Dallas Cowboys 2024 Season Thread -- Jerrah the Asshat Rides Again

Recommended Posts

I never expected the Cowboys to win this one. They almost did, except they Cowboyed it, unsurprisingly, in a totally Cowboy way. They look poorly coached. Color me shocked and stunned.

On the bright side, it saved them 4 spots in the current draft order, now at 12. I project they will end up at 10.

The Overshown injury is a tragic.

I think I heard Troy say something to the effect that John Fassel is considered one of the best special teams coaches in the league. I'm not sure why though. We've had some really good kickers and punters but that's not exactly coaching right? Turpin is finally having a year. I guess we don't give up many major returns, due in part to having strong kickers. I guess special teams coaching is something I don't know a lot about. All I know is that everyone on that field should have known to leave the ball alone after the block and he clearly didn't coach it right, so fuck him, and fuck everyone on the staff right now.

Still not as bad as Banks not preparing ST for Georgia’s fake punt probably costing Texas the championship.

Yeah it sucks that they were rewarded for having their punt blocked but....if your players know the rules and act accordingly, it doesn't matter, you have the ball, chance to win. It's a perfect example of not paying attention to details, which is why this team goes nowhere year after year.

One of the few bright spots in the Cowboys’ gloomy 2024 season has been snuffed out. And while the darkness may linger for some time, the player at the center of it is already igniting a new flicker of hope.

DeMarvion Overshown, the promising second-year linebacker who was playing in just his 13th game as a pro, went down with a leg injury during the fourth quarter of Monday night’s gut-wrenching 27-20 loss to Cincinnati.

This injury may be even worse than the preseason ACL tear that cost him his entire rookie campaign in 2023.

“It’s of serious nature, I’m told, that’s really all I know,” Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said after the game, per the team website. “It didn’t look good.”

Overshown entered the contest as the team’s second-leading tackler, with more sacks- five- than any Cowboys defender apart from Micah Parsons, with a team-best eight tackles for loss, and having recorded the only interception return for a touchdown of Dallas’s season so far.

But when his right leg was rolled up on by Bengals center Ted Karras, it was cause for immediate concern. Cowboys teammates quickly called for assistance, and Overshown was taken directly to the locker room with help from two team trainers. He was ruled out of the remainder of the contest within minutes.

Goddamn, can you come back to high level professional football at all after tearing all three ligaments? Overshown was about the only remaining bright spot for this franchise going forward.

Ironic that Heisman winner Roger Staubach (photo above) became a total legend in Dallas.

After all, he got his "Captain America" butt kicked all over the Cotton Bowl by DKR and the badass UT defense. 28-6. Total rout (Navy TD came in garbage time late in 4Q).

1963 National Champs!

Roger Staubach is better at business than he was at football, and he won the Heisman, 2 Super Bowls, a SB MVP, and enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Every week I get up and watch and hope against hope this week will be the debacle which makes Jerrah choke on his tongue and die.  Every week, I am profoundly disappointed...... but I hope.  Because hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and we can't every lose it.

Let's do this..... maybe it'll be the week Jerrah chokes on his tongue.

I stood next to him at NorthPark, we were both waiting in line at the movies.  He was never the biggest guy, but he may be the fittest 80 year old man on the planet.  There are 30 year olds out there who would like to be in the shape he's in.

he was college vy, before vy

Cooper, you do realize we have a kicker that can kick 70.   Just throw it away, dummy.

The rush was right in his face too, so he saw it..... he just panicked.  It's probably time to sit Cooper and see how bad Trey is.

Carolina's offense is so painful with these 4 yard rushes and then dinking and dunking down the field.  Against a defense this bad, it can work, but it's a painful watch.

Way to go, Marist!  After doing nothing but making tackles 7 yards down the field for a dozen games, he's flashed the last couple of games.  Looks like the game may be slowing down for him a little.... just needs to get stronger in the offseason.

I believe that Cooper is our future
Teach him well and let him lead the way
Show him all the beauty he possess inside
Give him a sense of pride to make it easier
Let Cooper's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
