Connecticut starting to find their groove. They should roll through the Big East.

Yeah, we got them right as they found their groove with Karaban back.

Currently rolling with 3 straight wins over Baylor, Texas, Gonzaga

The Big East will basically be those 2 games against Shaka

Good for him, hope they keep it going.

Pretty sure during my lifetime and even in its entire history has SECB been this strong.

#s 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 SEC, SEC

I have never seen that shit in my lifetime at any point in a season.  And I’m not young.

What’s the conference games and losses start, universe normality will be restored.

meh, as soon as Texas starts winning in the MeatGrinder*(tm) the narrative will change to "SEC having a down year, too top heavy"

This non-conference season has been ESPN's wet dream.  The SEC taking those Big 12 scalps has the executives in Bristol fully erect.

my comment was kind of a joke(related to football) but it was funny how apoplectic Bilas was when the SEC went 14-2 in the SEC/ACC challenge.

ACC hoops are not in a great place right now, that's for sure.  If you're just using teams in the Top 25 to judge a league, they're behind the SEC, Big 12, Big East, and Big 10.

Good ol’ fucking Doug just can’t help himself.

Quote

One week after Doug Gottlieb referred to weaker potential opponents as "Nobody U," his Green Bay men's basketball team lost to Division-II Michigan Tech, 72-70, on Wednesday for its eighth consecutive defeat.

Green Bay took a double-digit lead into halftime and led by as many as 13 points in the second half before Michigan Tech came back to take the lead with just under eight minutes left. The two teams went back and forth until Michigan Tech's Marcus Tomashek hit a 3-pointer with 53 seconds left to give the Huskies a lead they didn't relinquish.

In a news conference last week after the Phoenix's loss to Milwaukee, Gottlieb explained his scheduling outlook and used the now-infamous "Nobody U" phrase.

"Part of the reason I want to play better teams is like, it's 2 degrees outside, it's snowing. I don't really like the idea of Nobody U coming in here," he said. "What do we learn playing a game where we win by 20? There's a methodology to it and I'm going to have to adjust moving forward.

"Every game on our schedule is a game that we can lose," Gottlieb continued. "And nobody else does that. Now you know why."

After Wednesday's loss, Gottlieb took to social media to respond to his viral news conference.

"Done with this crap," he wrote on X. "We scheduled up. Including Michigan Tech. No where ever, have I been critical of anyone on our schedule. Now, back to work."

3 of the last 5 tourneys it’s ended with his team in the S16 or E8.

4 out of the last 5 tourneys it's ended with his team underperforming their seed. Just like usual

2 seed losing in the S16, 5 seed losing in R1, 3 seed losing in the Round of 32, 4 seed losing in the S16 to a 9 seed, 2 seed losing in the Elite 8

Same old story

a story that’s unique to rick barnes…and 98% of other cbb coaches. not sure if you’ve noticed, but getting to the second weekend is hard, while winning the whole thing is a pipe dream for most.

btw, i’ll never forget walking into Allen Fieldhouse three years ago and seeing FOUR- count em, FOUR total national title banners (they would win their 5th that year). a bona fide blue blood with now five total titles since the tourney started in 1941, despite regularly being a top seed with the best players and coaches in the sport. i don’t know when or how failing to win a national title became this huge black mark on a HC’s resume, but as far as annual championships go it’s the hardest one to win in all of sports. rick barnes is on the short list of best active coaches to never win one, with the likes of mark few, bruce pearl, and kelvin sampson. Texas fans are the last ones to be in a position to trash a coach who is in that echelon and who regularly goes to the second weekend when we’ve been there once since 2008.
