Dallas Cowboys 2024 Season Thread -- Jerrah the Asshat Rides Again

Recommended Posts

The draft has become a huge issue and they don't fill in roster holes with free agency.  You can't get better when that's the case.  There is no hope for the foreseeable future as long as Jerry is in control.

If you're Dak, why not just sandbag the next 3 seasons then retire? You know deep down you aren't winning anything in this organization. The owners aren't trying to win. Why even bother more than the minimum?

Deep down there are only a handful of organizations that have a legit shot of winning something over the next few years.  Dallas isn't one of them along with a whole lot of other teams and players.  Do you think deep down everyone on the Giants, Jags, Titans, Jets, Colts, Raiders, Saints, Browns, or Panthers should just commit career suicide?  All these teams are just as lost, the Cowboys aren't unique in their ineptitude.

Yep. Reality is most teams aren't actually trying to win. It's a business. A grift. Like religion, they get to you when you're young.

In  the late 90s Erin Hogan said he would walk to Dallas if the Cowboys won a super bowl with Jerry at GM. He has yet to worry.

I would say the Cowboys under Jerry since his "I want the credit tantrum" are pretty unique in ineptitude. Although you picked a few organizations that are right there with Jerry.

Here are the top NFL playoff wins since 2000:

New England Patriots: 30 wins, including 6 Super Bowl wins ¹
Baltimore Ravens: 17 wins, including 2 Super Bowl wins ¹
Kansas City Chiefs: 16 wins, including 3 Super Bowl wins ¹
Philadelphia Eagles: 16 wins, including 1 Super Bowl win ¹
Green Bay Packers: 15 wins, including 1 Super Bowl win ¹
Pittsburgh Steelers: 15 wins, including 2 Super Bowl wins ¹
Seattle Seahawks: 14 wins, including 1 Super Bowl win ¹
    San Francisco 49ers: 14 wins ¹
Indianapolis Colts: 13 wins, including 1 Super Bowl win ¹
New York Giants: 11 wins, including 2 Super Bowl wins ¹
Los Angeles Rams: 10 wins, including 2 Super Bowl wins ¹
New Orleans Saints: 10 wins, including 1 Super Bowl win ¹
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 9 wins, including 2 Super Bowl wins ¹
Denver Broncos: 7 wins, including 3 Super Bowl wins ¹

    New York Jets: 6 wins
    Carolina Panthers: 6 wins
    Tennessee Titans: 5 wins

    Jacksonville Jaguars: 4 wins
    Las Vegas Raiders: 4 wins
    Dallas Cowboys: 4 wins ¹

Washington is nowhere to be found on that list.  They finally unfuck themselves by dumping their version of Jerry Jones and hey looky there, things seem to be turning around

They've also been this terrible with 2 borderline franchise QBs back to back for the last 18 years. How do you not at least blind luck into one NFC title game in 18 years with a franchise QB? Even the Bears lucked into a super bowl appearance with Rex fucking Grossmann in that time.

It's why I really wanted to see Dak leave after the season. If he was able to go to another team with some talent and get to an NFC title game that would seal the deal with more than the mountain of circumstantial evidence already available.

And this bastard bought his historically inept ass in to cheapening the hall of fame.

If paying your QB top 5 money doesn't give you an automatic 9 or 10 win floor, you shouldn't do it. It's that simple.

In that case, have you looked at the record of the Dallas Cowboys in the years Dak has been the starting QB and he was not injured??

I finally thought Jerry was taking care of all family business in 2024.  Fat Mike and all coaches contract in last year. Dak playing on final year.  CeeDee playing out.  Tons of cap room with lots of old talent contracts gone.  Trade some folks like parsons for more draft capital.  Great position for 2025.

but Noooooo!  Jerry boofooed himself with that last minute Dak deal.  Rest of team sees it as stupidity and don’t play hard for him as they know a $ he gets is a $ they won’t.  And don’t be surprised when Jerry signs fat Mike to another contract.

100% correct. Get rid of the head fuck up in the organization and anyone halfway competent can turn it around quickly.

And in 1 or 2 seasons Washington can match Jerry's playoff success over the last quarter century.

The Broncos have only won 1 SB since 2000.

he absolutely deserves to be in as an owner.  he's the most influential owner in the history of the game.

Elliott out tomorrow for disciplinary reasons.  Not that he would make a difference.

ATLANTA -- Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will not play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons because of disciplinary reasons, a source told ESPN on Saturday.

Elliott was originally slated to be active for the game. He did not accompany the team on the charter flight Saturday. Elliott's agent, Rocky Arceneaux, could not be reached for comment.
