Miami's Jim Larranaga stepping down.  No news on why, as of yet.  He's 75 years old, so it could be health related.  Miami was 15-17 last year and are 4-7 this year.

Larranaga replaced Frank Haith (present and former UT assistant) when Haith left for Missouri.

Quite the quickly moving story. He's been very good at Miami but, is no longer a young man.

ACC is going through it the last few years with long-time, successful coaches calling it quits

K - gone
Larranaga - stepping down
Roy - gone
Bennett - gone
Boeheim - gone

Feels like Hamilton will be next.  He's 76 and the dean of the ACC coaches.  Larranaga was the third-longest tenured ACC coach after Hamilton and Brownwell.

That’s quite serious for a conference as historic as the ACC. A lot of programs need to make serious changes.

Yep.  Saw someone lament that the basketball landscape is moving away from the ACC and into the SEC/Big 12, not just based on this current season (all but 1 team in the top 75 in NET), but with the coaching changes at the ACC powers.  The SEC has KILLED the ACC this year in non-conf play.

I'd take the current SEC coaches over the new crop of ACC coaches.

~1 min explanation from Larranaga

He's exhausted.  After the F4 run, 8 players hit the portal.  Claims they loved Miami.  Loved playing basketball there.

"The opportunity to make money someplace else created a situation where you have to begin to ask yourself - as a coach - what is this all about?"

Basically - F NIL.

I think this type of thing is more the norm than the exception. It’s sad.

Is he talking about himself leaving George Mason for Miami? Coaches complaining about this is so ridiculous.

The hypocrisy is pretty hilarious.

Wasn't that MIami team built with NIL? lol

Also fucked up he retired mid season when the players won't be able to take advantage of the 30 day window.

Weak looking schedule as Zags/UCLA the only Top20 matchup and O!e Miss/Memphis the only other interesting game today.

Intuit is cool, but a total shitshow getting in and getting food

And he gakked on that FT and followed up that with a premature launch of a half court shot with 4 seconds left.  Bruins win 65-62

He barely hit the rim on the FT, and I was tripping when he shot that half counter with plenty of time left on the clock.

What cum dumpster thought an 11am tipoff between two Top 10 teams was a good idea?

NFL Saturday fucked everything up
