I’ll admit I am a very casual volleyball watcher so I am probably missing something, but what happened to Ella Swindle? She was such a huge part of the run last year as a true freshman and seems to have basically disappeared this year.

One thing, last year she had a foot injury that kept her from jump setting. She was better setting without jumping.

I'll be so glad when Jenna is gone. If the set isn't perfect she 2 hands it right to the other teams front row giving the opponent exactly what they want. She can't even push it to a back corner. And why does she need a perfect set to attack? Every time Jenna pushes it over Emma gets to eat leather. Emma owes Jenna a good slap in the face.

Mizz has a OH that attacks from anywhere on the court no matter how good or bad the set. A .200 hitter on the NC team isn't going to cut it. Why not give Lauwenstein a chance?

Our volleyball and football teams both got punched in the mouth recently. Football then responded well enough against a decent opponent to leave Nashville with a win. It wasn't all that impressive, but they did survive a conference battle on the road and still have a chance to make a title run.

Volleyball didn't get it done at home...twice straight. That makes today a total MUST win. After surviving that second set, let's see if they have what it takes to get their mojo back. I don't think any of us could be called optimistic, but we all hope they do

This team is almost unwatchable now.  They can give up 5-6 points in a row to air.  Poor ball handling, lack of consistent blocking, and don't even get me started on our pin hitters. I have never seen such regression from one year to the next with a team. To say I'm shocked is an understatement, and there is no fixing the many problems with the team this year.

Oof. We got dominated. Tried to give away the only set we won.

Even the SEC title seems out of reach now.

Well we gacked away first place with 3 straight losses.

I miss Logan.  Madi turned it on in the latter half of last year and was otherworldly in the tournament and even Wenaas turned it on late in the tournament but neither have ever had Logan's consistency.

But it's hard to think of a single returning player who hasn't dropped off from last year.

No blocking. Poor hitting. Burned Emericks shirt for really no reason.

I've been around more than a handful of college VB coaches. They all seem to lack any kind of insight at all when they don't overpower teams.

My daughters coach is the same way. Blind as hell to real issues and makes changes at unnecessary positions (in this case back row).

Sure don’t have trouble making HEB commercials!

Perhaps we're getting a glimpse into the distractions inherent to high-level college sports in the NIL era. It's hard to know where an athlete's head really is, but when play suffers it's not crazy to ask if priorities are as they should be.

Maybe that's not at all what we're seeing. But throw NIL obligations and money on top of the rockstar status that comes with back-to-back titles and it's hardly unthinkable that some players might lose focus. Past time for coaches and team leaders to figure it out.

She has been too busy traveling to exotic islands all offseason instead of training to defend a title. This whole team decided winning was awesome and that they didnt need to work hard to stay on top.

She's 6'3" and can help with the block and dump in a 5-1.   We've given away that and it's hurting us.  If Carlson was playing lights out, it's one thing.  She's not.  Partly because we're out of system most of the time, which is one more reason to play Swindle.  The hitters are getting so many bad "sets" that they're dinking half the time.
