🤔🤔🤔🤔

JUST IN: #Texas star quarterback Quinn Ewers has a formal meeting with the Dallas #Cowboys at the #NFL combine, sources exclusively tell @_MLFootball.

Ewers, 21, was 11 and 1 on the road as a starter in conference games. CFP semifinals 2 seasons in a row and 27 & 5 as a starter.

That's gonna suck for Cowboy Quinn when Dallas takes Arch with the #1 pick in the 2027 NFL draft.

Saquon played on a team of scrubs in NJ.

Deebo was the 3rd weapon on offense, if that.

Plus Deebo’s going to make $18m next year and the Commanders are paying all of it. That’s why they only had to give up a 5th.

Ha ha whoops!  Shoulda known better, a rational person such as yourself would never be preaching calm in the warm assurance of Jerrah's decision-making.

Some chatter building that he will not be…

I don't think it would matter.  Cowboys aren't really looking to spend a top 50 pick on QB at this time and have a plethora of other needs.  Frankly, they should just re-sign Lance and see if they can develop him and get the compensatory pick for Rush.

The far more interesting rumor is unsurprisingly, Deion's kid is interviewing terribly and may be sinking his draft spot.  If he's there at 12, does Jerrah overrule his entire organization, go rogue, and take Sanders?  I actually don't think Jerrah has the balls anymore to go rogue and do something without support of Stephen and the inner circle, but dementia is a helluva drug.

Least surprising combine result ever.

If that delusional old man wastes a draft pick on him I'll celebrate the acceleration of the chaos that will accompany it. Plus it'll make for some great radio on the little ticket.

Wow a "not so late it's a horrible" signing for the Cowboys.  Cheap signing bonus too...and 20 mil aav for Osa is in line, if not a little below, what most thought he'd get here or on the open market.

4/80 w/58mm guaranteed for Osa Odighizuwa.  Not a terrible contract tbh.  Some word going around that he could get in the 22/ range.

Is he worth that much? H wasn't productive with Micah out.  And he's not the run stopper we deserve.

Yes he's worth that much, he would have gotten MORE in FA.  And he's not supposed to be the big run stuffer...that's the 1 tech.

Sure, it could blow up in the Cowboys' faces, as we have seen before. But he's at market value, in his prime on an upward swing. A 3rd round pick working out well is always good. He may end up being even better in the new defense.  But of course the Cowboys curse could always take over.

It frees the Cowboys from having to sign another starting DL to replace him and focus on another need, so at least there's that.

Cowboys freed up some cap space with restructures.

Cowboys already have the biggest run stuffer of all time, and it ain't our friend from Port Arthur.

Pretty good signing if he stays healthy.  I believe I read it's 14th overall AAV for IDL and he's homegrown and should be entering a couple of prime years.  Injury is the stickler and usually it's hard to discern who has injury history.  Diggs is a good example.  He's going to be cut os his contract extension looks horrible, but it would have been hard to know how he would blow out his legs like he did.

Regardless, I like it and it's definitely a position of need.  Still need to sign at least 1 more in UFA (probably 2) and draft a guy in day 3 unless he's a pass rusher.

Are giddy at Valley Ranch not tripping over their own dicks to sign a player?

SMDH.  That's not really cause for celebration.  It's more amazing that they didn't further hamstring the organization for once.

yeah seriously though dak didn't say that, right?  this is some kind of ballsack thing?

Dak restructures his contract to take another 37M off the current cap.

I'm guessing an offer to DLaw might be up next, if they can get him back at a decent number. He seems to want to stick around a couple more years.

From trade to truce and beyond: the Browns and Myles Garrett reached agreement today on a record contract extension that averages $40 million per year and includes $123.5 million in guaranteed money and now makes him the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history, sources tell ESPN. Garrett’s agent, Nicole Lynn of Klutch Sports and Browns GM Andrew Berry finalized the deal today.

Fantastic!  Get to pay Micah 41m AAV now.  Jerrah waits again and has the market driven up almost 12m on him from last summer.  There he sits soiling his diapers, drooling, popping off about how he's the only one who could do this.  Yes, maybe the only one who could be this bad at doing this..... that's sumthing.

Good for Garrett I guess.

Some decent DL rotation or potential short term starter guys available, mostly affordable guys, seems like a direction Dallas should go before the draft. So they probably won't. The DL is huge to the new defensive philosophy. A 3-down type LB would be nice, too.

Cowboys just signed RB Javonte Williams. Not exactly what I was hoping for. He seems to have declined the last couple of years, but still young and pretty cheap. Maybe it's a better scheme fit or something. At least they have another RB on the roster who has done "something" before.

Reportedly one year, 3 mil. Hopefully not guaranteed money if he sucks in preseason. Worth a flier, though.

Great.  Jourdan Lewis signs with the Jags.

That's a really good deal for Lewis.  20m guaranteed, as long as he doesn't fall off a cliff, probably closer to 25m guaranteed through 2 years.  Highest paid slot corner as he's turning 30 years old.

Funny thing is there were rumors the Cowboys were interested in Charvarious Ward from the Niners..... then 3 hours later, he gets 60m from the Colts.  😂

The secondary is in real disrepair now.  Diggs probably never comes back and plays at a real high level and possibly gets cut.  Lewis gone in UFA.  That means you almost have to overpay for Daron Bland to give it some sense of known quantities.  Then you have a bunch of guys who looked bad last year -- Carson, Booth, and Butler are on the roster and one of them is hurt.  All of sudden a new position becomes a huge need and we could see Dallas pivot from offense and go with Jahdae Barron at 12..... Oh boy.

Dallas seems to come out of every UFA with more holes than they start with..... Draft can only do so much.

I think that means Rico could have priced himself out of the market...... Maybe.  Javonte was once a huge talent, but his knee injury has made him into journeyman now.  Maybe another year away from the injury can restore some juice.

It wouldn't bother me too much if they don't retain Dowdle. Good back, but a lot of his success is due to opponents having zero respect for the Cowboys rushing attack, especially after Dak went down. Dallas run more in the second half because it was there to be had. He's not a legit number one. Let him weigh offers and see if he can get way overpaid. There should be a running back with far more talent taken in the 3rd round or so, maybe even one of the 5s, in a pretty deep group. Still some better FAs out there as well if they need to go there after the draft.

ward was a guy we were smart enough to pick up as an undrafted free agent, and dumb enough to cut after that preseason.  he was all-pro a few years later and has a ring.  jerry understands talent like nobody else.

so, you think dowdle had some success last season because opposing defenses were gearing up to stop cooper rush?  does this go through your head more than once before posting it?
