I have been waffling back and forth on this, but I think ultimately it is like faking injuries. Doing something that is within the rules, but up to the SEC office to say hey we know what you are doing and it against the spirit of the game and there will be repercussions. Baseball typically isn't a timed game so there are no safeguards with an actual clock that keeps from teams just freely wasting time to take advantage of the timed game.

I remember Augie doing it once. It was early in his tenure before he had things rolling, and we had a small lead on LSU at the Disch and he stalled big time to run out the clock.

I’m not sure about Bing specifically but it seemed like they wanted to throw as many guys as possible. They only used 5 against UGA

I figured pitch count and save for weekend - he only threw 28 pitches - wonder if they want him for Sunday long relief if needed

Yeah, it could be a number of things. He had an early visit to the mound with the trainer and Weiner. Just odd that he only went 1.1 given his recent IP per outing. However, as y'all said, it could just have been to get a plethora of arms action.

Bing seems pretty Jekyll and Hyde.

When he keeps the ball down he’s pretty good. When he’s throwing strikes even better. I can see why they had him for Sunday starter early in the season. I think he’s the difference in the postseason. If he gets better which he should , he’d be a pretty good option in a pinch if we need it.

He was throwing 83 MPH. They were concerned with his health.

The plan was definitely not for him to throw 1.1 innings when this is the time of year when nailing down a 4th starter who can give you length is important.

Halfway through SEC play we stand at 29-5 overall and 13-2 in SEC play. Safe to say we are well ahead of any reasonable expectations coming into the season.

Looking ahead, we have 4 non-conf games and 15 conference games remaining. I think a reasonable projection would be 3-1 on the mid-weeks and 9-6 in conference. I'd characterize this as a "middle" scenario. Not the floor, but not the ceiling. This would put us at 41-7 and 22-8 going into the conf tourney.

Good for a top 8 seed?

41-12, 22-8 should be good for top 8 imo

Aggy heading to Arkansas this weekend starting on Thursday has become suddenly an interesting series.

Will tell us a lot about the status of both teams when it is completed.

Lol, that will net us a top 4 seed nationally. 22 wins is phenomenal.

Last year's SEC national seeds and their conference records:

1.  Tennessee (22-8)

2.  Kentucky (22-8)

3.  Texas A&M (19-11)

5.  Arkansas (20-10)

7.  Georgia (17-13)

22-8 is outstanding and a lock for a top 8 seed.
