St George in a couple of weeks along with the Dunedin area. After selling on Sanibel right before Ian and having the house we had under contract go under water during Ian and now this, think I may give up on buying again.

Checking in from Georgia: this is the first cell service I’ve had since late Thursday night.  I’m glad the horns won, but from the threads on the football board, we’re either ok or terrible?

We braved the down trees and power lines and 1-lane roads Friday evening to find a better place to stay. We’ve been through many hurricanes and this is the first one that was genuinely scary as it passed over us. It moved inland so fast that it didn’t lose much power.

My town is in bad shape and we’re pretty far inland. No power and water with varying timelines as to when it’ll come back. I’ve heard reports that there might be undrinkable water as of late last night. Some towns are looking at 30+ days possibly.

Hopefully you’re not in Rockdale County
