not as generous as their executive packages, now that they've got all this free money to throw around after cutting off those loser dead weight low performers amirite?

Golden parachutes have been around for at least 50 years for the ELT's. Big whoop, executives are getting paid to leave. Part of the perk of being an executive IMO.

That's... Not what the article says? These are bonus stock payouts and incentives to the executives, on the order of 75-200% of their base pay

To the executives that are leaving, I thought I read. I might have misread, if you are saying the execs that are staying will receive a bonus, but regardless I’m still unclear on what the point is you are making.

As I understand it, this isn’t as much a cost cutting move and need for the business in working capital or free cash flow (hence why it shouldn’t matter if execs hit the KPI or MBOs in their comp plan and should get their bonuses), but more of a culling of the herd of lower performers (which they plan to rehire with bar raisers or A+ players).

Unless what I’ve read about it was a misdirection and head fake, which you never know with corporate communications….

Honestly the people that got cut from our team were indeed low performers and got cut for good reason.  One guy got hired on the same time I did and we are given x amount of time to be able to go off on our own and do stuff.  Before we are certified we can work from home or go to the office as long as we do 40 hours.  14 months later.  He still wasn't done and just taking up space.  When he was at work he was watching the news.  He would say in front of management hey, you guys know I'm part of the team.  I can start leading projects.  Management would tell him he needed to get qualified first.  He would mumble I'll get around to that.  I want to lead this project.

As far as the exec bonus.  They just made it like everyone else's.  If you outperformed you are eligible for 200 percent bonus.  For us everyday guys it goes from 65 percent for low performers-225 percent for the unicorns

Which is all extremely reasonable. It’s guys who want to decry capitalism at every. Single. Instance. No matter the facts or context, that actually do those of us trying to rein in the horrors of late stage capitalism and the complete annihilation of the middle class  big disservice.

Gotta say, it's real funny how y'all run with criticism of how a company treats it's employees and spin that into me being anti-capitalist.

Forcing employee churn just to keep the fear in em is dog shit management. Treat your employees like people, not numbers on a page.

Laying them off and publicly proclaiming they're all dog shit is spiking the football and just ghoulish.
