Welp, that's gonna fuck up our rotation pretty bad. God Dammit

if all this is true, i think either Grubbs becomes a starter and use someone like Burns for his previous role, or you go with someone like Bing with a short leash to Grubbs. my preference would be start Grubbs.

Wtf - all these kids playing select baseball growing up seems like a recipe for this shit. Starting to piss ol jw off that Longhorn pitching staffs have this happening regularly. Spencer’s not even been here that long and here we go again with this shit. It does not get the JW seal of approval.

I’d do everything in my power to keep Grubbs where he is. Him and Volantis with the ability to go multiple innings is such a weapon out of the bullpen.

I don’t see any reason why Flores can’t be a good #3 starter with what he has shown so far. I was worried about control with him at the start of the year but he has thrown plenty of strikes.

Bing just doesn’t do it for me as a weekend guy. I think he is in the perfect role as a 4th starter who throws strikes but won’t miss a ton of bats.

Thomas Burns is another interesting piece. I like what I’ve seen from him the most out of the guys that have improved as the season has progressed.

Need your arms out of the bullpen to be on from the 1st pitch. 11 HBPs in 28 innings is concerning from Flores. I’d prefer to start him just because you can generally tell pretty quick whether he has the feel for his 2 seamer, and if he blows up it’s easier to overcome it with the whole game left to play rather than if it happens in the 7th or 8th

You are right. Somehow I forgot about Flores.

We are so late in the season I would prefer he just take a redshirt and come back next season at 100%.

Now that's some hard-hitting journalism there, that's what that is.  Yeesh.  "I don't know shit."

Didn’t say shit about TJ.

Soreness is caused by something, whether inflammation, a tear, or whatever.

You don't just leave a game with soreness as a pitcher and return in any reasonable amount of time. Whatever is causing the soreness has to be solved, whether by extended rest or surgery.

We have a month until Hoover and 5 weeks before a regional. In the absolute best scenario (no structural damage), he probably isn't picking up a baseball for at least 2-3 weeks, then has to ramp back up to be ready to pitch in a game. That still puts a return this season very much in jeopardy.

The fact that they are getting additional testing tells me it probably will not be a 'Rest for 2-3 weeks' type of injury.

Here are his posts on OB from today. Don’t see anything about TJ but he seems to thinks he’s probably done for the year

Wish Boogie could still pinch-hit.

Just call Brett auburn back and put him on the mound, the hair alone will scare the begezus out of opponents.

seriously though, this team has overcome significant injuries, I’m just hoping BDE with Max Weiner has the pitching staff ready for next man up. Fucking sucks, the rotation was filling out nicely with 3 reliable starters a dominant reliever and closer.  That’s a recipe for super and CWS finale series domination, the rest is double elimination and I don’t see this team dropping a regional when the #2 team will be national #32.  Leaves only the CWS bracket to worry about but again with that rotation avoid going to your fourth starter and you’re set.

Hopefully one of the kids takes the ball and regional Ray’s the fuck out of the third spot because if we can fill the gap this team is a clear fucking favorite for the title.

Clemson and UNC at 2 and 3 is completely fucking laughable. Texas should be able to lose a series and stay #1 at this point. But instead, they will jump us for some candy ass team like Clemson. Ridiculous.

Not if we don’t lose a series!

Sometimes pitchers just get dead arm for a bit. Nothing’s torn, but they’ve just pushed their body beyond its point of tolerance. In that kind of a case, dude’s have been out of 2-6 weeks and then can magically pitch again. Not always, but it happens.

Not saying that’s the case here, but you don’t need a battery of tests to identify a torn UCL or rotator cuff. Maybe there’s a a small blood clot issue or something. It’s odd that they’re going in for further examination if it’s already known to be something legitimately structural.

Remaining SEC Series

at Kentucky RPI #40

Auburn #12

A&M #58

at Arkansas #1

Florida #31

at OU #20

Non-Con

UTRGV #30

at Texas St #77

Prairie View A&M #298

Lamar #59

Q1 games remaining: 12

Q2: 5

Q3: 4

Q4: 1

Win 4 of 6 remaining SEC series to go 10-8 the rest of the way.  Drop 1 more non-con.  Would make the same regular season record prediction as last week of 40-13.  Even though we're missing Tenn and Vandy, looks to be a top 10 SOS.  Maybe not saying much, all of the SEC will end up in the top 20.

Afgie at 58 is awesome

New Tiger King....

LSU       2-1

Mizzou  3-0

Auburn  3-0

This made me laugh out loud. Absolute hilarity. Good job

I could have sworn Jared said during an in-game interview on fri or sat that it was shoulder soreness. Did I invent or mishear that?

False memory, maybe?

As of today, they're 37th in RPI.

aggy is certainly improving. Taking the series would be a win. I'm not sure a sweep is likely, but it certainly could happen. Without Spencer and with the improvement in play across their roster, I'd be thrilled with a series win.

No I heard it too. In the next day interview after his start at UK, he specifically mentioned that he was more sore than normal. But I also believe he threw 111 pitches that game if memory serves.

I'm pretty much with you, it will be difficult to sweep them, but we have home field advantage, (I've mentioned this before), Scloss knows all of their strengts and weaknesses. Aggy is definitely improving, but so are we. I trust n Schloss for this series in particular. I won't be surprised if sweep them or kose one to them, just as long as we win the series.

Huh. Weird. Of couse, I didn't listen to the entire interview, but I guess if you are backing him , then it did happen. I just haven't heard anyone else mention until now.

I mean it was just kind of a blowoff comment. The announcers were like "Dang man you threw 111 pitches - you feeling that today?" and he said something like "yeah a little more sore than usual"

Ok. I think I so remember him saying his shoulder was just sore. So you are right about that.
