Kansas' demise has been greatly overexaggerated.

Or we're just really bad lately.

Gotta get through some middling squads here until Momcilovic gets back.  Our entire offense is just fucked without him available.

They're really ... let's say inconsistent. Look like world beaters one game, and then like Baylor football circa early 2000s the next.

Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton announced Monday he's stepping down at the end of the season, ending a 23-year career in Tallahassee.

Hamilton, 76, will end his Florida State tenure as the winningest coach in school history and in the top five in wins in the history of the ACC. During his time with the Seminoles, Hamilton guided the program to the 2020 ACC regular-season title and eight NCAA tournament appearances. He also advanced to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament on four occasions.

Hamilton is being sued by six former players basketball players from the 2023-24 team, alleging he failed to make good on a promise to get each of them $250,000 in name, image and likeness compensation.

The plaintiffs -- Darin Green Jr., De'Ante Green, Cam'Ron Fletcher, Josh Nickelberry, Primo Spears and Jalen Warley -- filed suit in Leon County circuit court, and their attorney, Fort Lauderdale-based Darren Heitner, shared the 20-page complaint.

The former players allege Hamilton promised them the money from his "business partners." The lawsuit says they walked out of a practice in the past season over the missed payments and intended to boycott a Feb. 17 game against Duke. They ended up playing -- the Seminoles lost -- amid a guarantee from Hamilton that they would be paid but they never were, according to the suit.

marquette just playing 5-out and shooting threes on offense. classic shaka smart ineptitude. you’ve got kam jones on your team, but sure, don’t even let him touch the ball, just have him stand around watching before you heave up another three.

Didn't realize Pitino had his boys playing this well.

Best start for St. John’s since 1985-86. That team beat Syracuse to win Big East Tournament but lost to Auburn, led by Chuck Person, in the NCAA second round to finish 31-5.

If Tech stays healthy, no way they stay at the 4.

That being said, Toppin turned his ankle tonight...

#13 Tech takes out Baylor by 14 though, 73-59

Bruins fucking this up.  Gave up the lead but tied with 0:47 left.  Izzo out coaching Mick.  He’s out coached a lot of people, but Bilodeau has the advantage against MSU’s slower bigs and not finding a way to get him the ball inside.  If Mick wants to hang a banner, he has to figure out a way to counter Izzo, who has made great halftime adjustments.  BTW, Capital and Erv showing each other love pregame which was awesome.

The ACC is not good. That said they have  conference wins of 27, 29 and 17 over top 50 kenpom teams.

Um. Why in the fuck would OU be 2 seed lines above Texas? Worse NET. Worse kenpom. Worse conference record.

I get that was before they got shellacked by Auburn but they were behind Texas in NET going into that game.

There’s a lot of nonsense in that bracket.

I'll take a crack and I'll probably miss a bunch.

  • Bama has a great record but a shit defense that makes me balk at ever putting them at a 1 seed
  • A&M as a 2 seed is a joke, 4 at the highest
  • KU is way too inconsistent for me to put them any higher than 5, ISU is also inconsistent but probably 2-3 seed quality or higher when playing at their best
  • Wisconsin at 4? Try 6
  • Ole Miss is at best a 7 seed
  • UCLA I would have said 9 seed before the last couple games but they're moving up
  • I think Dan Hurley is like, days away from a Mark Adams style meltdown so we'll see, not that it affects their seeding currently
  • OU is probably worth an 11 or 12 seed at best
  • It's questionable if Gonzaga is even a tournament team right now
  • Texas should be a 7-9 seed right now

I'm sure there's more but it's late

Yeah, I don't know about all that (the bracket above).  I think Texas is seeded higher than OU rn and aggy ain't no 2 seed. Probably a 3 or 4.

Men's basketball coach Mike Woodson is not expected to return to Indiana next season, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

Woodson, 66, is expected to coach the rest of the year, sources said, but he and the Hoosiers are in discussions about the coach's wishes to step away after this season. The details of the exit are being discussed.

The Hoosiers are heading toward their second consecutive season without an NCAA tournament appearance, losing four straight games and six of their past seven.

While the financial terms of Woodson's exit are not clear, his contract calls for him to be paid more than $8 million if he's fired. His contract allows for the buyout to be paid in annual million-dollar lump sums, which makes it more manageable for the school from a budgetary standpoint.

Following an offseason rebuild that included one of the better transfer portal classes in the country, headlined by Oumar Ballo (Arizona), Myles Rice (Washington State) and Kanaan Carlyle (Stanford), Indiana entered the season with considerable expectations. The Hoosiers were No. 17 in the preseason AP poll and behind only Purdue in the preseason Big Ten media poll.

Indiana had one of the largest NIL budgets in the Big Ten and in the country this season, which is expected to be a significant selling point for the job.

St. John’s was always my #2 Big East team. Our seats at the old Field House were five rows behind the visiting bench and we always had fun joking, mostly because we were so awful, with most of the teams and their staff.

The priest, Father Dreher, who traveled with St. John’s was a cool guy. I worked more than a few Big East Tournaments and got to know him a bit. We used to call him Father DeNiro because he resembled a Mob Priest, perfectly dressed, well groomed with jet black hair.

The last time they won the Big East Tournament was the Bootsy Thornton & Erick Barkley team of 1999-2000. They were fun, and extremely volatile as they had a fight in their locker room after one of the games.

If I remember correctly Jay Z was seated behind their bench for the three games at MSG for that tournament.

Last year at the Big East I got to hang out a bit with Walter Berry and he was cool. He was working as a former player celebrity rep for Schweppes. Along with a buddy of mine who played for Pitt so that’s how I got to meet Walter.

I made my reservations this week for the Big East and I’m hoping St John’s will win as MSG is electric when they are good.

I hate quoting myself, but what 2 were better than these two?  Shaq and Kobe?  Close.  MJ and Scottie?  I think these two were the best 1-2 (and I don’t even know who would be 1 & 2), were the best ever.

The only pair I could offer is Wilt and Elgin Baylor. But, I don’t think they had the longevity, or the championships like Kareem & Magic.
