Texas Baseball 2025 - The Schwining tradition starts here...

My prediction for Friday:

1B Schuessler

3B Rodriguez

SS Flores

RF Belyeu

CF Gasparino

LF Winfield

C Galvan

DH Chamberlain (Borba if facing a LHP)

2B Mendoza

SP Spencer

That has us alternating right-left all the way through the order, which I think Schloss would like. Rodriguez batted second in the Alumni game so I'll assume they are comfortable with him up there in the order.

Just wanted to drop in to say fuck globe life and or who ever is in charge of ticketing with the absolute bullshit tack on fees

The fees are Bullshit.

GlobeLife has one advantage over its lookalike predecessor in Houston, MinuteMaid Park, that you and everyone else will appreciate this weekend:

GlobeLife has a heating system, as well as air-conditioning.

Pinch-pennies-Drayton-McLane (former Astros owner) didn't build a heater into MinuteMaid, just the air-conditioning.

I've frozen my balls off sitting in those stands watching Texas play in that tournament hosted there in MinuteMaid before.

So at least the fan experience will be climate-controlled-pleasant this weekend.

I’ve also frozen my ass off at the Disch many times. Grow a pair.

Are there no more General Admissions tickets available for Friday night at the mlb.tickets.com website? I'm getting "This event is not on sale." :/ However, Saturday, Sunday, and the tournament pass are still available.

Can you avoid the fees buying walk up tickets?

Quick heads up to buy tix on Seatgeek or StubHub. Rangers site wants $45/ea including fees, I just got two StubHub for $26 ea.

fuck em.

I was just listening to Schloss' interview yesterday on the LHN app, and he basically said they wouldn't be playing in this tournament if it wasn't already on the schedule when he arrived. Said he prefers to open the season at home.

Also said he inherited a 2026 series at U of San Diego (return trip from when they came here last year) and the tournament at Minute Maid the third weekend of the season.

Would blow to lose this event, but the matchups aren’t exactly great anymore without playing multiple top SEC teams

Single game tix finally went on sale. Nothing available for any conference series and nothing but General Admission for other games.

Can we please, please renovate and expand The Disch? Frankly, tear the damn thing down and start over.

Second hand is extremely reasonable for all but 2 weekends. They just don’t list single game tickets there so away fans can’t have them at face value

Theres no need for expansion until we can pack out more than 1-2 series a year. GA season tix are like $100 and it feels like the majority of them are always up for resale

The online processing fee is replaced with an in person paper printing fee. You’re welcome.

Our BB field must be bigger and better than aggy.

I would bet there are season ticket holders who haven't been to a game in years. It's funny they list the first Tuesday game of the year against Houston as a sellout and my guess is come first pitch, the stadium will maybe be 60-70% full pending weather.

I wish there was a way to track this and replace those who do not attend games.

There almost certainly is. If you go to your tickets in your e-wallet and click “info”, your UT athletics ID is attached to them. I assume they can track who is re-selling, attending, not attending, etc

Honestly I’m better off with more GA seats going unfilled vs resold to away fans if last season was any indication of how this year will go

True, maybe they need start implementing something to get people that actually want to be there. But I guess money is money but there is people who give potentially same amount to have the seats but can't get them because of that person.

It definitely should happen IMO.

They booted a bunch of serial resellers from football seats prior to last season. Hopefully they do it again. The only reason I filled out the post-season “how did we do?” form was to hopefully boot the guy behind me who sold his seats to away fans for Georgia, Florida, and Clemson

There is. LHF emails you if you don't use your tickets, and asks that you either list them for sale or let someone else use them.

I try to use as many of my tickets as possible, and I give them away to friends/co workers when I can't got. But the reality is, there are games I can't make that I can't even give tickets away to (midweek games, early season games when the weather isn't as good, etc.).

If I can't go or can't give them away, I do usually throw my tickets up on Seat Geek for about $10 bucks so that someone can get in the door for under $15 a ticket after fees, but I don't do it until a few days before the game most of the time. So go look online if you want single game tickets, GA tickets can be had for like $10 right now and seats like mine (under the awning) are going for ~$20 each after fees for the home opener, and even less for the next weekend series.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Adding the surlyX (our overlord) to X tweets (or whatever they are called nowadays) freezes the video as of now. Go to the shit's borked thread or can you fix this to see that it has already been asked to correct. 🤷‍♂️

Plans are in the works already as of last year.

The school wants to add another Yeti yard out in right field (not sure if the Bullpen moves, or add next to it). UT also wants to move the left filed scoreboard further back but that would interfere with the street that only goes to the parking garage. The city owns that street as of now and is balking at the thought of letting the University close it off. With the scoreboard moved further back, the plan is to put seating/bleachers out past the left field wall. Seats (bleachers) can already be added either temporarily (past LSU series) or permanently along the left field concourse above the lower L sections. I also heard last year that Gus Pavilion above R2 may be made into another upper section of seats.

Improvements ($$$$) are to be made to DKR/TMS (grass?) before work is be done at DFF though.

That space (old wall/new wall) is already there... the busses look over the top of both.

That's true, but I feel like they would politely tell the busses to fuck off if that was put in place.

Possibly. But I like to think that CDC enjoys the busses just as much as he does occupy left field. I sat out on one of them years ago (before they allowed beer in the stands) and the view from it was cool. Could see everyone, except maybe the R fielder when playing deep.

Plus, we had beer. 😝🤘
