Dallas Cowboys 2024 Season Thread -- Jerrah the Asshat Rides Again

Recommended Posts

Hindsight has nothing to do with assessing Jerrah.

The movie Titanic had a more surprising ending than this Cowboys shitshow.

When he didn’t shitcan Fathead Mike and insisted he was resigning Dak last January, I tapped out as a fan.  This season has been a payoff in spades.  Zero surprises.

This is what did it for you huh? It wasn’t the nearly 30 years of nothing but terrible decisions starting with hiring Barry Switzer?

Hated the Switzer hire.  Thought it was lazy and Jerry trying to prove a point.  Well he proved one beyond the shadow of any argument; but not in the way he had hoped.
Still had certain players I liked through the years, but yeah, those 2 things in January were the last straw for me.  Jerrah has delivered in every way I thought he would in this campaign.

Jerry the businessman should have fired Jerrah the GM 30 years ago and let the football people do the footballin.  It'll take death to make that happen.

Same. I just learned the score of the game 10 minutes ago when I used to give a shit. Went to the lease today and listened to music getting ready for duck season and filling deer feeders.

That was the turning point for me. When he fired Jimmy and then hired Barry, I was done with JJ. It took another 10 years or so before I really started to hate him and what he had done to that organization.  I’ve been apathetic about them for the better part of 20 years now and have actually begun to hate them because of JJ.

This right here. The Cowboys (and Longhorns) were my life as a kid growing up in Dallas in the 70s.

Wait, you’re going to replace Jimmy Johnson with Barry fucking Switzer? Off his couch? Obviously we knew for sure who we were dealing with then, but I kind of mentally stuck around a few years to see what would happen. But I’ve been completely out for around 25 years I guess. Nothing about that team or organization has shown an ounce of character or heart or substance or integrity or even relevancy in that time. I haven’t missed out on Jack shit.

I don’t hate them, though. I just shake my head and laugh. Can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would waste emotion on that clown show of an organization.

Jerrah's got you snowed.

Nope.  I stopped being an avid Cowboy fan years ago, and Jerrah signing Dak to an extension this summer was the final straw.  Making a mediocre QB, with 2 playoff wins in 8 years, the highest paid player in the league (for the 2nd time), while he still has a year left on his current contract, is about as dumb as it gets.  Make him play for a new contract.  Worst case scenario, he holds out and you play Cooper, then either get a FA or draft a QB.

If I'm a GM, I'd rather roll the dice and pay rookie money to Cam Ward or Dillon Gabriel than $60m a year to Dak.

But, whatever, I'm officially out as a Cowboy fan until the Jones family is gone.  The only reason I watched the game today was to see Bijan and Overshown.

If I am Micah, there is no way I play another down for this organization. He needs to force his way out. He’s pretty much the only mostly likable player on the team.

Meh. Micah is a stat-padding no show come playoff time or against a team with a pulse. He's Dak-esque. Plus he went to Pedo State. Fuck that.

My thoughts and prayers are for Overshown. He has like three years left.

He's having a pretty good season and deserves a better team.

A friend smoked a pork butt yesterday and had about 10-12 people over.  All of us lifelong Cowboy fans in our 50s.

As the Cowboys started to lose again, there was complete apathy interrupted only by laughter at the Cowboys.

He'll probably spend half of that time on IR getting paid, so don't feel too sorry.

Another qb isn't going to help. It would just lock the Cowboys in with another record salary to deal with.

Build up the positions they have neglected or just failed to fill with poor drafting. Guyton was a terrible pick, at least in round 1 to plug in at LT, which is something he wasn't.

Martin is showing why smarter teams don't draft guards in the first round. Most of the league's good starting guards were taken in mid rounds, and I don't think any NFL team has won championships by having the best guards in the league since Lombardi's Packers. You just need a really good cohesive OL unit. Better coaches know how to utilize mediocre OL talent into a functional unit. The Cowboys take the highest drafted and highest paid OL group and mold them into a mediocre unit.

Cowboys are currently sitting at number 11 in the draft positioning, and likely rising quickly in the coming weeks. Frankly, I'm looking forward to a new start with a top 10 pick and a new coaching staff. Four picks in round five will be fun.

Nothing will change unless Jerry the businessman fires Jerry the GM. Or if he dies and the Jones family hire a decent GM that can run the football operations.

thats it.

the rest is wishful thinking by fans that don’t want to accept after 28 years of not even making it to the NfC championship that the Cowboys will not win anything like a SB until a real GM is hired.

Thats just the truth. So just admit you are big fans of a team that will never go anywhere and accept it. I see no evidence that changing coaches again will do jack shit, I see no evidence they will make off season moves to help the team. I see no evidence that anything will ever change as long as Jerruh is the GM. No evidence. It’s all wishful thinking.

And you can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up first. It is not gonna change. No matter who we draft. No matter what draft spot we get. The Team architect has his blue stared prints all over it. This is the team Jerruh built and they have a shot to win maybe three more games on the schedule. Period.

I bet this team is better with Rush at QB.

They have no running game no matter who the QB is. Lamb while a warrior is banged the fuck up. They have Zeke though. Zeke!!!!! Frank Gore coming out of retirement could get more yards.

Had the dumbass GM  in charge of drafting the contracts and getting deals done and balancing the cap had half a fucking scintilla of football knowledge we could have Henry, maybe Davante Adams and a few other FA pieces.

But no…fuck you Jerry! Fuck Jerry!!!! fuck the Jerruh! I hope he has the Clap. 👏

Time to tank! Maybe get that RB out of Boise State or some type of bad ass on defense or a great TE.

not that it matters bc Jerruh will still be the GM.

IMO, what the Cowboys need more than anything else is linemen, both offensive and defensive.

That said, I hope to god that the Cowboys don't have a chance to draft Banks.
